New expansions mean revisiting old cards, to see if maybe now they can find a place in a deck to justify not dusting them. A challenge in particular? I'm talkin' Gloom Stag. Odd druid never really found ground, being overshadowed by monstrously successful combo decks, but that doesn't mean it can't find success this time. That being said, druid is only getting 4 new odd cards, almost completely unrelated, but there are a batch of new odd neutrals too.
Anyone else look forward to this experimental stage of a new expansion? Anyone have a good theorycraft they're whipping up? Or are there any other card/themes that are traditionally underwhelming that you're also looking forward to revisiting? I'm looking at you, Moorabi...
I already had a treant style druid deck going with Ixlid but was missing that little oomph it needed. Now with the new cards I'm very excited going forward.
My fun deck right now is a Tess Greymane in Wild, using the tendency of Burgle effects to not deplete hand size to power out Mountain Giants while maintaining tempo. But it doesn't match up to the overall power level of the meta despite the threat it carries, mainly due to the randomness of the cards illicitly obtained, and is especially weak in Standard. So I'm very interested in the newer cards from the expansion as there appears to be some support for this style of play.

Mountain Giant is often overlooked and is a great fit for slower value decks, sounds like a fun deck! Maybe in the chaos of the new expansion you can carve a path and get a feel for how it performs and tweak it accordingly!
I'm looking forward to making use of Millhouse Manastorm. Between Shredder 2.0 and call to arms, we can probably get him on the board consistently without triggering that horrible battlecry
Lastly, Bladed Gauntlet could be a sweet card with Crystallizer and Eternium Rover coming the turn before it. I think control warrior might shock some folks this expansion
I'm honestly most interested in bringing aggro back, as there are too many possible OTK decks around right now. My focus was on warrior first, but I have since shifted to hunter as it seems to have more burst potential. Paladin might be OK too, but I'm not seeing it yet (outside of already established aggro decks).
EDIT: Oh wow! I just realised priest has a lot of goblin bomb support. Aggro priest is definitely on my list.

LOL, I dig bringing Millhouse in! The best will be that 5 second pause when you feel how they don't know what just happened when he pops out, for better or worse!

All three of these are so against type, I love it! I also pulled a golden Splintergraft, so I'm feeling the challenge of using him (vs. dusting him and pulling another...).
I will try odd spell damage mage with Black Cat. I will also play many meat wagon mech decks!
Let's face facts though. There are no new freeze cards. Moorabi is dead and blizzard gave up on it. You have a better chance of activating him by happening to have Glacial Shard in your hand and accidentally rolling him off of The Storm Bringer.
Gloom Stag can only ever become an addition to an already established odd deck, no odd deck will ever be made around this card, just not worth it. Good luck with theorycrafting tho, that is ofc part of the fun as well :)

Amusingly, I actually have a decent odd druid built in my collection (It has a decent winrate though it will probably do much better with the addition of biology project). One obvious card it doesn't run is Gloom Stag because it is a beast and messes up witching hour. Gloom Stag is just not worth it even if you establish an odd deck :P

So, a spin on taunt druid? Or different beast synergy? Either way, glad you could find some odd-Druid luck, even without Gloom Stag, lol. I once tried to run a Void Ripper style Druid to flip all of its high health/low attack minions into a sudden burst attack turn, but it just wasn't consistent or fast enough.

Yeah, it's just taunt druid with starfall, baron geddon and such to not die to aggro. Most of the important bits of the combo are odd anyway and since you can't run DK in taunt druid, I thought the hero power might be useful. It's obviously not as good as classic taunt druid because of the lack of wild growth, swipe and critical 8 drops to resurrect
Void ripper actually sounds like an incredible idea! Not just in meme druids, but in real taunt druid too. You get fat dragons stuck to the board fairly often and since no one is going to play around it, maybe I can surprise people with a lethal sometimes. I need to try this out

Depending on what I open I will try and Putricide work.

Nice, Putricide definitely has strengths, and maybe something like Subject 9 can help fuel the secret draw. Curious to see!

Legend with : S65 Freeze Mage, S57 Maly Gonk Druid, S57 "Okay" Shaman, S53 Boom-zooka Hunter, S53 Maly Tog Druid, S52 Wild Tog Druid ft.Blingtron, S50 Quest Rogue, S49 Dead Man's Warrior, S41 Wild Clown Fiesta Druid, S41 Hadronox Jade Druid, S40 Wild OTK Dragon Druid, S35 SMOrc Shaman, S33 Jade Druid, S22 Control Priest, S19 Control Priest
I swear I will make a Blackguard deck work. We still might not have the synergy yet, but Crystallizer and Crystalsmith Kangor are both good starts.
Also, I opened a golden Splintergraft and I'll at least try him out in a hand/treant style deck. Synergizes with Mountain Giant, Arcane Tyrant and now Mulchmuncher. Is there nothing he cannot do?

Here are some lists:
Nice! I'm digging that priest, and love seeing EVEN hunter vs. the popular odd version!

I'd would like to get Bolvar, Fireblood with all the new divine shield stuff to work, but I'm expecting it to be too slow still.
I want to try a meme deck with Prismatic Lens, 1-cost secrets, Sound the Bells and finally Illidan Stormrage.
I will try odd spell damage mage with Black Cat. I will also play many meat wagon mech decks!
