Firstly, I have never called a nerf before and will never again it is only for this card because I am ok with all of basic + classic cards ( maybe just Mind Control Tech because of arena) but Animal Companion felt like it is so far overpowered for a class specific + basic card.
IT IS NOT A SALT THREAD!!!
I know, some of you will think like "Pff; Another salt thread about Spell Hunter" but it is not for that. I am playing hunter so much too. Spell hunter or beast hunter; archetype doesn't matter. The card is overpowered and I am saying this as the one who plays hunter so much.
We all know that when a minion is class specific it has + stats or some effects better compare to a neutral one but it is mostly like +1 attack or +1 health or taunt only or tag or sth like that. Here is an example; Ironfur Grizzly > Fierce Monkey
So the nerf will not affect card's itself but tokens and it won't kill the card so it won't be useless;
Tokens will be like;
What do you think? Is this necessary or not ?
Edit:
I am adding this quote here to prove I have thought the nerf before Zul'jin and to prove this is not a SALT thread.
I think we all were wrong about the card. You can say that "you watched stream, they are playing bad decks against bad decks, it won't be like how it is in stream, in real meta." Well you might be right but I want to point something different now.
Think about companions. They all are quite well minions. They must orginally cost 4 for each. Their neutral replacements are weaker. so basically you could count them 4 cost minions. In addition to this they all have beast tag. It costs .5 more mana. Also they are more powerful when they are together. we can simply say that those companions' mana costs are 4.5 .
Also think about Kor'kron Elite, 4 mana 4/3 with no tag. Huffer's equilevent minion with no tag is 4-cost with +1 health. Felguard can count equal with Misha and has a drawback. Warsong Commander can only give +1 attack to Charge minions and have 1 less health than Leokk and has no tags.
So merging two of them together should have been higher cost than 6 and they did this "no minion in deck" drawback. Like Druid's choose one effects. Choose one cards always weaker than normal costs because of choose one effect's adapting ability. Only few has normal power levels. This cards drawback is mostly like choose one mechanic.
So I think we were just unfair to To My Side! because we forgot about how powerful Animal Companion is which orginally should have been cost 4. At least I feel like I was so unfair about this card so far.
You could think that I am eating my words. Well, I guess we have to embrace our mistakes.
Ps. : Yes I am salty about community now...
At least; I have found the comment which I gave the word for.
I won't answer "salt thread" comments anymore. It makes me salty really.
Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
Before Zul'jin was this really a thought in your mind? Animal Companion is fine and does not need a nerf at all. It's random, and most of the time you never get the roll you want.

animal companion is a rather mediocre card, that's why non spell hunter decks before weren't running it and some spell hunters also eschewed it, yeah it was used back in the day but the cardpool was so low that you scrapped to find whatever you could use (ie all shamman decks used Feral Spirit) it's good sinergy with zul'jin and all but there's no nerf needed

Animal Companion is fine, but if you want the tokens to have those stats and not kill the card, then the player should discover them when playing this spell and pick one, not getting one at random. But there are no discover cards in the basic and classic set, so I really doubt Blizzard would implement a change like this, especially because there is nothing wrong with Animal Companion in the first place. ;)
Lol but really I am not salty, I am just curious about what u guys think.
I am playing spell hunter right now. It affects me aswell but this topic isn't opened because of new spell hunter. It was in my mind from past.
It does sound like a Salt Thread to me. Animal Companion probably got better stats because the minion is random. The Ironfur Grizzly > Fierce Monkey example would be accurate as class minions tend to be a little more powerful than class cards but in this particular case, I don't know if I will get a Taunt, a Charger, or a minion that buffs my other minion's attack. Animal Companion is fine.

IT IS %100 A SALT THREAD Pog where have u been before zuljin:????
The card is class specific and random, so all outcomes should be slightly OP to account for that. I don't think the card needs a nerf at this time.

All these "this is no salt but..." threads. This IS salt. There IS a thread for it. Animal Companion is not the problem.

I'm pretty sure Almaniarra wants to nerf Animal Companion to directly affect To My Side! (and Call of the Wild if he plays Wild), hehe. Am I right?
Those cards are not a problem, bro.
Of course, this would affect Zul'jin too, but everyone knows that already. :P
Obvious salt thread is obvious. XD

Hehe, I was right then, you were talking about To My Side! too in that post. ;)
Give them all 3 health and I'd be happy.
3-mana 4/3 Taunt Beast - good value, which is appropriate for a class card.
3-mana 2/3 that gives your other minions +1 attack - bit of a downgrade, but Leokk has always been the third wheel of Animal Companion
3-mana 4/3 Charge - Korkron Elite but better.
The one I most hate is Misha. 3-mana 4/4 taunt is ridiculous and really difficult to remove on turn 3.
