That's not really a problem with The Darkness. It's called counterplay. How is this any different to your opponent Sapping it, or killing it with Shadow Word: Death?
The darkness is a meme card that you can tech to counter highlander decks, and it's not even that great for that.
Twilight acolyte doesn't matter. Every deck can hard remove this by the time it might show up. If you think twilight acolyte is the issue with this card then you have no idea.
While The Darkness is dormant, it is untargetable.
...Okay that made me feel 100x better.
Is there footage to confirm this? And how would Vanish effect a dormant card?
Seriously...another post about a card in which the OP has no clue how it works? You thought this minion is a 20/20 while dormant? That you can just faceless manipulator it? Do you realize how broken that card would be if it was like Ancient Watcher?
You realize Sherazin is a card right? We already have this mechanic in the game.
Well I don't think it counts as a 20/20 minion until it's awake ( just like a dormant Sherazin ) and by that time a priest can easily deal with it even without Twilight Acolyte . The Darknessis such a badass card though I am sure to try it if I open it :)
If you have this on the board you're opponent will save removal for it. If you run them out of removal and get this on the board, the optimal scenario, then the lich king or a big dragon does the exact same thing of being a big dude.
Am i the only one who thinks that this is also a great counter to Ultimate Infestation?
Druids would now have to include single target removal cards (ie big game hunter) to counter this beast.
I would not count on it. You give up 4-mana-do-nothing, and Druid would be more than happy about that, and keep ramping. Eventually, they can either taunt up, trade for the 20-20 with something like the DK spiders or just kill you...

They'll know to save removal for it because it sits dormant in the board for quite a few turns. You can't surprise anyone with it
In the plus side, it punishes aggressive draw by moving your opponent closer to awakening a big threat they'll need to kill somehow. It also, as we all know, disables "Highlander" effects until the second candle is drawn.

I agree with this. The nightmare scenario is that the third candle is in the five cards drawn by UI, guaranteeing at least one attack work it before they can remove it next turn.

One of the more interesting cards revealed, we can all agree that The Darkness has potential too..
Oh look a Twilight Acolyte.
While The Darkness is dormant, it is untargetable.
I think you want to be killing them with 20 damage before they can do that.
Nature is the Day.
Man is the Sun.
Woman is the Moon.
The Stone is the Sky.
The Art is the Way.
Yeah, but you need to hold on to that Twilight Acolyte until you draw all three candles.... So, no, not that much of a problem TBH

this thread is a mess

This is why we waited so much to get 9 more deckslots.
