Since Epics have become less about filling a weird niche of fun or weird combo and more and more must-craft for serious competitive decks, I thought it would be helpful to get an Epic tier list going (thoughts?). I'll start with my opinion on the Witchwood epics.
Tier 1 - Safe crafts in Standard - these either see play in competitive decklists or are strong enough on their own to be considered safe.
Town Crier - A staple in non-Even Warrior decks that run even a single Rush card.
Book of Specters - Extremely strong card draw in minion-heavy Mage.
Vivid Nightmare - Essential piece of an OTK Priest decklist that has hit legend, and I expect this to see play across many different types of Priest decks in the future.
Voodoo Doll - Not sure if this is T1 or T2 honestly but it seems to be very strong in classes with a cheap ping.
Tier 2 - Decent but replaceable - these are non essential but good enough to craft if you have some extra dust lying around.
Nightmare Amalgam - Good flexible card for Dragon Priest. Also good enabler for Elemental Mage, Pirate Warrior, Dragon Hunter, etc etc etc
Sandbinder - Card draw for Elemental decks, currently seeing play in Shudderwock Shaman
Mossy Horror - Strong AOE in an aggressive meta. Like Galvadon, it's not that bad if you don't die on turn 4.
Tier 3 - Might see play down the road/fun card but not good enough to see play - you wanna make a meme deck? Start here.
Spectral Cutlass - Really cool card, underrated in my opinion, but is tough to make work because you have to play randomly generated cards that need to be better plays than cards you purposely put in your deck.
Witch's Cauldron - I've seen this played in a couple different aggro lists, mainly as a resource generator. I would not say this is good enough for 400 dust though.
Hidden Wisdom - Easily played around and honestly not that strong of an effect.
Cathedral Gargoyle - A Shielded Minibot with taunt? Awesome! Too bad Paladin doesn't really have decent Dragon support right now, and Call to Arms means this is a 2-mana 2/2.
Baleful Banker - With Murmuring Elemental, Shaman can be the new Shadowcaster Rogue! Kind of.
Rat Trap - Easily played around and Baku Hunter is probably preventing this from seeing any play.
Ratcatcher - Warlock has enough "destroy a friendly minion" tools that this card is not necessary.
Toxmonger - Anyone feel like running Elven Archer or Stonetusk Boar in Hunter? No? Just me?
Arcane Keysmith - On the fence about this one. It's reasonable in Even Mage as a way to "run" secrets without running secrets. This possibly belongs in the Tier 2 list.
Muck Hunter - Another one I'm on the fence about. I haven't seen it run in competitive lists, but it seems to be on a power level similar to that 5/4 dragon. If it were me, I wouldn't go out of my way to craft this.
Gloom Stag - A staple in Odd Druid. Odd Druid isn't real right now.
Bogshaper - Strong enough to be Tier 2 if Shaman is ever at a point where it needs more card draw on turn 7.
Tier 4 - You can safely NOT craft these - and feel good about saving 400 dust.
WANTED! - Wanted - an enabler for Vilespine Slayer. What's that? Oh right, Backstab and Prep exist.
Deathweb Spider - Skull of Man'ari or Possessed Lackey > Deathweb Spider, and Warlock isn't lacking for healing options on 5.
Totem Cruncher - Mayyyyybe you could run this in Even Shaman...nah this is pretty unplayable.
Deadly Arsenal - This card might be relevant in the distant future but right now Warrior has better AOE and no reason not to run Blood Razor, which makes this card extremely weak.
Splitting Festeroot - Battlecry: Summon a Spellbreaker to your opponent's hand.
Let me know what you think of these classifications and if you think we should get an Epic tier list going for the other sets. Again....this is just my opinion, based on what I've seen after 1 week of WW.
Again, just my opinion, feel free to provide a reason you don't agree. let's keep this constructive if we can.
Essentially because it is a worse Assassinate. Assassinate doesn't even see any play. The only time Voodoo Doll sees play is in some Odd Mages, which no reason to put in tier one (I'd say tier 3). Also I play a lot of Hearthstone and am yet to play against OTK Priest or Vivid Nightmare in legend. Certainly a good card but I don't think tier 1 good (Probably tier 2).

I have said this since the card was revealed - some classes would love to have Assassinate, and Voodoo Doll isn't necessarily required to be played on 5 either. It's no worse than tier 2 though.
I think my assessment of Rat Trap and Worgen Abomination are accurate though.
I would say Wispering Woods is at least Tier 2. I've been playing the deck Firebat had it in and you can get some serious tempo with the Wispering/Soul of the Forest combo.
My only real issue with this list is that hardly any epics from Witchwood are actually required in today's so-called tier 1 'meta' decks. I'm at rank 3 right now and can assure you the only epic I see is Voodoo Doll in Cubelock. And even that isn't absolutely necessary. I'd say save your dust unless you're just looking to fool around and have fun.

Agreed! Not many of the epics from WW are "must crafts" for tier 1 decks right now (sorry if I didn't make that clear) but if I put it in the tier 1 list, I felt that it was a safe craft for decks we'll see in the next 2 years, based on the card's inherent strength.

- Witch cauldron. WTF ? This is a trash card, why would you play this ? Definitely Tier 4.
- Sandbinder : I'm ok with Tier2 since this is a staple in Shudderwock OTK decks. BUT the description is wrong. This is NOT a card for elemental decks. Gnomish Inventor is not played, and this is basically the same thing in an elemental-heavy deck. Maybe in elemental-shudderwock shaman to avoid getting into fatigue with other battlecry-draw, but you still draw too much and probably burn several crads, which is not good. Playable only in decks with few elementals that are necessary/awesome value (shudderwock OTK, priest with Lyra and radiant elemental, maybe something else in the future).
- Totem cruncher : Tier 4. This is the 2nd worst epic card from WW, after Deadly arsenal.

I've seen aggro paladin lists running Witch Cauldron as a way to generate resources, since they typically run out quickly. Maybe that was an early choice and the lists have become more refined now.
Moving Totem Cruncher to 4 because I agree with you. It's pretty unplayable.

Nightmare Amalgam should be Tier 1. It's a solid enabler for every race. Imo it will see a lot of play in the future.
I'm keeping it in tier 2 for now because most classes either have better options now or will likely have better options down the road, although it is quite a solid spider tank. If tribe-based decks become the flavor of the month, you can guarantee this card will be short lived because it dies to any crab.

I have won every single game I have played with odd priest thanks to glitter moth replacing divine spirit for inner fire or void ripper. Strong card. Not tier 4.
Spectral Cutlass is awful. Also saying it is Kingsbane and leeching in a single card is straight up lying. You have to buff the attack of Spectral Cutlass just like you do a kingsbane, but unlike kingsbane once that weapon is gone it's gone for good and you get no more value from it. In a meta full of weapon removal, that matters more than the tiny amount of value you get from having 2 cards glued together.

In a meta full of weapon removal, this is true, but in my last ~50 games I have seen only a single Acidic Swamp Ooze. I think you are incorrect to say that having two cards in one is tiny value. With Kingsbane + Leeching, you have to run additional (sometimes dead) cards in your deck AND draw them.

It is worth the trade off for running Odd Priest (instead of simply running Divine Spirit Inner Fire in a regular Priest decklist), and at what ranks and how large a sample have you "won every single game...thanks to glitter moth"?

Mossy Horror will always be god tier to me.
IMO Spectral Cutlass and Voodoo Doll should swap places. Doll is very good against Spiteful into Tyrantus, though.
Mossy Horror is fucking amazing in this meta, especially in a control Warlock deck.

Witch's Cauldron best card in set for me. Has the highest FUN X POWER index so far.
