It's specifically not an elemental so you can't curve into Servant of Kalimos. Otherwise horribly overpowered. I think it's a good balance for elemental packages, and I don't play it in shaman because of that. Good card, would be totally broken otherwise.
Do you really want to promote curvestone like that? Elemental shaman is already a pretty damn play-on-curve deck, and I definitely think making it an elemental would only make it worse. Also, this way you atleast have to make some deckbuilding choices (unless you ofcourse just netdeck the whole thing). You have to make a consideration: Is it worth to play a minion that I can consistently make a 4 mana 3/5 taunt divine shield, but sometimes have to make a 4 mana 3/5, if it doesn't synergise with my elementals?
Also, as someone else pointed out: A Tol'Vir isn't an elemental.
On the contrary, I think it's great design. This forces you to make some decisions and deckbuilding choices, instead of mindlessly "curvstoning" your way through the game. Now, you have to consider wether you want a a good minion now, or if you prefer to set up for the next turn.
I really wished they would have made Servant of Kalimos a non-elemental as well, for the same reason. (and it would also prevents him discovering himself, for some dumb infinite value).
This ! I was thinking about it this morning. They should not have made some elemental with the previous turn condition.
It's made of stone and it would allow Elemental decks to curve it into Servant of Kalimos. What do you think? Why isn't it an Elemental?
Check out my Earth, Wind, and Fire - Elemental Shaman deck!
because tolvirs arent fucking elementals
Priest was a mistake.
