Recently a lot of players have been frustrated at Spiteful decks, in particular, 'Spiteful Druid'. Even when summoning a 8/8 Sea giant off of Spiteful Summoner, it is an insane turn 6 play, giving 14/14 worth of stats... And this is considered the worst possible outcome! When summoning Tyrantus it is game over anyway
I understand that there is a sorta high rolley aspect of this deck in regards to drawing summoners and not drawing spells, but in my mind, even on top of only running UI for spells, the restraints/risk for deck building is not enough for the power swings it provides.
What Is think would be suitable nerf for the deck is to make spiteful summoner a spell called 'Spiteful Ritual' or something where it has the same battlecry as the original. This would not only get rid of the 4/4 body but also give further restraints/risk for deck building where you would either run two 'Spiteful Rituals' and risk summoning a 6 drop and greater the chances of drawing the card or use only one 'Spiteful Ritual' and be guarenteed a 10 drop but have a smaller chance of drawing the ritual.
Anyway, that was just a shower thought so you can call me dumb or whatever, it was just an idea. If you don't agree tell me why I'm wrong so I can hear from some other spiteful players. Thankyou All
Wanted to see what all the fuzz was about and tried to play 10 games of spitefull druid.
Won 6 out of 10 games however i drew both UI's before drawing a single Spitefull 7 out of the 10 games and saw 1 Tyrantus and 2 Emiriss... it was like playing spitefull without the spitefull so i dont know what to say atm
In my opinion nerfing Spiteful Summoner to 7 mana would be huge enough to make it balanced.
Changing it into a spell is interesting, but it would possibly kill it, and also changing a minion into a spell doesn't feel right.
I think that Spiteful Decks aren't the biggest problem on the meta, but if Blizzard would announce nerfs to few cards increasing cost by one would have a significant impact on Spiteful Summoner.
4/4+8/8 or 12/12 that cannot be targeted by spells on turn 6? Completely fine, so cool when it happens especially to new players! They get so excited that they want to quit the game instantly and forever. That kind of insane mana cheating which is also neutral is absolutely insane and that prick Ayala is the reason Brode left because he didn’t want to listen what Brode says. Brode is too good hearted to fire him but he’s the obvious problem. Someone needs to fire him because he’s the reason cards like Jade Idol, Quest Rogue, Shudderwock (deck archetype disablers) and spiteful summoner and possessed lackey (extreme mana cheating) exist.
Are people not running BGH or voodoo doll? Or vilespine?
Nah, because running reliable answers to a turn 6 Summoner with a what ... 20% chance of giving you something good, would be too simple a solution ... complaining while not doing anything seems a lot more sophisticated. >_>
Spiteful Summoner should burn up the spells it uses to create minions. For example, Spiteful on turn 6 pulls a UI and gives you Tyrantus. That UI is burned to create Tyrantus (or Sea Giant, Ultrasaur, etc.) and no longer usable.
also, upping Spiteful to 8 mana would serve as either an alternative nerf or part of the spell burn nerf. Now these big swing turns come at the same pace as most effective counters and removals. It would also nerf Spiteful priest, since pulling Free From Amber would risk ending up with another 4/4 on board (and, if we employ the card burn effect, eliminate the usage of that Free From Amber later on).

Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.
If you think of Spiteful the same way as Reno, Baku, and Genn, you realize that it's not so overpowered. You must handicap your overall decklist by excluding powerful low cost spells.
As a standalone card it is bonkers. As a deck it's very good. "Very good" does not merit nerfing.

They just need to add some trash 10 drops and it will be fine...

*100% chance of getting something good
Pump the brakes kid. I just got a golden Spiteful Summoner from end of season rewards and I'm going to shatter someone's legend dreams with it.
No, Mind Control and Ultimate Infestation should cost 5 mana. This will make Spiteful Summoner summon weaker minions. Problem Solved.
Increase summoners mana cost imho.

Spiteful decks are the only viable midrange decks because of DKs and paladins.
That's the most stupid idea I've ever heard regarding Spiteful Summoner
hahahahah Good too see some of the hearthstone community has a sense of humour
Spiteful summoner 7 mana would be fine enough I suppose, possessed lackey should be made into a demon card though, the adjustment to warlock
draw spiteful, win the game unless your opponent draws bgh
that is not a good way to play the game.

Spiteful is insanely good, but about 24 other cards in a spiteful deck are not.
Spiteful Summoner is near the bottom of my list of issues with the metagame right now.
