Hey guys and gals! This is just a little theory craft deck centered around the new shaman card Lesser Sapphire Spellstone which upgrades to Sapphire Spellstone which then upgrades to Greater Sapphire Spellstone.

I am sure many people believe that the sapphire is simply another win more card that will see little play. I don't necessarily believe this will be the case. It's no surprise that an effect that copies a minion 3 times is powerful. However, at a price 7 mana, many people (including myself) are worried that this card is going to be too clunky in practice. In standard, that may well be the case, but there are cards in wild that happen to combo with the sapphire incredibly well!

Obviously, the dream play would be to use the sapphire on a fat minion such as Ragnaros the Firelord. Unfortunately, this will not always be possible due to the large mana cost of the sapphire. The large minion is going to have to survive on the board for a turn before you will be able to copy it. I still included Ragnaros the Firelord and The Lich King because if they do manage to stick, you win the game. Simply drop Ancestral Spirit on your Rag before using the sapphire on it.

You now have 4 Rags that resummon themselves upon death.

The only thing that will stop you here is a Kazakus potion. If your opponent uses Vanish, you still drop rags for your next 4 turns. If your opponent uses devolve, you still have 4 7-drops on board. This is all assuming that the four Rags don't just end the game at the end of that turn.

So obviously that scenario is great if you manage to pull it off. That won't always be the case, however. So what do you do with your sapphire if your opponent is pressuring you? Luckily there are a number of power plays that will create an immediate field presence from an empty board. Drakkari Defender is conveniently priced at 3 mana, allowing you to drop it before casting the sapphire on it to create a wall of 4 2/8 taunts. If you hit both cards with an Emperor Thaurissan discount, you are able to play an Earth Elemental and sapphire it on the same turn creating a ludicrous wall of FOUR 7/8's WITH TAUNT! Even better, however, is the fact that both of these minions will upgrade the sapphire before you play it meaning that the sapphire can start the turn at level 2 and still copy the minions 3 times.

[card]Thing from Below[/card] and Snowfury Giant are 2 other cards that can be dropped and copied by sapphire on the same turn.

The sapphire can also be used offensively to gain lethal! If you hit both the sapphire and Leeroy Jenkins with an Emp T discount, you are able to copy Leeroy the turn you drop him. This puts out a very respectable 24 damage burst. If you want to build a deck centered around this combo, you can throw in copies of Abusive Sergeant, which, if hit by Emp T, will put the combo up to 32 damage or even 40!

I will explain the basic structure of the deck later. Feel free to comment!
