First of all congrats on Dog for just getting Rank 1 Legend on EU. As you can see this is a taunt heavy control deck that works extremely well against the current meta (He had about 7 hunters in a row that he destroyed and a couple zoo and miracle). Pretty straight forward play style, always clear the board and send out those big taunt minions.
Always mulligan for your Chow/Innervate/Wild growth/Wrath/Golem etc.
Zombie Chow: Your #1 purpose is getting value with your trades and Zombie Chow is great for that early game. Plus you're not worried about doing any damage in the early game anyways; so 90% of the time when your Chow dies it'll heal for nothing because your opponent will be at full health still.
Please up-vote and continue to ask questions, I'll do my best to answer each and every one. :)
Anyways all credit to Dog for this great deck and congrats to him on Rank 1!
Possible substitutions:
Cenarius = Kel'thuzad
Sylvanas = BK/Loatheb/Harrison Jones
Harvest Golem= Shade of Naxrammas
*Swapped out a Chow for BGH.
I don't really run this deck because I don't use FoN or Savage Roar and a few other changes, but the biggest change is running two Mind Control Techs. I find when the Tazdingos come out, they generally get destroyed by something, then the opponent has 4 minions smashing face on my next turn and a sludge belcher wont do to subside it. So the MCT and a hero power has generally wiped two and left me in decent position. Though you need wraiths early game or innervates to really win anything in order to survive turns 1 and 2.
What about swapping a sen'jin for Loatheb? Also pretty frustrating that handlock is autoloss.
To everyone saying this deck is not anti-zoo, you're doing it wrong. If you manage to survive long enough to innervate an ancient of war on turn 5, or double innervate it on turn 3, it will be GG. Just make sure you lay out your small taunts first, like tazdingos and belchers, then when he's out of soulfires bring out the pain with the big guys and win. I faced 4 zoo locks in a row and beat them all, but RNG was on my side.
anybody have dogs twitch?
Can I replace Zombie Chow with anything? I haven´t completed the zombie max challenge yet
thinking of replacing tazdingos with yetis, any thoughts?
I think you need the taunts
I agree
Agreed. I'm not sure how this is an anti-zoo deck at all. Zoos absolutely destroy this deck, it's not even a contest. There are too many costly minions in this deck for it to be competitive against Zoo. By the time the mid to heavy minions roll out, there's a swarm of enemy low cost minions...and 1 - 2 of your minions are easily dealt with with either theirs or with removal.
It's "ok" (nothing great) against other types of decks, I don't see what the fuss is about this deck...I've had a lot more success with other Druid builds.
Maybe it's just the difference between EU and US metas or something. It definitely lacks in the US meta.
Having a blast with the deck, gratz to the OP and to the Deck creator :)
ramp druid is gonna have a resurgence after the buzzard and leeroy nerfs since hunter will disappear lol. cant wait to see dog using ramp as often as before again
Completely agree, it's also starting to be used more in tournaments. It does quite well.
That's true, but ramp druid's also have a notorious unfavored matchup against good handlock players...and with all the hunters gone there's gonna be handlocks...handlocks everywhere, so it's kind of a tradeoff.
Well the tournament players had a general consensus that mid-range/ramp druid with double combo is generally favored against handlock so there is some variation of ramp that can do okay against handlock. But either way handlock even at its prime was nowhere near as prominent and used as hunter so its all good :D
I only have one Ancient of Lore and one Ancient of War, twoIronbark Protector can replace them?
I see, it's too hard to replace AoL but I think I'll craft a Sunwalker cause i dont have any and it costs less than Ancient of Lore. Thanks anyway :D
The reason why I wouldn't is because even if you don't have both in your hand , either one can help clear the board in lots of situations or even help finish the game with the extra damage.
You can definitely swap Sylvanas out for Loatheb or Cairne but I don't know what else you could get rid of if you want both of those cards in there. Everything else is pretty important.
Just finish playing 15 games with this deck, with minor change -1 Cenarius +1 The Black Knight
DRUID
vs Warlock (Zoo)
5-0
vs Rogue
3-0
vs Warrior
3-1
vs Druid
0-1
vs Shaman
0-1
vs Paladin
0-1
vs Hunter
0-1
The match against Hunter was close, but unfortunately he had Kill Command in his hand :(
To my surprise, I could won 3 times against Warrior. I think the key is we have to be really, really aggressive. Against Zoo and Rogue, this deck is perfect!
Hey good work to keep that deck in our minds!
Saw Dog playing this on his stream some days ago and was surprised by the performance, i thought this kind of deck is somehow out of meta. I used to play Ramp Druid like 3 seasons ago but now it made a strong comeback at my account! Made it today from rank 10 with 0 stars to rank 6 on 1 star (and winning streak still going on!). Hope i can get back at least to my old rank (2) with this.
I maybe would consider to put Black Knight in instead of Sylvanas, i kinda felt this card is often too long in my hand, before it can be used for full value and there is almost in every matchup a taunt you can hit.
And i love the Zombie Chow!! It gives this deck a reason to play in this fast meta, and it curves the druid-early-game perfectly on turn 1, so you don't mind to use wild growth on turn 2 instead of hero-power for killing small stuff!
Btw. guys, i don't have Cenarius and replaced him with Kel'Thuzad and went perfectly today (seen above)!
