There's a few potential cards and concepts that crossed my mind as possibly happening when I see the current meta and the cards revealed so far:
We will see some cards that will try to push Control Shaman. Without success.
We will see a few new cards that could make Handlock/Renolock viable again. And they will.
We will see more Dragon or Dragon-synergestic cards. At least one will be legendary. Because Priest.
Although it doesn't fit the theme of the expansion, I think there will be a card specificaly aiming at Dragon Priest - something on the lines of a Dragon hunter.
Seeing that Blizzard is trying really hard to fix Priest I think they will be trying to fix arena the same way. I think that we will see some very interesting and strong constructed cards for mage which will make the constructed decks more diverse but they won't be quite as good in arena. Except for one card which will screw up arena in the favor of mage once again.
We won't see any Kabal card without red mana in it (in the stone or potion form). Potions will also be the Kabal ability theme but that's probably a given.
Grimy Goons legendary will be boring but useful.
Jade Lotus legendary will be fun but useless. At least for two classes.
We will see at least one more Murloc. No matter it's strength it won't make no new Murloc deck viable.
We will see a few more Pirates and Pirate synergestic cards. They will make a Pirate deck viable and very annoying.
Which of these do you see happening? Are there any other cards/concepts that you think we will see?
Not even played yet, but just the thought that Smuggler's Run coexists in the same class as Grimestreet Outfitter, I think there's nothing really good to look forward to in this expansion.
Successfully activating all 4 cards transforms Sir Finley into a Doomguard without the drawback. lol
I'm really still holding out for a new Keyword. my biggest concern with the game right now is the lack of new mechanics.
A new Discover would be cool but on the other hand we don't want another Joust. :) It doesn't have to be a keyword, a new card mechanic like Reno "one of" would be enough. Or even Elise Starseeker. Damn, League of Explorers was sooo good.
Honestly anything that adds new strategy to the game is welcome in my book. The game has just been feeling very mindless with playing on curve decks being the top tier.
Personal predictions: - the new priest legendary is probably a Dragon
-the Jade Lotus mechanic is probably a Barnes-like effect, since in the trailer the goons are shown picking weapons and gunning down a street which in their introduction they explained that they hide those weapons all over gadgetzan for other goonies to pick as +1/+1 buffs, and the Kabal is shown commercializing with red mana and a red mana crystal is shown in the kazakus example video, however the Jade lotus are shown appearing from shadows in that scene where Lotus bunny (i so want that card! ninja bunny hype!) is in the alley, and the rogue legendary plus Lotus Assassin, both have stealth which is something that actually sinergises with Barnes's effect that covers the flavor of Ninjas coming in and out of combat.
I don't quite get you on that one, what do stealth and barnes have in common?
Permanent/aura/trigger -non battlecry effects sinergize with Barnes a lot, even stealth sinergizes with him , the Jade Lotus is basically a ninja clan, a mechanic that brings smaller copies from minions in your deck would be easily able to pass by a Ninja coming in to the fight to measure things and gather information, then fleeing when things got ugly to reagrupate and/or rethink his strategy to come back later to combat, and a Barnes-like effect bringing a stealth minion has easily the flavor of a stealthy Ambush.
#7 Confirmed. I'm not very happy that I was right.
You're not happy with a playable legendary ?
He's not happy that the legendary is just boring, we wanted Blizzard to do something fun and interesting with the leader of one of the factions, instead they grabbed the effect, amplified it and done.
Legendary cards that amplify an effect of a certain theme are the legendaries that get played generally. A playable legendary that is boring is infinitely better than a wacky legendary that is effectively useless
The first login after the update goes live we will be asked which faction we would like to join. As a reward we get one pack that contains all tri-class cards for that faction. So we get one legendary, two rares and two commons. Potentially the freebie could include a card back for the chosen faction, so you could show off your pick.
I absolutely love the idea and that would be such a thematically cool way to enter the expansion, but I doubt that Blizzard will be that generous this time. But I so wish there was something actually associated with picking a faction on the release.
1) If the meta gives an opportunity for control Shaman to be viable and there will be tools to support it, I don't see why it wouldn't work. 2) Yes please. I'd love to have an environment where Hand/Renolock could thrive. 3) Yes to dragon synergistic cards. No to Priest legendary being a dragon. 4) Doubt it, Priest seems to be getting dragon support of its own as it is and we covered dragon synergy above. 5) I have doubts about Arena being balanced. They said they are working hard on it, but I don't think they are aiming to achieve balance with MSG release, it will be done as the game goes. However, I think that more classes will rise up to the Tier 1 spot. 6) Confused, do you mean that every Kabal card will have the red mana mechanic? 7) Wasn't here in time to make bets on this one, but I thought it would have a different effect, not the amplified Goons mechanic. 8) I think it will be playable. Seems like Blizzard really wants to get at least these three faction legendaries right. 9) Agreed. 10) Agreed, though I really don't want it to be the case.
I am hoping to see control Warlock cards as well, after the release of Arcane Giant and Thing From Below I feel the Magma Giant nerf was completely unjustifiable and that Warlock was probably "screwed" by Blizzard into being only a notch above Priest.

You mean those useless cards like Reno Jackson, Elise Starseeker, Yogg-Saron, Hope's End, Barnes, Ragnaros the Firelord , Lord Jaraxxus... Just to name a few. I don't think it's true about the amplified effect. I think that most of the legendaries played are the original one - simply because Blizzard makes very few boring/lazy legendaries - they want the legendaries to stand out. The playability doesn't depend on whether it's original or boring. It's only about balancing the effect and stats.

"we wanted" please don't talk on behalf of everyone else. Don Han'Cho is exactly what I wanted and fits perfectly in the decks I theorycrafted.
Would you be more happy with an unplayable but funny and interesting legendary ? Are you happy with Cho ? Millhouse ? Majordomo ? Anub'arak ? What I read on this forum is that people HATE cards that aren't good enough for ladder, especially legendaries.
But this one IS good enough, and people still get a way to whine because it's "boring" ? What is boring anyway ? 99% of the community doesn't play the fun cards EVER but they don't like "boring" what the hell. You're whining for the sake of it.
You haven't played with that card yet, maybe the entire grimy goon archetype will turn out to be fun and interactive, how do you even know ?
We're definitely not whining for the sake of it. I'm a Blizzard fanboy all the way and I understand that it's not easy to make a new, original effect for every single legendary (even though Blizzard is doing amazing job so far). I'm just super disappointed that a pivotal card to the set gets a lazy design like that. There were so many ways to do this card both synergestic with the whole theme of the gang and also playable that this just feels bad.
EDIT: And saying that 99% of the community doesn't play the fun cards EVER? That's even worse than saying "we wanted Blizzard..." and super hypocritical of you. Just look at the post above this one for just a few cards with great design that are played. And there's so much more of them.
The only thing I am really looking forward to is a viable priest and shaman legendary. Every other class has if not before with this expansion a good legendary just shaman and priest are still lacking them. Like Al'Akir is not bad sure but not really viable (and it was the only played shaman legendary ever. Not even Neptune was that highly played and Hallazeal lost her identity). And priest? They got Vol'Jin and then lost everything.
Not even played yet, but just the thought that Smuggler's Run coexists in the same class as Grimestreet Outfitter, I think there's nothing really good to look forward to in this expansion.

Yeah, The murlocs actually have some fairly powerful abilities, making them stickier and bigger could be really effective. Will have to test it out. It still might not be good enough due to not being able to fit all the cards that would really make it good.

We will be getting MSG, literally.

My guess more "Give a random Minion" cards.
Oh, right. That sounds cool, hope we will see something like it.
