All the cards in the game are different but these 2. Blizz always added a new twist when they created similar cards (Arcane Explosion, Revenge, Defile, Spirit Lash). Do you think they should modify one of these cards in order to be consistent with literally the rest of the game? I know this would have multiple implications, such as one of these becoming stronger/weaker, changing a basic card, etc. With all these aspects in consideration, should a change take place? Or is their identical existence justified because they are in 2 different classes?
Why would a change be necessary? I think it's reasonable for both of those classes to a spell with that effect at that cost, it is a pretty basic effect.
I really don't see why it matters that they are the same card. Neither of these cards are anywhere close to being OP and the game has plenty other inconsistencies about it, which these cards don't really represent anyway.
While they do have the same effect, they are not the same card. One is a basic card every player has, the other is a rare card available only in a wild set. Arcane shot and Holy Smite are both basic cards, and will always be available to new players.

Okay. Holy Smite is a priest card with different art from Arcane Shot which is a hunter card. Therefore they are different cards too. Innervate and Counterfeit Coin are just as much the same card until some sort of effect takes place that discovers a card based on its rarity.
Arcane Shot: Deal 2 damage, with 50% chance to deal +1 damage.
Holy smite: Deal 2 damage, with 50% chance to heal (1? 2? what would be fair) health to a random friendly character.
The smite change would kind of simulate a Discipline priest's Atonement healing their allies when they Smite in WoW.
I like the Holy Smite change but I think you could easily go all the way to "Deal 2 damage, then restore 1 health to a random friendly character" without being too strong for a base card compare to all the other "Deal x damage" cards.

Innervate and Counterfeit Coin
Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
It's a substantial nerf in a class that often relies on deathrattle minions, and a completely unnecessary nerf.
Which art do you guys like more between the two??
Holy Smite for sure! Blasting all the meat of some dude's body is pretty rad. It would probably hurt a tad more than two, now that I think about it.
That's true, but due to a nerf.

Arcane shot. Plus have cool animation too
Holy skit!
I have never thought about this, how can I be so blind!!

How about:
Arcane Shot
Deal 3 damage to a minion.
Holy Smite
Deal 2 damage.
I would change if I did:
Arcane Shot: Deal 2 damage, with 50% chance to deal +1 damage.
Holy smite: Deal 2 damage, with 50% chance to heal (1? 2? what would be fair) health to a random friendly character.

Hah, a close one buddy, but the other way
The joke here was not worth reviving this thread for. Closing this.
