I cant for the life of me figure out how this card isnt more regularly used. I have won a great deal of matches with it, and have absolutely disrupted the tempo of the other player by throwing it on my used Keeper of the Grove that gets ignored after turn 4 once his utility is gone. In decks that run shades, it's a 10/10 on turn 6 if you get it out on turn 3. However, I never seeDark Wispers in decks.
Does anyone else run this or am I the only one?
It's really helping me push through ranks 15-10 in this deck:
Could be used in things like Token Druid for the Wisps, the problem is it takes a lot of mana to use, relies on already having a creature on the board, and makes your unit incredibly vulnerable to BGH. +5/+5 for 6 mana is a bit overcosted, and there are other competative 6 slots in druid like Emperor and Sylvanas
5 wisps die to swipe, holy nova, consecreation, blade flurry, arcane explosion, and all the other AoE out there. Are you really going to gamble 6 mana for a chance like that to happen? OP maybe you only count when it has won you games, and not when it has lost you them?
I love Dark Whispers in arena for the 5/5 taunt. It's so strong. I think one problem this card has is that in constructed, everyone who's tried to use it tried it in some gimmicky token deck that's bent on summoning the 5 wisps for a funky combo, and when that didn't work out they suddenly thought it was trash.
Pally has more buffs. I tried running ooze with Kings + Might or Champions. Even then it didn't work out so well. The ooze would always be a dead card in my hand.

The issue with dark whispers is that if you use it for the buff then it's a big mana investment for something that is usually going to be silenced, weak to BGH, or just die to hard removal. In most situation I would prefer to run Bolderfisr Ogre than Dark whispers, 6 mana for 5/5 of stats compared to 6/7 of stats is a big difference. Maybe it's worth it if you greatly value the taunt, but I would run ancient of war if you wanted a big late game taunt.
Generally a card like Dark Wispers just doesn't stand with other 5 drops, as not only are the stats poor, but also very susecptible to aoe, but every card does have its moments.

Also when Patron was a thing, you didn't want all the 1/1s to help trigger its ability.
Angry Chicken
I'm not using it for the wisps, it's the 5/5 and taunt that does it. I agree, 5 wisps is generally useless.

Dark Wispers + Echoing Ooze: 10% of the time, it wins 100% of the time.

Try Ooze in a Hobgoblin paladin (with Annoy-o-Tron, Haunted Creeper, Argent Squire, and possibly Micro Machine—Lance Carrier might be really good too). Throw in Blessing of Wisdom with those other buffs. It's not a super competitive deck, but I rode it up to rank 3 or so a few seasons ago, and it's certainly a lot of fun.
