I am playing C'Thun Druid. My opponent played Manegerie Warden on a 4/3. Giving him 6 mana 4/3 and 5/5. I played turn seven Twin Emps going me two 4/6 taunts. One of these things significantly better then the other.
I think the best comparison is not Savannah Highmane it is Faceless Summoner. Both are 6 mana 5/5 bodies. Both have the variance to give you anything from 2/1 to a 4/7 in the case of Summoner or 2/2 to a stealth 5/5 in the case of Warden. Though one is always playable and the other is situationally playable. It is the one the is always playable that already is in the game, is good in theory (especially in arena), but in practice too lack luster to see play.
Yeah, tell me about it. In a game today my opponent had a stealthed 5/5 which he buffed and targeted, getting another 7/7 stealth for free plus a 5/5. 12/12 of stats for 6 mana and targeting a creature I can't interact with. Turn 5 Stranglethorn Tiger, Turn 6 Innervate, Mark of Y'Shaarj, Menagerie Warden.
Try the card. I would blow my mind if he landed that combo more then once in 20 or so games.
I play almost strictly Priest, and coming from that point of view, Menagerie Warden is the final nail in the coffin for priest. Priest has absolutely no way of dealing with a 4/6 druid of the claw. And now, even less of a way of dealing with a copy of said 4/6 druid of the claw on the next turn. This card is so unfair it's funny.

People love to overhype situational cards, just like Cloaked Huntress, again, extremely situational, once people realized you need x,y,z for it to get value it never saw serious play again. Compare this to Twin Emperor and you will see what i mean, instant value that demands an answer for just 1 mana extra.
This remains situational because Everyone clears your board or you dont have a beast or the opponents board demands an answer and you cant play tiger/ warden or kills you faster than you can setup your highly predictable combo etc etc
Just like op said, card is not bad, but it is overhyped and situational and beast druid is definitely still a below average deck with no real power behind it.
Alright. So I always meant to get back to this thread when I got my validations. I got a lot of heat for calling this overrated after playing like 10 or so games the day it came out. I feel most of the time, unless your completely doing the wrong build you can tell pretty quick if a card is OP or just ok if your reasonably smart or stupid and just play a lot of hearthstone. Im probably the second but anyway now I can officially say I called it and anyone who thinks I called it too early can suck my salty balls cus I called the shit out of it.
Top decks just posted a thread about the most overrated and most underrated cards of Karazhan.
#1 most overrated card: Menagerie Warden

Funniest thing about this card....
Druid 6 mana uncommon rarity card: Menagerie Warden
6 mana, 5/5 body, likely copies a 4/6 taunt or 5/5 stealth.
Priest 6 mana LEGENDARY: Herald Volazj
6 mana 5/5 body, likely copies nothing, or a 1/1 copy of something crappy.
