I don't understand why people think this card is the end all be all and will make dragon decks viable. The stats are bleh but the taunt is a nice bonus. People seem to look at this card as though it has a free hellfire slapped on to it which is not true. It can blow up your own stuff and is also unreliable, you won't always have dragon in hand. And don't even start with the mind games crap, even if the opponent thinks you might have a dragon, it is way to easy to play around. It doesn't even counter patron that well, as its too slow and unreliable. This ends my rant, I have prepared my anus for what is about to come.
well, if chillmaws DT would kill your board then i dont know why you would play him :P also he is pretty good against patrons and cannot be BGHed, btw, you could see him as a tech card like harrison and the black knight you play him if you are facing a lot of patrons or midrange/aggro
You build a deck around it... Also you're in control of your board when you play it, it only blows up your board, if you want it to or don't care. You can't predict what happens to your shitty boombots either.
You don't play chillmaw on a board full of your minions. I mean, if you have a full board, then what's the point of taunting up? You play him when enemy crushes you.
This card is infinitely better than abomination. 2 damage to all minions is awful because it's not enough impact on the enemy to neglect your own board. Chillmaw is very very potent because 3 damage kills way way more targets, including patrons. Also, the value and defense in one card is off the charts, even Dr. Boom is countered by this guy because it trades with boom and nukes the bots and anything else in play. Truly good control card and will be played. Running Chillmaw with Eadric the Pure gives Paladins so much better control and late game. Watch out for when a Paladin hits 7 mana, your board is going to get crapped on.
What class has the hardest time against patron? Paladin. What class has the best dragon synergy card? Paladin. What archetype was really inconsistent because it didnt have any dragon synergy taunts? Dragon Paladin...there you go, you have your answer.
Wow. The aggro meta has really taken a toll on some people. 'Either a card is aggro or it sucks'.
Also, you're judging a card without having used it. That pretty much has ended your credibility. Go post on gamefaqs or something. The negative community will accept you with open arms there.

Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.
It's an interesting card, and like a lot of the TGT cards, requires a little bit of a imagination and deck creation to make it work. It seems like it will be rewarding to use but not straight up powerful like Dr. B or shredder. I like cards like these.
This
TGT will focus around OP combos, not OP cards.

And don't even start with the mind games crap, even if the opponent thinks you might have a dragon, it is way to easy to play around. It doesn't even counter patron that well, as its too slow and unreliable. BUT MOST OF ALL, I have a hard time ever considering someone who thinks that a senjin with one more health and an ok but unreliable 7 drop will make dragon decks great somewhat close to an intelligent being when it comes to hs. This ends my rant, I have prepared my anus for what is about to come.
It's more controllable than abomination for one ( a lot of time you will have one of the 9 drop dragons in your hand, so you know whether to play this or not at 7), the extra health and attack matter quite a bit, and the dragon tribe helps a lot. Not to mention name another 7 drop thats good vs aggro or midrange when you are behind. If you say boom, you are only kind of right. Boom doesn't keep you alive, boom only works if you have enough life to live at least 2 more turns most of the time. This, even without the DT, can buy you 1-2 more turns, and with the DT can create a huge swing turn.
As for Twilight Guardian you are looking it in the context of the current meta not the possible changes for one, also the fact that it gives a good 4 drop dragon that isn't gimmicky (like twilight drake, dragonkin sorcerer, and hungry dragon), and gives you a solid drop against aggro (again unlike hungry dragon). You might have noticed sen'jin is getting more play lately as well as people realize there is more room fora good taunt in 4 drops (decks that want taunts don't necessarily want shredder despite how good it is) than 5 drops. This also opens up the 5 drop slot more.
Not to mention, I don't think I have ever seen anyone say sen'jin is bad at all. It's still a great card for what it does. Both it and belcher are good vs aggro, and this will be as well. The reason it makes dragon decks a lot more viable is it covers two of their weaknesses. The first being a lack of decent dragons, the second being good taunts that can bridge between the early and mid game when you start getting to your more powerful plays.
There is also the fact that viable dragons also mean the dragon synergy cards become inherently better. Blackwing Technician can now actually see play, as there are enough dragons that the chances you can play it and have it activate on turn 3 increase dramatically, which turns it (stat wise) into the best drop in the game.
It not that they are super powerful alone, it's the fact that they are dragons that are completely playable without gimmicks (at least for the 4 drop, chillmaw is somewhat gimmicky but also a bridge between your mid game and the 9 drop dragons) automatically buffs all the dragon synergy cards as well.
I get that they are not super exciting by themselves, though neither is actually bad. It's their effect on all the other cards with dragon synergy that makes them exciting.
Not sure I can agree OP. While this card is super weak to silence. I don't think it is too slow. Patron combo usually happens sometimes after turn 7/8 anyway. If they use their first combo before, and you don't control the initial board, then you are doing something wrong anyway most likely.

Thank you for taking the time to write out a well thought out response that clearly explains to me the other side of the fence. Also thank you for not writing an insult that does not help the conversation in any way and just serves to provide hate. Yeah, thanks for that.

Just troll thread obv. Nobody said chillmaw will make dragon decks viable. The 4 mana 4/6 taunt will....chillmaw is just an adition, ok card not so great but ok. So kinda dumb thread that just shows that autor hasnt much knowlege about the card set :)

I agree with every thing but the taunt part. Generally a taunt is nice to protect your minions.

I'm excited at the idea we are getting closer and closer to have a competive dragon deck possible. As much as I love playing the ladder I also love playing fun decks.
I also forgot to mention above, people have forgot that good taunts are great anti-aggro tools. The problem is that 90% of the vanilla taunts took much to big of a hit to their stats due to having taunt to be worth it, or have more attack than health which is also meh for a taunt. GvG added in belcher to help with this, and now for dragon decks we have twilight guardian and chillmaw which also help. 6/6 (even for 7) is much better than a 7/7 due to it dodging bgh.

A. Never once did I say that the card isn't that good because it doesn't help aggro. I think that the meta will slow down, making cards like varian and mist caller great.
B. Judging a card without using it? Isn't that what EVERYONE else is doing? Isn't that the reason I made this forum?

Kibler has said he actually thinks his dragon mage could be competitively viable even before TGT, he won't play it in ATLC because it's untested so he doesn't want to do it in a team tournament, but he was considering it for his next solo tournament run.
Democracy has spoken and Chillmaw is: wait for it... good. Yeah :>
It is impossible to say who is right before the expansion launches. Just because some people it is good/bad doesn't mean it is that. Nay I remind you of Troggzor?

See, this is where I can tell you actually don't completely grasp the way the game works. Troggzor the Earthinator is an amazing card in control vs control matchups or a slower metagame in general. It just does not fit in the current metagame. It also got outclassed by Dr. Boom. Honestly I I predict Troggzor the Earthinator will see more play after TGT.
