The title says it all, Ive been bouncing around rank 4 trying to get to legend but I keep getting fatigued by mage and priest. Paladin is also a pain as well. I'm looking for ideas and card suggestions to play mainly around Potion of Madness for Priest. I was thinking swap Rat for Infested Wolf because if rat or grandma get stolen early its a big set back.
For Mage its mostly just getting fatigued out If I can't beat them to the punch and I play well around aoe which is rare because of the many options they have to stay alive. should I give up on this match up and try to tech more towards beating paladin and priest?
Lastly is Paladin, should I tech my Fiery Bat for a Hungry Crab. I feel like this is a risk because so much value is lost if don't end up playing alot of paladins.
These aren't the only options I'm considering. I know how meta heavy the last 5 ranks are. If theres a card you think could have a better fit let me know. I attached a picture of my deck below for you to check out.
Thanks in advance!
edit: the3 cards that are being hidden in the picture are 2 Alleycat and one Fiery Bat
I cut my single Fiery Bat for a Hungry Crab and haven't looked back. In reality, even vs non-murloc decks, a 1/2 beast isn't much worse than a 2/1 beast with a ping. The 1/2 body stands up better to early pirate trades too. Here is my list for comparison.
I reached legend recently with a midrange hunter deck. I tech-ed the crap out of my deck. I ran 1 copy for hungry crab against Paladins, it straight up win you games because of the tempo advantage, you take out their turn 1 murloc, then they cannot buff it with rockpool hunter on turn 2 and you got yourself a 3-4 body on board. I also have a single copy of flare in my deck to combat mages and paladins to destroy their secret. Even with other match-ups, drawing flare will be like a 2 mana draw 1 which isn't all that bad. Then finally I tech 2 golakka crawlers for the many pirate decks (rogue, pirate warrior, aggro druid) to great success.

Hey man can you share your list? i am also thinking to tech crab and flare but dont know what too cut of from regular cards. I am running this furo list:
The reason i teched so hard was because I had many matches against these specific classes. So do it if you're for sure you're going to get a lot of them. What I liked about this deck was that I have ways to get back on the board with wolf and unleash to trade or go face, and leeroy to finish it.

Cheers man! Well meta is shifting pretty fast so its hard to follow. i had a great run with mid hunter till almost rank 3 and than last night got score 3-12.. feels bad man
I hears ya man. This is what I've learned from my climb to legend. Because I have 2 golakka crawlers in my deck, pirate decks are just so easy to beat especially pirate warrior, I won all my games against pirate warriors to rank 1 (After that sadly didn't get anymore).
Rogue is just an easy matchup in every shape or form, just rush them down and sometimes control the board in your favor to win.
Mage is also easy same as the rogue matchup. However, with flares, I just straight up win my games. My last game was actually against a mage where I killed him/her on turn 5.
Taunt warrior is kinda annoying, you have to be extremely lucky to win sadly.
Murloc paladin is my most hated matchup, I have a positive win rate because hungry crab but if you don't have it and they go off, it's gg. Control paladin is a straight up lost at this point, they have too much sustain powers and values generators.
Priest is 50-50. However I only got 2 games from 5-legend.
Hunter mirror is as coinflippy as ever so, just try to maximize your resources.
No shaman/warlock encountered during my run.
What I liked about my list is that I have enough techs to go against the most popular decks right now but doesn't hinder my deck all that much. A turn 1 1/2 isn't all that bad nor a 2 2/3. Flare can be considered a 2 mana draw 1 so not too bad either. Also, with Timber Wolf and Dire Wolf Alpha, combo with Unleash, I have ways to get back on the board and win games.

Switched from my own faster list to this one: 3 wins 4 losses at rank 5.
I mean, I didn't encourage anyone to use my list. All I did was sharing my experience with tech choices that brought me to legend. That was actually the list I climbed all the way to legend after messing around with like 7 different versions, this version specifically gave me a 70% wr during my climb. So maybe you're just playing it wrong or not getting the right draws. But hey, never said it was good lol.
Here's the deck I used to get from rank 5 to legend with last season. I had a 60-65% win rate. I didn't use Hungry Crab in my deck because I wasn't facing that many Paladins on ladder, but if you are then you can always -1 Golakka Crawler +1 Hungry Crab.
