Zoolock has been a deck since the beggining of time but it hasn't been tier 1 for a while. Thanks to the new 1 drop Kobold Librarian and 2 drop Vulgar Homunculus from KaC I think it is going to be a very cheap and tier 1 aggro deck that focuses more on overstated demons and demon synergy rather than turn 2 Prince Keleseth draws making the deck much more consistant.
MULLIGAN:
The mulligan is going to be almost the same against all classes, keep everything that costs 1 mana and Vulgar Homunculus. If you have a 1-cost demon that you think will survive keeping Demonfire is usually a good idea also. Against rogue keeping Flame Imp can be bad if you have other one drops but otherwise you always keep it.
GAMEPLAN:
This version of zoo is very aggressive and can easily win games by turn 5. Push as much damage as possible early game and only make trades you think are necessary. Rely on Doomguard and Soulfire to finish the game. Don't worry about your health total dealing 10+ damage to yourself is fine even if it looks scary you should still make the play that puts the most stats on the board. Make sure to play around enemy board clears (ex: don't make your entire board have 5 health against priest on turn 6).
Remember this deck is not fully optimized so any changes you think you should make you should probably make, maybe even leave a comment of what you changed. Have fun with this deck and good luck on ladder.
Stats:
Non-budget upgrades/changes:
Upgrade - Bonemare + Corridor Creeper
VS pirates - Demonfire + Golakka Crawler
VS control warlock -1 Despicable Dreadlord +1 Spellbreaker
VS tempo decks - Darkshire Councilman + Bloodfury Potion
Here's a video of Kadak playing the deck:
possessed lacky is really bad.
No this is a zoo deck
Yo, this is some of my game-play with this deck. It's another cheap one dust wise ;) Have fun.
I pulled a gul'dan and it seemed like it would be good in here. Anything i can swap out for it? A bonemare maybe?
I think guldan is a little slow for this deck but bonemare seems like a good swap.
Greetings guys!
Always happy to test out budget decks since I am F2P as well and I think zoo lock has a lot of potential when we talk about budget decks since there are a lot of good quality cards for few dust when we talk about zoo.
I tried the deck and made a video about it! You can see two matchups right there and that is a QUEST otk druid which is certainly not looking for a matchup versus zoo so he got kinda punished although there was a really interaction with baron geddons - have you ever seen two of them on the board? :O I did not. The second is against mill rogue - again archetype that is not really looking into queing to aggro so pretty easy match right there.
I hope you can enjoy the video and have a nice day everyone! :)
Thanks a lot man! I am glad that you like my work and I appreciate the kind words!
Any good one drop you would normal see in zoo. Acherus veteran, blood imp
I changed it for Fallen Sun Cleric and it works for me :)
not sure if it is still possible as the meta is getting a lot more competitive and there are tons of priest and the aggro mage match up kinda sucks. Rank 5 is definitely pretty easy to get with this deck though.
Wow only 4% queue against priests, pretty lucky
Those stats were from day 2 and 3 of the expansion so there were not many priests
Thanks for the deck, it's working well for me. I replaced both malchezaar's imps with corridor creepers and I'm happy with the change, that might take it outside of the realm of a budget deck though. Keep it up!
but why?
I haven't opened a Kobold Librarian yet and I don't want to waste dust on it. Any subs?
Definitely not a waste of dust but any other one drop you would normal see in zoo would work i guess. Its really one of the best cards in the deck.
Do you think I should play Soulfire even if i don't run Malchezar's Imp?
Yes. Great direct damage late game and even using it for early board control can be ok without imp.
Any place to fit for Leeroy Jenkins?
Leeroy could probably replace a Bonemare or Spellbreaker
