Ok guys both have great value, so I want to know what do you think who can be better in that spot. My vote goes for Piloted Shredder because it doesn't have any drawbacks compared to Hungry Dragon, so what do you think?
Piloted Shredder can't be dealt with efficiently without silence or board presence but Hungry Dragon has amazing stats on curve especially when you already have presence.
Tough choice but I pick shredder simply because it's so hard to go about removing efficiently without silence or hard removal
I know that Hungry Dragon is better in dragon synergy decks, but overall(im talking overall) and you said that you will put Piloted Shredder in regular decks, so you just said it.
It depends on the situation IMO. Shredder is a more sticky minion. If you think about it hungry dragon will most of the time be a 5/4 unless you can deal with the minion it gives on your opponent the turn you play it (which I am not saying will be hard). We will just have to see the other cards that will be released and the dragon synergies
So, for example, we are playing against aggro(the majority in the ladder) with a Dragon themed deck, it is safe to give them a minion or use removal on that minion, is like we are giving them weapons to kill us, and we will waste tempo/cards to kill that guy(maybe is nothing relevant), the only thing that i see there is Mind Control Tech, thats the case when you dont lose anything.
This is one of those cards that will feature pretty heavily, same as Piloted Shredder now does. I think it will be one of those cards that you learn to play around like Boom because it lands so regularly - especially once it is released.
Would you run it? - depends on your deck I guess. Probably going to be OP at first then will resolve itself same as most cards that look magnificent but then turn out to have flaws. It will also depend on the dragon synergy Blizz introduces as we have only seen 2 cards to date with this new mechanic and a dragon. Probably going to be tough to decide yet until we see more cards from Blackrock.
Hungry Dragon + Mind Control Tech is an awesome turn 7 (turn 6 with coin) combo if you're playing someone with 3 or minions out by then. Often an opponent will have exactly three and not play a fourth because of potential MCT...this counters that and is a huge tempo swing. Aggro hunters, paladins, mech mages...most will have 3 minions out by then.
The Hungry Dragon helps a lot with tempo. It works the same way as Dr. Boom, without being too OP: if you have board presence you can push for lethal or, if you don't, you get a big board presence with one single and cheap card.
Against control or ramp decks, the 1 cost minion might be just a small nuisance. Against fast aggro decks, however, giving an opponent a 1-mana minion can be a reasonable advantage. Think of a Zoolock getting an Argent Squire, Loot Hoarder or even Leper Gnome for free before turn 4 or 5, with some board presence already. It could backfire on you.
With the Shredder, you are trading tempo for stickiness, giving a harder choice for your opponent in terms of trading or removal.
On the other hand, it's another way that the Hungry Dragon can shine, by luring opponents into spending big removals on them. I think it will work in a similar way as the Zombie Chow does for certain decks.
I think shredder will continue to be the aggro players choice of card but I think the hungry dragon will be better for control decks as I think it is stronger then shredder when both are played off curve.
Shredder is a hands down better minion against priest though and hungry dragon is a hands down better priest card..... interesting food for thought.
for me the best comparison is with Mechanical Yeti. I know it's a different cost, but the fact you give your opponent something, at random is a HUGE liability. We've seen yeti all but drop off the map in anything but Mech Mage, and that's the reason why. I'm excited to try it - but you'll know when you play it whether you've just won or lost the game.
Outside of Dragon decks, I highly doubt that Hungry Dragon will be used at all. It's not good enough (compared to a vanilla Chillwind Yeti which is a 4/5 for 4) for +1/+1 stats AND giving them a 2/1 or better. Plus, if he gets removed after you play him, you essentially just gave them a minion AND lost mana.
I just can't see Hungry Dragon being good besides in a few very niche areas.

Um, what about Hungry Dragon's potential synergy with Foe Reaper?
Since Foe Reaper deals additional damage to his target's adjacent minions, Foe Reaper can take less damage when trying to get rid of a big target by attacking the newly spawned 1 drop instead.

I can not wait for Hungry Dragon, it rolls over Casual because Shieldmaster is an auto-include in any deck out there. Belcher? Cow? Bodyguard? Lord of Arena? Fuck your walls, i have a mother fucking dragon

I think it depends on how I tech the deck. For example, in Rogue a turn 4 Hungry Dragon + Backstab would be insane tempo.
In other decks, I'd rather have a minion that replaces itself.
Feel free to add me if you play on NA! iMPose#1429

Shredder will bring more value on the long term. Hungry Dragon will bring a bigger body.
Used to be a proud Handlock player.
Legend 17 times.
Still flirting with the ladder from times to times with Renolock.
Mmm
Does anyone think Hungry Dragon will just take the place of Shredders?
Piloted Shredder because my opponent won't try and heavily to remove from board unless he is losing.

Hungry dragon is probable better in a dragon synergy deck or a rogue deck, while shredder is better in most other decks.

hungry dragon in agro shredder for everything else
If you can't beat them, join them

Pit Lord! Psyche.
I will prefer Hungry Dragon, probably, but I'm rank 15 at best usually. I like other stuff like Arcane Nullifier X-21, Chillwind Yeti, Mechanical Yeti, and stuff.
