As a demonlock player since the beginning of the game, this is the most fun version I have played to date, Gul'dan is the icing on the cake :-).
Credit goes to this deck for giving me the structure http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/887101-wild-daemoniac-renolock, I just like more demons :-)
As much as I love Jaraxxus, I never naturally play him. Therefore I am thinking of subbing him with Kabal Trafficker.
Other cards I would like to include potentially - Lakkari Felhound (to cheat out with Voidcaller or Krul) and Bane of Doom.
I'm not sure what else could be removed - maybe Sunfury Protector (her taunt doesn't help too often) or Imp Gang Boss (he is a great early minion, but sometimes if he generates a lot of imps playing Gul'dan fills the board with them and not the good demons :-) )
EDIT - I did replace Jaraxxus with Kabal Trafficker, she is decent although she can really fill your hand with BAD demons at times (I am looking at you Wrathguard and Howlfiend).
EDIT - I took out Kabal Trafficker and Sunfury Protector for reasons listed above :-). I added Rin and Spellbreaker. Rin is really fun, and not as useless as people thought before release. Short of winning there is no better satisfaction than destroying an opponent's deck. Spellbreaker just makes sense, there are always good silence targets like silencing the other guy's Rin or bonemare'd minion.
Other cards I am considering adding (not sure what to remove, maybe Dread Infernal)
- Demonwrath - another AOE could help with aggro
- Skull of the Man'ari - free demons on the board are always good, and weapon removal is not too common
- Voidlord - great defensive minion, but might make the deck too late game heavy
EDIT - I took out mortal coil and Dread Infernal, and added Demonwrath (for aggro) and Voidlord
LATEST EDIT - I swapped Tar Creeper for Dirty Rat to try and give me something against Togwaggle Druid (seems unbeatable with my deck)
If you face a control deck, then Rin is great, but sometimes in such an occasion you really might not want to risk her getting silenced. I guess that's what you have Power Overwhelming for. I currently have a standard deck where Ratcatcher is of good use - you might want to give it a try ;)
Downside: needs 2 more turns. Upside: You have a 5/8 rush minion on the board. Just a thought.
And if you have the dust: I am sure Godfrey would love to be included here :D
Thanks dps_kane!
This is the first time anyone has ever commented on one of my decks. I definitely think I need to tweak this deck, I switched back to it post the nerfs (I was playing cube) and it hasn't been doing well, not sure if it's bad matchups, the deck itself, or me :-).
Ratcatcher looks fun to me, definitely on my list to try. I do have godfrey and want to use him, as there are many games where I would love another board clear.
I am thinking of trying a different Reno deck with more consistent demons, meaning no more Guldan pulling back imps from imp gang boss for one thing :-). Thinking of something like https://twitter.com/keithnumbershs/status/1001630399141990400
I was using your list and two others to get inspired about what to put into mine :)
unique cards is a big sacrifice, but Kazakus & Reno are truly powerhouses (Krul less so, but I have him too, so I *want* to add him, but right now I have too few demons around...)
As I saw Imp Gang Boss in your list I was first thinking that's a powerful demon, but then I thought of the downside - definitely not worth it.
I also added Brann to my deck, basically for the sole purpose of triggering it with Healbot, Kazakus or Stonehill Defender (I have no Dirty Rat and I do not want to craft it)
Thanks for the twitter post of Keith, that sounds promosing - though I lack yet again some powerful cards here (the Gorgonzola & Mal'Ganis e.g.)
