last I check most dh players do not trade with their HP they go face. paying 1 mana in combo with their overpowered warglaives and 0 mana add 1 damage twin spell is ridiculous not to mention when comboing with altruis just to name another broken card.
Cannot wait till they nerf it a second time and this class officially dies in the low ranks where it belongs for ruining the meta.
I trade all the time with the HP, especially against other Demon Hunters. it's the main way to win vs DH, especially if you get your card draw cards.
Should it have been 2 mana gain +2 attack this turn?
In some respect it could be even worse. Sure, more expensive. But removing 2 health minions with just a hero power? On turn 2 it would kill most 1 drops and 2 drops. Not even mentioning, how devastating it would be with Warglaives in the late game. Probably better than the current one.
Also it would directly powercreep another hero power. It's Hunter's hero power, version 2.0 - 2 face damage, which can also trade if necessary and provides an absurd of an early game. The only time Hunter's would be a bit better would be if you needed those 2 dmg to the face and there was a taunt. But it's only one case, while DH would be better in a bazilion of other situations.
Honestly, I like the 1-mana hero power. It's comparable to Rogue (since for Rogue it can be thought of as +1 attack for 2 attacks for 2 mana, while Demon Hunter is +1 attack for 1 attack for 1 mana). It helps make it feel distinct from Rogue by making Demon Hunter get all up in your face every turn to get the value, while Rogue feels more patient by comparison since they equip the dagger and wait to strike.
Then why does Mage's hero power cost 2 while DH's doesn't? DH also has cards that have synergy with his hero power while Mage doesn't. So why is DH's a 1-cost?
Mage's hero power is really different to DH. It ignores taunt and the Mage doesn't take any damage when they use it. That's why it costs (2) instead of (1).
I actually like the 1 mana cost hero power, mainly because it sets a precedent for non-2 cost hero powers haha. We might see a fun death knight or monk hero in the future now, or even hero cards with 3 mana cost. It's a pretty exciting time!
Unfortunately the world is obsessed with finding things wrong in everything they enjoy, so I guess it's not as exciting for others.

I see I hit a nerve with you talking about how broken DH is. You must be one of the nubs using it to hit your first time legend. Congrats, have fun till they obliterate it to where the class belongs! in the trash!
Anyone trying to defend DH is lying to themselves.
regardless if you like the class or not, its still broken and over powered, pro's and experts in the game even can admit it.
Just prepare yourself for another nerf because I can guarantee you it will be happening.
Do you honestly think the majority of players care that DH will get nerfed? Oh no, trust me. They're the type of players who only want to win and that's it. So they'll just jump on to the next tier S deck (which they can craft with golden cards since they have so much dust from all those wins) and continue winning.

You are funny... just go complain abouth something else that dint need nerfs. XD

Mage's hero power is really different to DH. It ignores taunt and the Mage doesn't take any damage when they use it. That's why it costs (2) instead of (1).
Kayn Sunfury also allows you to ignore taunt. All those Mage cards are in separate expansions; DH has them all in Standard. DH can also hit 17 damage with his Hero Power in one turn if the right cards are in play/in his hand. None of the cards you mentioned are even close to the power level of DH's hero-power synergy cards.

