Does this card -really- need to exist? I've hated it's design ever since I started playing (and in fact singled it out as the worst designed card in the game) and my opinion really hasn't changed.
I'm not crying about how OP it is or anything (because it isn't and that would be ridiculous) but I just don't see what it brings to the game or why it needs to keep existing in it and why he seems to fly under the HOF radar every year. I just don't think time is a mechanic that needs to be in Hearthstone or how the game is any better off for it. It's not like the mechanic and certainly not the body is super broken or anything, it's just really annoying and frustrating and turns games from strategy into QUICK KILL THE NOZDORMU SO MAYBE YOU HAVE TIME TO THINK AGAIN. Or maybe just don't, it might not be a good idea, but we don't have time to think about that! It's also really unfair if players have bad connections (which you can sometimes recover from in Hearthstone. Sometimes.) And with card generation effects more prominent than ever, you can still run into Nozdormu at times even though absolutely nobody wants to run one in their deck, ever.
Am I alone in wishing they just got rid of this thing years ago? It's not like a rampant problem plaguing the metagame and it really is a terrible card, but I never saw any value in this thing, and I don't know why it's overlooked every time we go over HoF cards. It just seems like such an obvious thing to do away with.
I think it's a good card for the memes, but I'd rather point at Dragonqueen Alexstrasza as the main problem. If you get Nozdormu from her, you can develop your turn, then drop a 0 mana Nozdormu right before finishing the turn and give your opponent 15 sec to think of a turn and wait for the needed animations...
At least, with lackeys and other discover mechanics, you will have to play Noz without cost reductions, making it balanced. But a huge dragon for free that doesn't let you develop a turn is stupid, it's specially good card pressuring opponents or dealing with OTK decks, but it should have it's weakness.
I like it does something difftent. I dont like what it does. Many people say it counter ropers, but that is simply not necerssary. The fact is it is bad and annoyning, and animations and turns are longer now than at launch, and the mechanic is not good anymore, if it ever was. I dont know the lore very well so I wont come up with a new idea, but i 100% agree with OP, even though it is not a good card
Why complain about how a card mechanic is too hard to work around while also believing it's not OP? It is rarely seen in any deck lists, so what is there to complain about anyway? It's not the only card with a "useless" mechanic, and it'll hardly be the last. I also don't see the issue with its mechanic either. If you need more than 15 seconds to think about your turn, then Nozdormu, a Legendary card, is doing its job.
10 days ago was the last rant on this EXACT topic, and there were lots more before HS sped up all of their animation. So, I mean saying no one is talking about it...
No card with an awful deck winrate should ever be HOFed. He is not even problematic from Dragonqueen Alexstrasza even though he has won me a few games for 0 mana.
It's a card you NEVER see in a decklist. You always see it generated from something. And honestly if you are whining how it affects lackeys that's just stupid. Lackeys are broken from to begin with.
The only problem with the card is the constant turn abusing which occurs expansion after expansion and Blizzard should have fixed all the issues ages ago. But the card itself is unique and cool.
Edit: And I know op didnt talk about lackeys or anything but just my thought
I know that saying this one year ago would be hilarious, as Blizzard was strictly sticking to the same mechanics. I even remember that during SoU on customhearthstone reddit channel someone posted a fan-made warlock card, which was making your hand bigger. In fact it had the same effect as Valdris Felgorge. The card however, was so hated by the community, and in the comments every "smart" guy was yelling that Blizzard will not print something like this, because Hearthstone's engine doesn't allow such effect. Anyway, what I wanted to say is that with all the "new" things Blizzard is doing rigth now in HS, what I think they should do next is reworking the whole classic set. I don't mean HoF-ing the cards and creating new ones, but just changing the currently existing ones. The problem with the set is that most legendaries don't really feel "legendary". In fact, they have weaker effects or stats than many commons, which is outrageous. Nozdormu as a "Aspect of time" and a legendary 8-drop should do something game-changing, but instead it just makes a minor adjustment to the game and feels awkward to play. Comparing it to other late game plays, even Shu'ma has bigger impact on the game. Thesame goeas for many classic legs. Do you guys even remember cards like The Beast, Hogger, Lorewalker Cho, Onyxia etc. ? When I'm opening other packs and see the orange flare, I am genuinely excited, but when I see it in a Classic pack, the only feeling I have is "well, I am gonna fill up some holes in my collection". The last legendary I opened in a classic pack was Hogger, but heck there isn't even a single deck (even a meme deck) that would run him...
The purpose of Nozdormu is to create/highlight problems that need fixing. Whenever someone finds a new way to abuse his effect somehow, the developers know that they have to fix another mechanic or interaction.
He's the perfect card for betatesting. And it was already mentioned, he's pretty useless, so perfect for the Classic set. HoF is only for cards that are potentially useful.

/thread, next please.
Not that I really do care about the card but must be really frustrating to see for mobile players I guess?

But, the card has become irrelevant even as a meme, so no one really cares anymore... That's why FEW people talk about it.

I wish more cards had this mechanic because I think fast and get bored during opponents' long turns.
Proof that the community will b*tch about literally anything.
Indeed, specially if you got lackeys on your hand.
