I saw the EU tournament today , the Spring Champhionship, and the performance of the hunters was outrageous... they´ve got a 83% win percentage...
I havent got the numbers from the past tournaments (America) but i estimate that also are really goods...
So my questions is, this excellents perfmorances are because the good level of the class now or because nobody takes too seriously hunter and the players dont bring to the tournaments tech decks against him???
On the other hand, the performance of the paladins was 25%... they missed secrets?
A little of both for hunters. Everyone was so locked to thinking of hunters as a fast class that they ruled them out when WoG didn't give them what they needed to stay fast. The current decks are true slow Midrange in style and tend to drop highmanes of all things. The result is that they are VERY ***VERY*** good at killing control decks again. Thus anyone who brought a control deck got chewed up by them. Doesn't help that true aggro is almost never played in tournaments (the shamans played are totem midrange) which is the natural counter to midrange hunter.
Meanwhile, paladins are THE anti-control deck. Which makes them prey to hunters, shamans, freeze mage, and rogues. Paladins have always preyed on control decks, and ..well. Druid is dead, Warriors go Tempo all the time, and Priest is dead.
Sidenote, the paladin deck to bring just before standard started was Anyfin. Secret paladin was less viable in slower metas with good board clears, especially since they had no burst to speak of.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
In a control meta (as seen on EU Championship), mid hunter is a beast.
As the tournament meta is different from ladder, the results will vary a lot.
