Maybe it was just dumb luck: maybe the card considers only the starting deck and you really hit the original kingsbane (you might aswell had taken an already used card?) you should test this interaction by fatiguing someone playing the Trickster and see what happens. Then you use some cards that shuffle a card in your opponent and then you trickster again. In my opinion OR the cards reads the starting deck and gives you them OR it is bugged, which is understandable since it is "1 DAY OLD" (not really since they should test those things)

I played Drakkari Trickster when my opponent only had a highly buffed Kingsbane in their deck, but it only had the base stats in my hand. I was under the impression that when cards are copied they retain all stats (see boomsday patch 12.0). Much like Archbishop Benedictus and Stitched Tracker copies with buffs now.

Is this interaction a bug or as intended?
Are you sure he didn't have the second kingsbane in his deck instead?
See I've never understood the whole copy fix seeing as Valeera doesn't copy stats or buffs at all with the hero power.
100% sure. He drew it and played it for full stats the following turn.
He could have both the buffed and unbuffed version in his deck
No - he literally had ONE card in his deck, the buffed Kingsbane. It was before he had copied it through Valeera.
