Seriously, a simple rare card that deal 10 damage against Eye of C'Thun that is part of a legendary card, deal only 7 damage, this is just a pure bad design.
Yes, it's 2 mana less but you can only have one per deck.
I'm not convinced that comparing to Eye of C'Thun is a fair example, given that the random damage done by the Eye is only part of the effect. By the same token, you could compare it to Arcane Missiles and complain that it costs 7 times as much but only does three times the damage. An1ron's point is well made, in that Mask really comes into its own following a board clear.
Mask is a test like every other powerful card in Hearthstone where the onus is on you, the mage's opponent, to anticipate and work to counteract their threats. No different to Tickatus, Psychic Scream, Leeroy or a dozen other match-defining cards over the years.
Mask is a good card, but far from OP. The problem is that Mage can sometimes play it for 5 mana after a few very cheap removals for massive face damage, but the problem is Incanter's Flow and not Mask.

100% True. Playing this card at turn 7 with no spell damage is not OP at all, because at turn 7 your opponnet probably has a lot of minions on the board avoiding face damage and you've spent all your 7 manas to do 10 damage. If you want to nerf this to only minions it should cost less mana, if not It'll a useless card in my opinion.
The problem is that no minion mage makes it feel OP for the removal, draw and discount the deck has.

If you have problem with mask, play minions so they will absorbe damage. Card is totally fine.
No it's not.
It is. There are other problematic cards in mage.
... It's a fine card... Seriously can you stop hating on mage cards!? Did we choosed rng?? Would we prefer less rng legendary??
This card is fine and you should Really think why this card should be too strong....

It's 3.3 times the damage of Arcane Missiles, for 7 times the cost, and Arcane Missiles isn't overpowered.
Its damage per mana ratio is also extremely similar to Eye of C'Thun and Avenging Wrath, which are weak cards.
If Mask of C'Thun were to only target minions, it would just be a pointless card that is worse than Flamestrike and Reno the Relicologist.
