A fun Wild deck composed of cheap spells and high-value minions, many of them with Taunt. The Recruit mechanic is exploited to pull your minions for free and improve your draws.
(Feb. 2018 update: +1 Lesser Jasper Spellstone +1 Sen'jin Shieldmasta +1 Azure Drake +1 Grizzled Guardian -1 Jade Blossom -1 Nourish -1 Primordial Drake -1 Master Oakheart)
Explanation of cards:
Dirty Rat - Synergy with all Recruit cards in the deck with potential benefit of pulling an important card.
Plated Beetle - A 2 drop that helps with the early game, synergy with Oakheart.
Greedy Sprite - Ramp redundancy with Recruit synergy. The 3 attack threatens to make a good trade.
Infested Tauren - Triple-dip synergy with Recruit, Hadronox, and Deathrattle!
Second-Rate Bruiser - Remember when this card was the rage in Gadgetzan Reno decks? This deck lacks removal options so having potentially cheap Taunts never hurt.
Reno Jackson - Because highlander decks are fun even without Kabal cards.
Notable exclusions:
Doomsayer - I'd rather not recruit it - though it could potentially be an upside. Need to try it out perhaps.
Mire Keeper - Rather not recruit a 3/3 on Turn 4 or 5.
With the recruit and deathrattle stuff going on, do you think Baron Rivendale has a place here?
Although there are deathrattles they are probably not strong enough to justify running a 4 mana 1/7. It can be good against slower decks and good Oakheart synergy but it gets either devoured or ignored by aggro if you pull it out on turn 4 or 5. That being said, may be worth experimenting.
