Here are my thoughts on what Exodia Mage will look like come next patch. Leyline Manipulator should make for a questless version.
The new six card Exodia package includes:
1x Apprentice,2x Simulacrum, 1x Leyline, 1x Molten Reflection, 1x Antonidas.
You also need to survive to 10 mana and find time to cast 10 mana worth of set-up (2x Simulacrum, 1x Leyline).
I've included doubles of the Apprentice, Leyline, and the Reflection just for consistency's sake. Between Aluneth adding insane draw, the freeze effects, and all the extra pieces, it shouldn't be too bad to assemble the new Combo.
I have played a ton of Questless Exodia Mage in Wild. I am very excited for Aluneth but i'm not yet convinced it belongs in Exodia Mage. Hand management is absolutely critical for combo decks, so unless the deck is designed specifically to dump your hand every turn after you equip the weapon, it might be a really bad idea.
This is a pretty smart combo! I was wondering about Aluneth though. Wouldn't it cause some issues after the second turn of being active due to the huge amount of card draw?
