Doubly thank you for bringing up this thread by commenting on the error in the OP, Vanex, I decided to crack open this deck for the first time in a while and I had a blast! I had forgotten about it for a while until I saw this thread.
Made a video of the few matches I played towards the end of the day, hope you enjoy watching and playing this deck as much as I do.
Why not give it a test run and tell me? It's a basic Murloc set and the only harder-to-obtain cards you may find are Starfire. You're still susceptible to AoE and the like, but the fact of the matter is you have leagues more direct damage to deal with the enemy compared to Warlock. I think it's a good trade-off alongside the inclusion of Power of the Wild as an offensive/defensive mix if you choose to remove something like the +2 health murloc.
Force of Nature + Savage Roar wins games, so I'm always hesitant to try it remove it. 14 damage without counting other minions!
At the end of the day, it's more of a fun deck to run, but I personally never know. Some of my other "joke" decks have been used as a basis for other competitively viable decks. Druid has always been my Murloc class of choice, Power of the Wild, Savage Roar, and Innervate are easily some of the best cards for burst and momentum aside from the cheap clear you get with Claw. Coldlight Oracle has a... natural place with Naturalize in the deck and finally Direct Damage will close out games.
With the surfacing of cards like Tinkmaster and The Black Knight, I think taunts will be easier to bypass and grant you some potential against the big-hitters that will definitely rise as some of the more prominent rush decks fade away.
I might craft my second Warleader and swap out Seer for Power of the Wild to go for a test run - I've never been a big fan of the +2 health and my threat is nowhere near the potential that a second Warleader can give.
For sure, Control decks costs one too many legendaries because the base set of cards don't have any game-ending power. The best "late game" card from the basic set is Stormwind Champion, and that says enough on its own. Just because of the lack of control from some of the class sets you see everyone shoving in The Black Knight and Tinkmaster Overspark into every control deck.
If you had all the spell support in the world, around a third of the deck would be legendaries, Druid decks pretty much show this methodology.
You can win games off those cards alone, even when not playing against a Druid! They're just the prime example of a class with big drops. Paladin often comes up when I think of requiring a transform, Tirion is ridiculous.
There's always something to transform, some classes don't have that form of CC and it's practically invaluable when dealing with late game. Faceless is a big favorite with Tinkmaster and Big Game Hunter is also found here and there.
That's my experience as well. I enjoy this deck but it has some definite limitations.
When I get the draws, we're done by turn 7. When I don't get the draws, I usually just concede at Turn 7. There's nothing saving you if you lose momentum.
Also, when faced against another druid or Warlock using Murlocs, I usually concede early. Most of the Murloc bonuses effect EVERY Murloc on the board, friendly or enemy, and sad to say but it's faster for me to concede and try another less savvy victim and hope for a win than it is grind out a probable loss against another Murloc deck.

Just played a variant of this deck against a hunter that was stacking cards.
Great fun to 2 x Coldlight Oracle and 2 x Naturalize and have him burn off absurd numbers of cards :D
Current fun deck: Yogg-S'Thun Stone
