With today's update, we're now able to see the new Whizbang decks. And man, they look garbage.
Theres discardlock WITHOUT the quest, surrender to madness priest with only 3 minions under 2 mana, and a druid deck built entirely around Gonk, the Raptor.
Even worse, about half of the decks only got one or two rastakhan cards!

Why???
About half of the decks are showcasing Boomsday, not RR, hence they don't include many new cards. You'll notice these are all on the left of the two.
As for the others, of course there's a Gonk deck. They're not built to be tier 1 decks, they're built to give players an experience of the core cards of the set.
Yeah, I don't think Blizzard is out to set the legend meta with Whizbang (though for the record, I did hit legend with it the first month it was out)
Having said that, I would bet a preorder that the most successful discard lock decks will not run the quest.

Helpful Clarification on Forbidden Topics for Hearthstone Forums:
Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
As a new and F2P player, I don't mind if the decks are tier4 or lower. I only play whizzbang casually and it's really nice to be able to play with new cards. Btw, Hero Power Mage looks promising, Dragon warrior have all dragon(or almost all?) synergy cards from Rastakhan's Rumble, we also have Shudderwock Shaman. Evolve Shaman looks good too.

People working for Blizzard are pure evil. Not even the Christmas spirit can save their souls. Such a shame... :(
LOL and people are still suggesting people craft Whizbang.
I still would recommend it, actually. There's still tons of value for budget players. It just sucks that some of the decks aren't nearly as good/fun as they can be.
i think if the decks are for new players, they shouldn’t leave out cards that should obviously be in the deck - it’s okay that the shudderwock doesn’t have grumble because you can make a deck just built around good battlecries, but excluding shudderwock for example is not okay because it’s just a hot pile of garbage with no finisher. They saw their mistake with the current deck recipe, and added it back in, and then went ahead and removed Zerek from a priest deck built around buffing your minions. WHEN WILL THEY EVER LEARN

Check out my Earth, Wind, and Fire - Elemental Shaman deck!
But hey, you can even run new recipe decks right now!!
Unfortunately, no. I just tested it with Whizbang and got the mage deck that features Unpowered Mauler, a minion which is not in either of the two recipes for Tuesday. And if you can't remember what that minion is... you're not alone.
Correction: I think the outgoing recipes and new ones must all active right now. I keep getting old recipes with no new cards, but an opponent just played Rain of Toads against me.

Time and time again people have tried out Lakkari Sacrifice, and discard lock has always been better without it.
Oh no, they built a deck recipe centering around a new legendary? How dare they.
Recipes are for players who do not want to be bothered. Fine.
But if recipes were optimised, even netdecking would become pointless.
Let the community create the best recipes.
Let creativity be rewarded.
I don't think anyone who puts Lakkari Sacrifice is being creative, its not exactly a logical leap.
I'm not asking for optimal builds, just ones that I can maybe win with two weeks into the expansion.
You will definitely be able to win with some if the new recipes.
Exactly as you can win with decks deemed as t3 or t4.
You will just get sub-optimal winrates, but Whizzbang was never meant to carry you over the ladder. It is a fun card that lets you try stuff you do not own for the price of 1600 dust. That's just it, no more, no less.
PS: old Discardlock never ran the Quest, even when it was available.

Unpopular opinion: Rogue is OP
Blizzard being lazy again, what's new

Its not even laziness; its purposefully making bad decks that aren't even fun.

I agree, I'm just disappointed so I wrote the first thing that came to mind lol

As if a majority of the current whizbang decks were good...
i've always played discard decks without the quest. quest is useless, just makes the deck worse

-let´s negotiate: you concede and I let you live...
Perhaps a decision to reduce the ubiquity of Whizbang at low ranks.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.
