I mean seriously. Nerfing Pyroblast? Keeping Mysterious Challenger and Mad Scientist? I think I'd be better than the Hearthstone developers, and I'm 14 and only been playing for a few months. It's friggin common sense. Stupid developers are the reason that Hearthstone is going downhill. This game has a lot of potential, and it's sad to think of how good it is and how good it could be.
Why the fuck does every second random guy on the internet who plays Hearthstone say the game is dying?! Just understand it once and for all - the game ISN'T dying just because you lost 3 games in a row at rank 25, stop with this bullshit!

Your right, it's not dying... YET. Have you seen how unhealthy it's getting?!?!?!?!?!?! If Blizzard makes another stupid expansion with mega OP cards then everybody is going to run the deck that it works in. Not saying all cards should be the same, just balance the game a bit.
At the time that they were nerfed, the cards you've mentioned were very prevalent. Like, they were in the majority of decks that you faced. It was unfun. Mad Scientist is a bit strong, but you can silence it...eh. And Mysterious Challenger is pretty new - it might be nerfed it the future, but not for a while.
Anyways, what changes would you make, that you think would be better that those of the dev team? I'm not saying they wouldn't be better, but what specifically would you change, other than some disagreements over nerfs?

Ok, I'd change Mysterious Challenger to cost either 7 or 8. Maybe I wouldn't change undertaker, though. Just weird to see a card that was used SO much just disappear. I'd change Mad Scientist to cost 3, because it already gets you AT LEAST 3 mana of value. I'd change Boom's minibots to deal 1-3 damage to a random enemy. I love Boom, and realize that it is one of the cards that needs a nerf the least, but still its a bit OP. That's about it right now...
*Edit
I'd also make a new adventure, Ice Crown Citadel, and make Undead a tribe. I'd start working on some new way to earn gold or get packs like the tavern brawl. But I'd not blow out all of the ideas at once. I really hope Blizzard doesn't run out of ideas.

Wow, you must be some kind of game designing prodigy if you seriously think you can design a game at your age and with your level of experience and studying in the subject. Man, my time spent studying game design must have been absolutely wasted compared to your all-mighty knowledge.
Look, here's how it is. If you want to make people try new things, you need to give them the tools they need to make them work. And in order to make them appealing, they have to look powerful. Sometimes they are too powerful, as was the case with Undertaker, but without that card the archetype would probably not even have seen the light of day, hell it's pretty much dead since the nerf. Mysterious Challenger is arguably in the new spotlight. Mad Scientist is an accepted part of the game now, and because of it Mage can actually play Secrets in a competitive format! I mean how great is that, considering that a large portion of their entire class had cards that could barely be played? There is a difference between aggressively pushing an archetype into the game and being a poor developer who poorly balances cards. Blizz can absolutely make mistakes, but it's only through testing the boundaries that we see where the line is drawn.

The game is in a much better state than pre-nerf undertaker or pyroblast. Even OTK molten warrior the meta was pretty one-sided. It was bad. I can play almost any archtype of deck now and make it to rank 10-5 without really making much of an effort. I pushed up to rank 9 the other night screwing around with mill warrior and majordomo mage, all with decent win rates. The current batch of cards are not unhealthy to the game, if you've only been playing a few months give it another few and watch the meta evolve from a new release. If anything watch and see what happens to the meta then watch what happens to the forums, there will be some other kid crying about why xyz wasn't nerfed and how mysterious challenger is nothing compared to the new threats
Alright, someone just close this thread. You guys made points to me that made me learn more about the game. I was a bit salty when I made this because I went from rank 14-16 with losses to about 5 secret paladins. Like I said, I didn't play when undertaker was huge, and I never knew that it was. I was too bold when I wrote this and not very educated about the game. My bad.

It's cool. Everyone gets salty once in a while and we all just need a way to deal with it. And to be fair, there are far worse ways to take out the salt than posting on a forum.

Now, while Mad Scientist (in my opinion to a lesser degree) and Mysterious Challenger may seem OP in today's Hearthstone scene, you could (with almost absolute certainty) say that in some future iteration of the game the cards will seem just fine.
Playing against Pyroblast or Mind Control back when they were 8 mana was really hard, since you couldn't effectively counter it, where nowadays you could probably react much better considering the new cards that have been released.
The thing is, they (Blizzard) do no wish to modify (nerf) cards that are not impacting the current meta game in a way where using said cards provides such advantage that playing without them is unimaginable and impossible. Sure, Mysterious Challenger may seem OP, yet there are midrange paladin decks used in the current meta which do not run that card, its a niche card for a niche deck type, nothing else, hell its not even that hard to play against it once you realize how to deal with it correctly (of course, if you opponent has perfect draws on curve, you will probably loose no matter what).
There have been many cards that were changed (or removed completely even) because they were just silly to play against (most of the staple druid cards for example, for those who remember Face Hunter is slow compared to the old Druid back in HS alpha), but still in today's context most of those cards could stay in their original unchanged form, the thing is that it just is counterproductive to go and change them back now again.

Undertaker was ridiculously broken, potentially worse than mysterious challenger and definitely worse than mad scientist. It needed a nerf
If you don't think Undertaker deserved a nerf, I can't take you seriously at all.

Can't tell if serious or trolling... Is this guy seriously questioning the Undertaker nerf?

Lol, I don't think he played during those dark times.
10/10 BM
Ok guys, my bad. Undertaker needed a nerf.
I would say the same to your comment...

And yet you think you're qualified to comment on the wisdom of nerfs that happened long before you ever even saw this game?
Ill explain why with one word: CONTEXT
If you look at Pyroblast today, and compare it to the former version of itself, you could say it could remained the same. The same could be said for Mind Control, Sylvanas Windrunner, or Starving Buzzard.
Now, while Mad Scientist (in my opinion to a lesser degree) and Mysterious Challenger may seem OP in today's Hearthstone scene, you could (with almost absolute certainty) say that in some future iteration of the game the cards will seem just fine.
