I've heard rumours going around that there are changes being made to make the keyword Poisonous proc on damage from deathrattles (Abomination, the new bat, etc). I've also heard people saying that this will be the case with lifesteal as well. My question is whether or not Blade Flurry will benefit from this change as well.
I know most people might say that of course it won't, but think about it this way. It could be that the reason why Envenom Weapon doesn't combo with Blade Flurry is because the weapon is already destroyed and hence the damage it deals can't be Poisonous. This is the reasoning behind why deathrattle minions don't proc it. If this is the case, depending on how the coding changes, things like Lifesteal from Leeching Poison and Poisonous from Envenom Weapon could conceivably also activate off of Blade Flurry. Or, perhaps Blade Flurry just looks at the number on your weapon, adds in spell power, does that much damage and then destroys the weapon, disregarding the effect entirely. That seems to be the case as of now but its hard to tell whether the weapon destruction is causing the Poisonous to not go off or whether it's the way Blade Flurry decides how to deal its damage. If Wild Pyro and Knife Juggler can combo with Poisonous, I don't see why Blade Flurry couldn't either.
Regardless of what happens or how it's coded, I think it would be a great addition to fix Blade Flurry to work with these effects since they're already doing that for deathrattle. It would justify the nerf given to Blade Flurry way back and would also give an opportunity for rogues to go down the control road a bit more. I wouldn't say it's overly broken as technically you're paying 9 mana and two cards (hero power + Envenom + Blade Flurry) for a full enemy board clear. I guess it gets stronger due to the fact that you can hold onto your dagger for awhile but it's still a tough combo since Blade Flurry is pretty useless without a card to combo with. Also, the healing that you could pull off with a Blade Flurry and Leeching Poison is reminiscent of Hallazeal combos and still fairly expensive if you want to do decent damage.
Anyone have any insight on it? Maybe a blue post was made already regarding this. Even a link to the blue post that talked about the deathrattle changes would be awesome.
It would be nice and funny if blizzard change this interaction in such a way that when blade flurry dealt damage, this damage would be from weapon instead of spell. I'm sure they have a might to do that. Comeback of bladeflurry PogChamp
That's unfortunate! Well thanks anyway for testing. I seriously doubt it will work with Doomerang as it has similar wording. I would love to bring this up in the next AMA that comes up though and hopefully the change can be made.

Here's the note from the latest patch, i don't think it will work. I mean, you can try it out yourself, the patch is live.
I've already tried today and it is not work. I wonder if it will work with Doomerang.
No. The spell deals damage and not the weapon.
Check out my entry for this week's Card Design Competition. Vote for it if you like it.
