Playing with 3 decks, rogue secrets, highlander rogue and highlander mage, mixed results vs anything and favored vs priests but every time I play vs spell druid (the other druid decks have mixed results too) I play a hopeless game and get smashed, feel like the days of prenerf druid in KFT release, I have only 5 manas and the druid already have 7 manas and a full board of minions and playing an insane number of free spells, ok, rogue can play a lot of free spells too but only after play 7 manas combination of minions or a full Galakrond setup and the opponent at this point have mana for powerful board clears, what you do when opponent play this insanity and you have only 5 manas?
Why this deck is not dominating the meta so hardly like the days of release of KFT?
Before someone say something like "Play the deck and see for yourself" I don't have the cards or the dust to do that, DH really counter them?
So, then is my usually bad luck doing the magic again? Everytime I play vs druid the 2 manas spell get 3 cards is played in turn 2 and the 2 manas crystal spell is played in turn 3 with the coin or Innervate, never, ever failed, not once. >.<
Cause the deck is a bit reliant on how you draw. And yes I know all decks rely on how you draw but this deck really really needs to draw the Fungal Fortunes early and then you also need to ger Kael on that mid game to break the game, if you don't then the deck doesn't do anything at all. If you don't get Kael you need the 5 mana swarm card and you need to hope the opponent can't clear many so you go forSoul of the Forestnext turn.
Also as you have a lot of spells that really don't do much and are only on the deck to allow you to get broken Kael turns so you can actually have a hand that's dead af from time to time, more than any other deck I would say. If you ramp on 4 and have Kael and spells to activate it and either a way to set a wide sticky board or draw a bunch of cards then of course the deck is the absolute nuts, but that can be said about any deck.
Im not an expert in spell druid, but it seems weak to aggressive decks, and one of the most popular decks, gala-lock has enough removal for them usually. And sometimes the deck just beats itself by burning KaelThas or the mountseller.
What happens when Control faces Combo? Combo is God Tier.
What beats Combo? Anything that doesn't give it enough time to operate.
I'm not going to tell you to play Spell Druid, but I'll tell you to play it's weakness, Aggro.
For someone playing Paper, Scissors is tier 0, but Rock doesn't see the issue.
Point taken, but maybe the druid is set apart because is much more faster to do the combo compared with other combo decks like the DH one, what I easily beat with rogue.
That said aggro really don't have problems with a deck capable of full board of minions and tons of free spells in turn 4 or 5?
Do you ever cook something in the microwave but it's still really cold in the middle and you just keep eating it instead of heating it longer because life is pointless and entropy is unavoidable and the universe is filled with callous and casual destruction.
Spell Mage actually gives me a lot of trouble as Spell Druid.
Spell Druid isn't a fast deck and 2xBlizzards, 2xNovas, Amazing Reno and extra discovered clears are a pain for a deck with non-infinite resources. Druid only makes 5 boards, more if you get lucky and get Zixor from Mountseller. Highlander Mage is probably much more inconsistent though.
Rogue's weakness really is dealing with wide boards, and Quest Druid was always favoured against them because of that and Spell is no different.
Tempo DH usually rekts Druid before you can get going though. You really need a godly draw (or them to not always have the nuts) to sutain the onslaught and overcome it.
Spell Druid is not a fast deck but it is much faster than Spell Mage and/or the various Highlander decks as it can create huge boards by turn 5. For me it is almost exclusively Tempo DH that destroys my Spell Druid. Even with a great draw and getting 5-6 Glowflies on the board in turn 4, they just play Altruis + Twin Slice and you are done. Only Exotic Mountseller board have a chance against them and those need a lot of luck to be built by turn 5. By the way, I so far find Exotic Mountseller much more consistent than Kael'thas in terms of creating value.
Oh c'mon. Let's not pretend spell druid is some sorta of meme combo deck.
The deck is absolutely consistent at achieving its plan, otherwise it wouldn't be a tier 1 deck. The only reason it isn't "god tier 0" as OP is asking is because it loses to aggro.
I tried a similar deck after getting smoked by opponents using similar decks. Played around 10-15 games, lost mosat of them. You really need Fungal Fortunes early on with KT or EMS to have any sort of hope to win. In my experience the deck is too inconsistent in doing that, I couldnt pull KT combo even ONCE. I was eaither dead before that or discarded my minions with Fungal Fortunes

In short: it’s inconsistent and draw-dependent

That doesnt do anything against them, treant is not a tribe.
It works against Exotic Mountseller boards.
Lmao, have you even tried the card to say such bs? It kills the 5 mana swarm and beasts from Mountseller.
If it kills the treants aswell, it would be absolutely bonkers non-sense, imagine one card (you can play 2x) destroys an entire archetype...
Its alright against beasts if they are not buffed but in general it wont save you.
EDIT: I didnt realize that the 5 mana spell generates beasts, so I guess its actually a good tech card in the matchup.

It's arguably one of the best cards in this expansion imo, it does the job against almost everything people are playing and the nerfs wont change it.
Crazed Netherwing
Plague of Flames
Hellfire
Chaos Nova
Mo'arg Artificer + Any Low Mana AoE
The odds of you getting these cards in your hand by 5th turn is more likely than Druids getting the board full and mana to 7 at 5th turn.

Ok, then, it is rogue and mage weak vs the deck and not the deck being so powerful.

Maybe... just maybe... cuz its not that good?
