Has the BG meta changed in the last two weeks or so? I'm consistently getting 5th/6th place -50s for over a week now. I've had one or two top twos, and a bunch of barely break even 3rds, but I'm literally down 700ish rating. Would be nice if Blizz readded the caps sometime. Jandice? No tokens, so nothing happens earlygame, and stabilizing with 3/big demons can't happen when you don't get there. Rag? HP not active by turn 8, and I'm dead. I'm ending up at 6 for multiple turns as Milihouse with zero 6s other than the free one from on the house (got a lucky timed match against ghost for a tavern up the turn before). And that's when I'm not having to choose between shudderwock and eudora, for example. I can't get two pieces of scaling synergy most games; either I'm sub-25 by turn 8ish and thus dead to a half decent loss, or I'm not and I die to two losses. Sometimes I get one scaling card and limp to 4th for -10ish, but you really need two, and early. I've been over 6k this season, and I'll probably be at 5 soon. This feels like the just-added-elementals period where I got blocked at 4k last season without pass because it was so hero dependant, but I can't see any reason for it. The last patch barely touched anything.
People stopped ignoring the midgame. There might be a couple of players aiming for the highroll in the lobby, but the manority will be building a mid-to-late game team and dealing damage earlier than before.
Sometimes you can't afford to go for a Nomi or two or something similar, you will need to go for immediate power because your opponent is doing the same.

Hmm, thanks. So probably look for the earlier T3/4 synergies, bulk out with the TT4 demon lord etc.? Will try switching to that.

The taunt stuff are quite powerful, as well as some of the pre-existing strong 3 and 4* like Bolvar and Drakonid, using Jug on whatever minions you have or Mech in General. You don't need to focus on these as a long term plan, but you can't just ignore them as we did before, unless you got lucky with the matchups and got to these turns at a high life total.
Also, you can't always postpone getting triples until you reach a high tavern tier. When you're weak, you just triple on the spot and look for immediate power rather than a late-game plan.
That is probably why so many people go Menagerie in the late game, as a couple of Amalgadons can transform a heap of junk into a proper lineup.

I think you must go for tempo, not sinergies
