I was also thinking about Secretkeeper. Mage has tons of secrets and secret synergies in wild and with early enablers like the lackey this minion can snowball hard. Not to mention, that this can also be used as a tech card against some combo mage decks or hunters.
Inb4 I never thought about the freeze package before, but I can see why you pointed it out - it enables a cheap burst in the late game and the Glacial Shard slows down the opponent, i.e. providing you tempo.
Tempo mage don't exist without the very strong 1 drop, you can't compete with the tempo vs odd rogue or even shaman, you can't burn down druids and warriors and you can't win vs shudder or combo decks with Big Spell Mage.
Mage is dead, why they nerfed a crucial card from a class who barely have one competitive deck in Standard and don't touch in insane OP druid cards or hunter and warlock DK's is something beyond terrible balance job, the team who decide this kind of nerf pass redention.
Unless of course, mage will get an entire expansion of insanely OP cards like UI, otherwise this nerf is the worst ever made in this game history,
Much better if they wait and put the card in HoF, a least will be playable in Wild, now, it is complete garbage because opponent trade the 2 drop before you have the chance to buff the card...

Do you have any ideas on how to replace Mana Wyrm in (wild) Tempo Mage? Would love to hear them out :)
What list were you running before?
dire mole. kappa. sad times for aggro/tempo mage.
Wild?
Choose 2:
Sorcerer's Apprentice, Flamewaker, Mechwarper, Medivh's Valet, Mad Scientist
Not sure if hyped yet.

It's quite standard wild tempo secret mage with Aluneth.
I'll try Secretkeeper but I don't think it is a good replacement.
interesting one btw
I think the way is to either go harder with secrets, and include Secretkeeper and Kabal Lackey, or go for the path of Frost, with Glacial Shard and Ice Lance.
Notice that both also fit an Odd archetype.

Its power is unmatchable. But the others have listed good fillers for now.
I use a +spell dmg-heavy deck.
Thalnos, Spellshifter, Tainted Zealot, and Cosmic Anomaly. Spells cast almost always hit harder.
I was trying out Sorcerer's Apprentice today. Looks a bit worse than Mana Wyrm, but I'm not sure we can get noticeably better than that.
