For awhile now druid has been in its corner playing silently, hoping no one notices how unbalanced their ramp is. The attention was on the shamans with their powerful cards, then it was the warriors - but in the background, druid was always tier one, but no one complained because those two other classes were way too problematic to the hearthstone community to even mention druid. With the release of the new giants - druid will not only remain a tier one deck as it has been the past couple months - it is my prediction from what I have played against it will now take an overwhelming commanding lead because of the heavily discounted giants that were just released in the last wing. Being able to cheat mana constantly - fishing out threats and answers with ramp and innervate while being able to play nearly free 8-8's, is going to pose a huge problem, and sadly there is no solution. If there was no solution to their ramp in the past couple months considering it has been a silent tier 1 deck in the background - there will surely not be one now.
Its funny how we are back to this stage again, I thought the days of druid reigning supreme and cancering their way in every game would have stopped after the nerfs to their combo, but here we are, druid is once again at the top. If you haven't played against the giant deck that is soon to be terrorizing ladder like it does in high level play at the moment, you will see it soon enough. I made a thread a long time ago when combo druid was a problem and people scoffed at the idea saying it was a perfectly fine and balanced deck, and just like then, history will repeat itself, there will be people saying the class and deck is balanced; when in actuality it won't be.
Innervate, wild growth, and mire keeper are just way too strong in the meta right now. Nearly every deck is tempo based in the current meta, being able to play ahead of the curve constantly and finding answers to board solutions while cheating their mana and falling back on Yogg to clear the board is game breaking. Back then one may have argued, "but Druid has no great removal." That is no longer the case, between roots, swipe, mulch, and wrath, that is more than enough removal for a class - especially when it is the one laying down threat after threat that your opponent has to answer because they are the ones playing from behind - not the druid. This is not to mention the spell removals they find from raven idol. With countless removals, minion threats, the deck now contains mana discounted giants that can be plopped down for free while they are still laying down other threats, as if answering their minions wasn't already an issue in it of itself.
I am equally disgusted as I am disheartened to see druid reigning supreme yet again in this expansion and new adventure. We have a long road ahead till the next game defining card set is released - till then, expect to grow tired of druid or either play the class yourself - the choice is rather simple. Druid is here to stay.
There is definitely a lot more I would like to say on the topic - but I want to hear your thoughts around the class. Why should this class with the commanding tier 1 deck not be scrutinized like shamans or warrior have been the past couple months?
As someone who kind of brewed up a Yogg Druid deck as soon as the Arcane Giant was released yesterday, I will say it is very strong. With that being said, I don't really see the deck as particularly busted. You can get the God-draw openers with Innervate and whatever else like Violet Teacher or Fandral Staghelm into the nuts, and yeah that's pretty broken but I still don't see it as being nearly as broken (or easy to pull off) as some of the more oppressive Shaman starts (i.e. Trogg > Totem Golem > Coin Tuskarr + Golem/Flametongue type stuff).
It's a very strong deck but it requires a little more thought than simply vomiting out cards, especially given the number of legitimate "Choose One" choices. Any deck that relies on Yogg so heavily feels a little difficult to classify as Tier 1 for me as you're main win-condition being able to do absolutely nothing relevant or alternatively house you worse than your opponent is always a precarious place to be. The Giants have helped provide an alternate way to get there in the end, but I still think Shaman is a bigger "problem" for the meta.
A class being "here to stay" isn't a bad thing; I think it's actually great. We want less Priest Standard situations and more of every class being a viable standard player I think.
Druid doesn't have good board clear, what the hell does swipe do in the late game lol this is why people add Azure Drakes 9 mana board clear sweet. Mulch? Yeah give your opponent a minion aha. Druids have ramp because they don't have secrets or weapons like other classes. If you take away the ramp what do they have? There is no combo druid and yet you still cry for more nerfs. I would love to know what decks you play, trust me you play OP crap like everyone else bro.
Druid can always be a little frustrating if it hits a perfect opener or gets its early ramp and then draws into key cards. Fandral now also sets up scenarios in which you would've lost anyway, but salt gets poured on the wound because of the comically-awesome synergies he can cause if he sticks. But, it's the most "balanced" of the three classes with Tier 1 decks right now (Druid, Shaman and Warrior).
Druid is hard countered in a big way by aggro, particularly if the aggro is teched for token druid and mirror match-ups (midgame AOE can put the deck completely behind the eight ball if aggro has a board). Druid can overwhelm control and non-tempo midrange decks but is also quite susceptible to combo and a tempo deck with a strong opening. I actually kind of appreciate the deck since it basically obeys the aggro>>midrange>>control circle of life that we're supposed to see in this game, which not all decks do (looking at you, dragon warrior).
To me, Druid is similar to Tempo Mage, Miracle Rogue, or the Worgen OTK deck in that it feels utterly unbeatable when it draws perfectly; but there are also games in which it is never competitive. Very frustrating when it works well, but not consistent in the way that Dragon Warrior, Aggro Shaman, or even Zoo can be.
I play J4ckiechans token druid with wisps. the dmg output is absolutely ridiculous. Most of the time yogg is useless in this deck. But very strong if you fall behind on board.
There is nothing wrong with Druid. It lacks removal options and has recently been rekt by nerfs, Keeper of Grove and Ancient of Lore are seeing no play whatsoever, neither is Force of Nature. The ramping has always existed and isnt the problem, individual cards are such as Yogg being ridiculous when it works, the new Arcane Giant are just OP in general. As soon as i saw them i was like damn theyre gonna be in tons of decks, especially with Yogg being very popular right now. Its nothing to do with Druid, you will see them in a ton of decks. Welcome to new Arcane Giant meta. What a shame that we now have to consider running BGH again. Better nerf Druid and not the other classes that will also use the new giants to great effect.
I use Force of Nature in my Token/Yogg deck and it works wonders, and I have seen others use it as well. Still a solid card imho

Their ramping ability wouldn't be that strong if they did not have any card to snowball with. Oh, surprise! Fandral Staghelm! Swipe and spell damage! Violet Teacher! etc.
But the card I probably hate the most in the deck is still Yogg-Saron.

I'm finding it hard to win druid without the Strangle Feingold card that lets you get both of the "choose" options.

Not another druid nerf, please.
As long as the OP druid deck doesn't want to kill you by turn 6 it's perfectly fine for me
lol'd at Strangle Feingold. Must be Fandral's lawyer?
To OP, I say LONG LIVE DRUID. DRUID IS BEST.

Druid is fine, Yogg is bullshit
I tried having fun once. It was awful.

If Druid does druid things, it's very tough to beat. But if you miss that early ramp, the struggle is real.

Druid's ok. It's a good class. Ramp is it's unique thing and it's healthy for the game.
The class still loses to aggro shaman and is unfavourite to hunter/zoo/rogue , but not by a lot.
...
Missing lethal since June 2015.
You think this is bad, wait till they get Menagerie Warden xD
Lol at this thread. So the class with no removal, and awful aoe on top of that is frustrating. Okay. Here's a tip, play zoo. Frustration over.
I like the discussion thats permeated here.
