So it's not a complaint because I lost to this and got salty. I myself abuse this strategy and it works for me most of the time. But playing a lot both with it and against it I have to admit - it is stupid. What exactly I am talking about?
Here's a strategy with Galakrond - keep upgrading one and the same minion, while freezing it and in the meantime buying random crap from the tavern. You really won't lose so quickly having your board full of shit - it's a common knowledge it is better to have full board without any synergies than trying to look for a strategy in the early game. If you are lucky, you will be winning early rounds. If not - you'll just lose a couple of HP, but not many, since you spam your board.
Ultimately you will have a tier 6 minion in your tavern, while the rest of folks is at tier 2/3. Hit a good one and you've won. All of the below ones gotten early make you win:
Goldrinn, the Great Wolf
Kalecgos, Arcane Aspect
Nadina The Red
Any of 3 Elemental cards
Any of Mechs
Any of Pirates
Basically as long as you don't hit one of 4-5 cards, which don't give you a game plan, out of 15 options, you've won. And you can re-roll, if you are unlucky - it's not like you have just one shoot.
EDIT: A screenshot from a minute ago. Quick Goldrinn, easy win.
There is a loss in that you future board will depend on what you find. You may get lucky that what you have collected thus far works with what you find but more often than not you can't salvage much. You are usually now locked to a tribe you haven't built for yet and now must find them. But if your first tier 6 card choice is strong you should be okay. Second choice probably as well but it's starting to cost you now.
You don't get unlimited rerolls at tier 6... more like 1 max before you start getting heavily punished. 1) You need a plan for you board and delaying it any longer is hard to recover from. 2) you need to start refreshing Bob's offerings about this point. 3) Maybe at lower MMR you can compete with basic unboosted, unsynergized minions this long but not at higher MMR.
So his curve starts slow then gets an instant big spike up high then flattens out for a bit again while you rebuild. Much depends on what you find and the rebuild but your chances are good. But there are several tier 6 that don't play well early so there is some gamble here. There are also several tier 4 and 5 worth taking instead.
There is more to playing him as well at a top level but this is the main strategy. It starts to get trickier getting multiple tier ups after that point since you are reliant on refreshing the tavern. But one good strategy can be to tier up a minion on your last refresh and freeze the board. Then tier it up again at the start of your next turn for a double.
The next match I had with Galakrond was typical. I had a hodge podge of minions focused on stats while I went for a tier 6. I got fairly lucky to find a Garr first try. I had no elemental synergies and had to reset my board and had to hope I found enough. In this process I was knocked down to 7 health but just in time I got a Majordomo and cycled enough elementals to get Garrs health high enough to keep me alive. I went from death row to first place. I was also lucky no one was running any poisonous cards.
My MMR is floating between 7800-8300.
I'm not sure why you think he is stupid. I enjoy playing him a lot and pick him over any other hero every time.
I'm not sure I've ever seen him actually win a game (barring an early Kalecgos). But he's really bad for the game simply because of how punishing it is to play against him on the swing turn. Especially with a card like the Tide Razor, it's not uncommon to take 15-20 damage if you have the misfortune of catching him when he rolls into a T6.

Because in a game mode that already is focused more on luck than skill, it requires even less skill to be played and all you need to win with him is a high roll. Hit a good tier 6 - gg, you won.

I agree, you have like 2 chances to hit a good minion, before it starts going downhill. But there's literally like 10 out of 15 minions (taking into consideration all tribes - Galakrond would lose some power in a game, where, let's say Beasts and Elementals, are excluded.). These are very good odds for a huge reward.
I don't agree with "building your board for a tribe till you have your tier 6" part. Especially at higher levels you don't usually start your strategy early. It's all about getting full value from your gold. At 6 gold you pretty much buy whatever 2 minions are the best in your tavern at that point. Refreshing is a tempo and gold loss and you start getting damage early if you have 3 minions and your opponents have 6. Unless the Tavern literally throws certain strategy at your face, you buy what you get. Very few people in the lobby have plan for their late game at a point, when you get your tier 6 from Galakrond. It's by any means not too late to switch completely to a certain tribe.

I cant agree more, it is very stupid also because what kind of damage he can do to the early game players. Like that demon mama. The early damage is just too huge to recover, it is like a upgraded version of AFK
What I don't like about Galakrond, is that you can face him on, say, turn 9, and get hit for 33 damage because he rolled the absolute uber nuts. This just happened to me, right after getting a nice turn 7 Chef Nomi and having had one single turn to switch to and scale an Elemental build. I knew I wasn't strong right then, but I was at a comfortable 29HP, or so I thought.
I don't tend to get too salty playing Battlegrounds, but this shit pisses me off like nothing else.

That's part of the way to use him. He is strong.

He's not stupid - just strong after his buff. He was pretty much non existent pre the last update - much as many of the old strong heroes are now.
Just his time in the sun - enjoy it whilst it lasts.

Just got him again and got 1st again. This time he found a Lil'Rag for me as the first T6. I love him.