Kayn Sunfury is a 4 mana legendary required for DH's hero power to ignore taunt, whereas Mage's hero power does it by default. And again, Mage takes no damage when they use it, unlike DH if they use it on a minion. This is still why Mage's hero power should cost more than DH's by default.
I know a lot of Mage's hero power cards have rotated, that's why I said "...has had...". I was just showing that your point that Mage doesn't have hero power synergy cards is false.
How does DH hit for 17 with their hero power in one turn? Like, specifically, what combination of cards are you referring to? I could see the argument that using your hero power with Warglaives of Azzinoth equipped means that it does 4 damage (+1 damage per swing with the weapon), but I don't see how you can do that much with the hero power alone. Are you counting Metamorphosis, since even then that's only another 5. How are you getting 8 extra from the hero power?
I belive this also has something to do with them hireing chakki. He was known for being a aggro main player and thats why i expected to see a boost for aggressive decks.
I think we need a buff... to the spelling and grammar of those in this discussion.
But on topic now...
The 1 mana hero power was clearly a design choice. Someone already linked a video detailing Blizzard's choices and thoughts around this topic. So, it isn't going anywhere any time soon, and will probably never change. You can disagree with it and post on forums all you want, but like many other things in life you might not like, it isn't going away, and you'll just have to deal with it.
Same goes for the power level of Demon Hunter in general for now. Is it over-tuned still after two rounds of nerfs? I would say yes, but not massively so, and I'm guessing that it is currently pretty close to where Blizzard wants it. After all, it makes no sense to introduce a new class only to have it immediately or quickly become irrelevant in the meta. That's just a terrible business decision; Blizzard would much rather it be slightly overplayed / overpowered than slightly underplayed / underpowered, because that's the reasonable business choice here. So, they won't be "nerfing it into the ground" any time soon either. Will they eventually nerf DH in the future? Of course; name me a class that hasn't ever had a nerf to one of their class cards (I'll save you the time; they've all been nerfed at some point).
Also, if your logic on the DH hero power is that it is too much damage output (at least to the HP of their opponent), then you should have just as much of a problem with Hunter's hero power, as it is as mana efficient, and completely ignores both taunts and targetability.
But that's really not the hero power doing that damage, is it? The bulk of that damage is from cards that have nothing to do with the hero power and could be done regardless of if you press the button. It's just total damage from a bunch of attack boosters. Taking what they were saying before about Mage, it's like saying Mage can do 13 damage with their Hero Power by using 2x Fireball. Or it's like saying Druid can do 9 damage from their hero power by using 2x Bite.
Basically what I'm saying is, it's nonsense to say that the hero power is doing 17 damage here. It's totally fair to say that DH has too many class cards that allow it to burst for 17 damage, but not that the blame is on the hero power specifically.
I don't give a dam if they want it to be aggressive class.
mage hp only does 1 damage and costs 2.
The thing is, Mage, with 2 mana cost hero ability, can take out a 2/1 minion with no consequences.
Demon Hunter, can also take out a 2/1 minion with it's hero ability, but it's hero ability only cost 1 mana. However, in order for DH to take out the same 2/1 minion that a Mage can take out, the DH has to attack said minion, thus taking 2 hit points to the face, to do with 1 mana, that which a Mage has to use 2 mana to do. Only Mage doesn't have to take any hero damage.
I think we need a buff... to the spelling and grammar of those in this discussion.

Far too sensible, no point really bothering to he honest. You're dealing with immature, irrational people and there will be no sensible debate. The one thing I genuinely dislike about the internet is that it forces me into coming across absolute idiots, despite the site (like this) being a valuable source of information.
They can't win in this situation and it's a shame because when you watch the linked video, you can see they have really tried and genuinely care about the work they're doing on this game. If they released it and it was Tier 3, people would be up in arms, calling them useless and accusing them of rushing a bad class just for a cash grab. If it's marginally at the top, as it is now, you get what we currently have and people look down on it being used.
Which is mental, I've seen post after post after post requesting another class etc, they release one and you have a decent section of the players immediately judging anyone who dare use it. I've seen streamers actively brag about having few or no wins with the class, like it's some sort of medal.
Don't ask for new things and then label anyone who dares okay around with it as a 'fan boy' which is such a cringe expression in itself, my 11 year old has matured past using it.
Is the class strong? Yes. I genuinely don't feel it's oppressive though, I much prefer seeing a Demon Hunter over a Face Hunter, for example. It's got a cool flavour and different mechanics and I'd hope they view it as a success so that other classes might be released in the future. If they draw the nuts you're probably going to lose, unless you do as well but that's the case with a lot of classes. As it is, I wouldn't bother if it was me on the Dev team and I'd stick to more vanilla, bland releases just to be safe.
Don't think I've seen anything released without people kicking off in this game. Comfortably the worst community I've seen in a game. Incredibly childish and ignorant.

I assume the 17 damage comes from having equipped Flamereaper earlier and playing Inner Demon + 2 x Twin Slice + Hero power. Actually one could theoretically play Kael'thas Sunstrider + Twin Slice + Inner Demon + Twin Slice + Inner Demon + Hero Power for 25 damage from the hero in one turn
But that's really not the hero power doing that damage, is it?
