so anyone who has watched Kripps latest video it's pretty clear that recycle is a very awkward card for it's mana value, do you guys think this card is fine? do you think that if the meta changes to control that it'll be used more often?
I don't think the card is "fine". It feels over costed for what it does and I don't understand why it wasn't costed at 5 mana. Yes, the deathrattles do not go off, but the card is shuffled back into the deck, so the minion isn't destroyed. That feels like a fair trade off at 5 mana, but at 6 it's just, as you said, awkward.
Assuming it's used on something that's greater than 6+ mana, there's an excellent chance that the card will be drawn again.
They won't ever fix it though. Blizzard is against buffing cards. If you're a druid player, one can only hope that BRM brings something interesting to the Druid card set, because the last two rounds have been very underwhelming for Druid specific cards.
I hate it and I feel like a prostitute for using it. Due to a lack of anything better, I run it in my Ramp Druid. Today I had to use it on Dr Boom, to which the guy responded with a 'Thank You'. Self-loathing obviously ensued...
I believe it should be 4 Mana, 5 max. 6 is just absolutely crazy for what it does.
if druid ever gets good hard removal they will be on top of the food chain.. thats why they get stuff like naturalize and recycle.. so i think the card is totally fine.. if u really want hard removal but hate this one then just use naturalize, but don't expect the class to get good HRemoval ever (for the sake of balance)
I think the card needs a more interesting effect if they want to keep the mana cost and make it viable, either in Arena or Constructed. Right now it's a terrible card in either.
"Shuffle an enemy minion into the opponent's deck and restore health equal to its mana cost to your hero."
"Shuffle an enemy minion into the opponent's deck. Draw a card."
"Shuffle an enemy minion into your deck. Your opponent restores health equal to its mana cost."
Any of these would make the card a lot more viable and interesting.
I don't think it's a question of the card in and of itself, but of Druid just not having a current role for it. If you compare it to Warlock's Siphon Soul, they have the same mana cost except instead of 3 Health you get a "Silence" and the opponent gets an extra copy of the card in his deck - and considering the extra copy of the card in his deck isn't a "real" advantage unless you're really late in the game and he's guaranteed to redraw it I think too many people concentrate on the RNG element of the card instead of the "Silence."
Like, if instead of your opponent's deck it went into your deck, the card probably wouldn't be any more playable altho' I'm sure more people would play it - it's kind of a mental hang up. Your opponent saying "Thank you? just means he's an idiot, people do that all the time when I Sap Dr. Boom and they still die anyway because it was the right play. Haters be hating.
Edit: I do find it troubling tho' that Druids didn't get really a single playable class card tho', it feels like the only Hero besides Rogue who is stuck to like 1 archetype with a couple of variations and I really wish they'd give the class more aggressive options for like Aggro Druid or something.
I think it should be 4 mana. Freezing trap and sap are 2 mana ofc effect of recycle is greater so 4 mana tottal is ok i think. 6 is a waaaaaaay too much.
Apples and Oranges. You can't have both heavy ramp potential AND hard removal.
In arena, Recycle is not terrible like in constructed. Sure you would rather have hero power+starfire or starfall to clear a Sunwalker, but Hearthstone can’t give you good arena cards all the time, so Recycle fits as an average arena card. Recycle is still a better option than naturalize or poison seeds in arena.

This, pretty much.
Druids have great card draw (the most flexible of all classes, "best" is subjective), are the kings of mana management and have 2x silence basline with the amazing Keeper of the Grove. Giving them amazing boardclear or efficient hardremoval would be way too much.
I already said it in the Card discussion froum, but let's keep an eye on Rend Blackhand. Yes, it looks like a bad card in almost every deck, but it might be useful for druids if the Meta requires hardremoval without a devastating drawback. I could see myself using him to destroy the likes of Ysera or Kel'thuzad, or in general legendaries that are backbreaking if you don't have an answer.
Oh Recycle is garbage, make no mistake. That card is a joke through and through and I have no idea why they even made it. How can you fix it? You would have to take the cost way down to like 4mana at least.
But let's be honest, Blizzard has no intention of giving Druids an efficient hard removal. If Druids had that, they would be so top tier that it would be ridiculous. They already have insane value minions, insane card draw, insane tempo potential, insane burst potential and insane card flexibility. Druid doesn't need anything to make the class better, they just need cards that make for new play styles and so far that did a good job of that with cards like Grove Tender.
To bad that the retarded BGH situation makes cards like Mech-Bear-Cat, Druid of the Fang and Malorne worthless since for some stupid reason 7+dmg minions are worse than 5 and 6 dmg minions. They introduce cards that could make Mech Druid and Beast Druid viable, except it's not viable thx to BGH. Am I the only one who see's a long term potential problem with BGH? We certainly do need BGH to exist and the reasons should be obvious, but at the same time it makes a an entire subset of minions worthless.
Their approach simply seems to be to introduce more and more 7+ drops since there are only two BGH... but that doesn't work because there are no limited formats and existing cards still remain. Good luck dropping 3+ 7 drops even if you dare waste that much of your deck when chances of moving past round 7-8 are slim. Everyone seems to be a bit too optimistic that simply introducing new cards (situational ones at that) are going to invalidate face/aggro, I am not seeing it personally.
Recycle suffers from the same thing a lot of the BRM reveals do, they tried too hard to overly balance it and it ends up unplayed and unplayable as a result. If you are going to overcast a card there has to be some secondary upside that is worthwhile or else don't even bother.
Not every card has to be great, but that doesn't mean it can't be at least somewhat viable in some sort of deck. Recycle just looks like pure junk to me.
And yes, I hate Big Game Hunter. One ridiculously cheap card that suppressed the use of a lot of really fun minions. People LIKE to play big stompy dudes, it's fun. Big Game Hunter is a spoilsport.

card for reference: Recycle
I think it's really bad.

4 Mana would be sexy af

Time is money, friend.
Recycle is just another in a long list of Druid cards that cost 1 mana too much to be good.
Unless explicitly stated, my posts are my opinion and mine only.
I don't understand why they are so firm on this mindset, there are so many dead cards in hearthstone that will never see the light of day
The day Hogger becomes viable is the day I will pray 2 my Ben Brode statue, for now it's an overpriced Sludge Belcher

Dark Wispers 1 mana off playable ( ͡º ͜ʖ ͡º)
being legit though, what did they think druids were gonna do with this lmfao
The card is fine, it's meant to be a bad card. All cards can't be good.

It should be shuffled into your own deck instead ;)
Yeah I forgot we aren't theives :P
