The Black Knight, a once beloved card, has gone missing. It is not like there are less Belchers being played. Is it just too much of a dead card nowadays if it doesn't find a target?
The decrease of control decks in the meta probably provoked the extinction of this once-great tech card, which is just a dead card against face decks and a pretty weak one against zoo.
It was amazing back when there were fewer choices, before GvG doubled the HS Card Collection. I still use it in Unranked Mode
Pretty much this to my enormous disappointment. He was my first golden legendary - in fact my first legendary - so he has always had a special place in my heart/decks. I think the owl has sort of taken over as you now use 2 mana to get rid of a taunt and then have 4 more to slap something else down or board clear.
There are better 6 drops now and ultimately less taunts as the meta has increasingly gotten faster and more refined every season... what targets are really that valuable that TBK is going to get rid of? Belcher is the only target for this card besides the rare ancient of war you might run into. Pretty much nobody plays sunwalker anymore and even most paladin is just aggro so tirion is not even a target anymore. So that leaves what... annoy-o-tron? Why run a 6 drop yeti that kills an annoy-o-tron. The amount of deathrattle cards in the game has increased the value of other cards making cards like TBK less valuable, but even Cairne never see play anymore because there are just better cards to play... they aren't bad, they just aren't top tier anymore.

Haha that is crazy! He was my first Legendary/Golden Legendary! I guess that is why I brought it up. Every once in a while I peruse through my collection and there he is. All alone.
4 attack doesnt trade with 5hp minions, which dominate the meta and also it doesnt rly do much vs belcher and also 6 mana slot is VERY contested and this guy just doesnt make the cut now :)
The Black Knight was enjoying being a top card in the meta where almost every deck ran a taunt. One day he received a call from his Dad, his Mom had passed away. TBK was very close to his Mom and this hit him hard. He started drinking and this turned to heavier drug use.
Eventually his wife couldn't raise their kids in the sort of environment that he was creating and left to raise the kids on her family farm. Vowing to get his family back, he started training once again to be a contender. Soon he realized that this was not the same sport it was on his rise to the top. The field was full of athletes using PED's to gain stardom. Eventually his own scruples broke down and he started using too.
During a random drug test, he was found out. Due to the previous drug use, he was banned from the league. He threw himself from a bridge in the town he had grown up in while wallowing in disgrace.
At least with the current lack of 6 mana drops, it would mean that that new 6 mana minion released today might see some play if a control meta comes to rise. So a positive note, if a little off-topic.

Master Jouster. Who in their right control mind won't use this? So tbk will see light indeed.
People stopped playing Ancients of War. Handlock dropped in popularity.
Now, the meta is more diverse and fear of aggro decks makes Black Knight seen in bad light compared to Cabal Shadow Priest.
It gains value almost exclusively on taunted giants and ancients of war. Nothing else. Even belcher is not game-winning, for the cost of a card that sits in your hand and could have been an elven archer, or a mech-bear-cat, or anything else.
There is a cost associated with running hate cards. This cost is reduced by having reliable draw mechanics, eg warlocks.
If you do run into a druid, or a handlock, you will more likely than not draw black knight 3 turns too late. It's the shaman/rogue bgh problem. Rogue WANTS to run bgh because Dr Boom and Ragnaros are SO DEVASTATING because they can't be sapped effectively. Unfortunately, BGH will sit in your hand with no target , or come into hand 3 turns too late, more often than on time. This makes BGH a BAD ROGUE/SHAMAN card. While Handlocks can afford to run it, despite being a useless card in vast majority of matchups.

Still a valid card with special action. Yes it may have lost the spot in most of the decks due to the heavy aggro that the current meta has, but it is a solid 6 drop that can be reactivated if there will be new meta and new control decks that currently is going to happen as it seems with the new expansion.
Even Sylvanas Windrunner is decreasing in her apperance, it's just too slow against aggro. Basically any card that doesn't help you against patron/aggro is not that popular right now.

No Ramp Druid = No TBK

If taunt Warrior becomes a thing he may be good again
Does it help against any of the top decks?
Facehunter, Patron, midrange hunter, zoo: No across the board.
Handlock: Yes
In fact it will be good to see it been played again in TGT because of the knights theme =)

Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.
sorry i didn't realize TGT was already out on EU

We should start a club! Oh the exclusivity...
He might find a way back though if taunt warrior and that new card with joust 5/6 w/divine shield becomes a thing

Master Jouster works if you play a control heavy deck like control warrior it's a 60% and i think it's worth gambling

And there's Emperor Thaurissan, best 6-drop in game.
