With standard coming along and the general power level of all classes being scaled down, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what should go in a mid-range hunter deck in Standard. Hunters have always had a strong basic/classic set of cards so they should be a very viable class. I don't just want SMORC ideas, but rather interesting ways to make use of hunter. LoE cards could be fun with explorer's hat and the desert camel / injured kvaldir combo. Maybe now dart trap might not even be so bad. Any thoughts?
Camel might be something to consider. You probably won't be running secrets now with the removal of scientists, or at least not to the quantity you would've, so it frees up slots for the camel and kvaldir.
Well, with the loss of Doctor Balanced, another big minion will likely be used. I believe that King Krush is something to look over again for late-game. Giant Sandworm will be another great addition. With the loss of Webspinner, there needs to be a new 1-drop, so I would consider Leper Gnome.

Sandworm seems incredible but I believe he'll be a win-more card or a win-seal card. Thats not a bad thing per se but Midrange Hunter needs a good closer and Im not sure if this guy is it. We need a strong minion or two to play after the Highmanes. Like Tirion for Paladin.... love to have a card like that. King Crush would be the bomb if he was 7 mana. Perfect for post-Highmanes play.
As others have said, lots of cards to come yet. I just hope Mid-Hunter is viable in Standard because it really isnt too god on ladder right now. :(
Leper is a great 1 drop for Midrange Hunter. Why? Your opponents get in a tizzy thinking its facehunter and then wonder why you are playing Shredders, Belchers, Wranglers, etc, etc LOL
I played a bit with my midrange hunter today. I love that deck. It's fast and proactive without being SMOrc. But most of it will fade out.
Loatheb wins me games against Mages. I play the spiders, which are beasts, but the opponent is not eager to remove. My late game cards are Dr. Balanced and Gahr'zilla. Mad Scientist is an awesome turn 2 play.
I run 1 each freezing and explosive trap. I usually prefer to choose which one I'll use, but Mad Scientist draws them for me. I can swap the spiders for the hyena, which works great with unleash. But the deck seems way weaker this way.
Standard will remove 7 important cards from my deck. I expect that the expansion bring good replacements. The 8/8 perpetual-windfury-when-killing might be a good replacement to Gahr'zilla, but it's not the 24 dmg finisher Gahr'zilla is... :/
I'm sure midrange hunter will be a top tier deck in standard, all the cards that are rotating out are replaceable except for scientist. Here are some ideas on what to sub without even counting the new cards:
Probably some beast synergy would work (Ram Wrangler and Tomb Spider are both better than people give them credit for) and that new Infest could be real interesting. We could even see an N'Zoth in there because Highmane is now one of the best deathrattles in the game

moved to Hunter forum
Thoughts ? Just wait bro, there are more than 100 cards yet to revealed. No point thinking about that now.

I win due to skill and lose due to bad RNG. :D

9 cards. Forgot the shredders.
I even got a sniper today that saved me the game. And a +1 dmg hero power (the mage one) which surprisingly worked

Webspinnner- king's elekk
creaper- Huge toad
shredder- tomb spider
loatheb- ram wrangler/ stealth tiger
Dr boom- ragnaros/king krush.
Valar Morghulis

Camel Hunter is already a thing and I don't see it getting much weaker. Maybe replace one Cult Master for one Infest and you're good to go.
Also, Sandworm doesn't fit any particular deck right now and I can't see how it could be good. What is REALLY is, however, is a buff to Ram Wrangler.
