Elemental Midrange Legend October 2017
Hi, I'm Wololo and I bring the deck that carry me to Legend this season. This was my third time legend with Shaman (Midrange, Token and now Elemental). I like it because is fun to play and play against (you don't feel like the deck plays itself).
Proof:
As you can see, the version in the pics have two Doomsayer, but it was only a tech against aggro in the last rank. The ORIGINAL VERSION, which I think is a bit more versatile had instead Bloodmage Thalnos and Lightning Storm. I put them both and you can choose what works you better.
Edit: Because of the high numbers of cancerous prince decks even in Legend, I decided to keep running the 2 doomsayer I used as techs from rank 1 to Legend.
It has near 70% winrate, could be better but I made some littles misplays sometimes. But at least I learned from them and can give you some tips, for who needs them:
1) Mulligan for your early curve (max 3 mana): Fire Fly, Jade Claws, Flametongue Totem, Maelstom Portal(if aggro , or with Thalnos), Doomsayer (if you ran him), Tar Creeper and sometimes Devolve (If you go second). Don't be greedy at least you are sure of the matchup.
2) Choose wisely between Tempo and Value: Sometimes, tapping and keeping cards can help you latter (to avoid AOE's and to use them when are really necessary), but sometimes not playing a card in curve can lose you the game and you never get to play the card you keep. If you have a golakka and they don't play a pirate in turn 2 I would play it the same, because whats matter the most is BOARD CONTROL. The same to an early life saving Devolve or AOE. But if you can, try keeping "Direct Damage" (like Jade Lightning) to when you really can need it.
3) Keep in mind the position of your minions for Flametongue and sometimes to avoid things like Meteor or Garrosh DK when possible.
4) Use a tracker or try to know what cards played and can play your opponent, and how that affects your game. You can't always play around everything, but I sometimes lose to things like a rogue playing Kalimos (from Swashburglar) or a paladin playing a thug-life Deathwing.
5) Most of the time you control board, to avoid punishment from things like Bonemare, but sometimes you have to pressure face. Keep in mind possible lethals with Bloodlust, flametongues and direct damages.
6) Sometimes you lose from your misplays, and sometimes by draw or luck. Learn what you can and keep playing, getting Legend is only a matter of time, enjoy the game.
Edit: I forget, against druid, priest and other controls be wise with your board. Play around AOE's and removal from them, and Mind Control Tech and Spreading Plague from druid. Devolve is a card you want in this matchups.
As I said, against priest try to have minions with 4 attack and minions with 6 or more health, like a Servant of Kalimos (4/5) and a Blazecaller (6/6). So either their Dragon potion or the DK don't have so much value.
Keep your Lich King until they play they removals, as much as you can. Once they spent their AOE, go wide for Bloodlust if you can. Against druid or you have 3 big minions on board, to avoid MCT, or have a wide board so it's have less chance of give them something good. But if you choose this last option, be aware of the Plague. That's why you would want a Devolve + Maelstrom Portal or Bloodlust for lethal.
Against warlock and warrior play around their aoes and trade low health minions that activates thieir Defile/Brawl or dies to thier combo whirling effects.
Keep always at least a plan B if you already have a board, don't overcomitte to a heavy AOE, (including Deathwing in meta paladin), except you accept risking everything for a lethal.
And everything you don't have in this deck, you can replace it with Bloodmage Thalnos, Lightning Storm, and Mana Tide Totem or Stonehill Defender.
Edit 2: I include the DK because some people are having a lot of control matchups in this meta it seems, and because its fun (why not xD)
Ask if you need something, see ya!
Video: (thanks to TheSynch)
switched to control lock went to legend after getting nowhere with your deck so.....Not to be rude just not all that good for me sorry.
It depends of a lot of things that, I also get legend and above is the proof. But when you have problems with certain matchups you can modify the deck (mainly the techs), as simple as that. Good luck this season too, whatever deck you use.
yeah well then you have the issue where making that change and then you dont run into that issue and that change is now counterproductive so you revert only to get that same match up you originally modified for and you are no longer modified.
Especially with comments like "I switched to control lock after getting nowhere with your deck". So we should all just drop a deck when one player says it doesn't work?
Am I not entitled to have a thought and to express it. But go Right ahead and do it. I could use the view count boost :D As for getting to legend anybody can get to legend. Its not that hard. Play rogue, dont be stupid pray for noncounter matchups and will get there. I hover my rank around 5 for testing purposes. If a deck can get from 5-3 it can get from 3- legend.
Some place for DK?
One golakka as you said earlier or the lich king ;)
What do you mean?
Real helpful... Guy got to legend with this, so unless you have something to add...
what do you think about replace 1 golakka for 2nd jade spirit? i think this deck has a lot 2 drops already.
After Ranks 5, 3 of 5 matches you would play against pirates, mainly in the prince decks. And the first 2 or 3 turns dictates a lot of matchups. A LOT. Thats why the so many 2 drops. But if you only see control, changing them with Thalnos will serve you better as it helps against aggro and control (card draw, jade lightting) and combined with spell damage totem can do high damage for cheap, and a Lightting storm or Mana tide totem. Good luck!
i played with this deck 3 hour and i climbed rank 9 to 5. 12 win 3 lost amazing deck thank you so much dude.
Thanks to you buddy, I'm glad it works, more being a fun deck, thats the best part :P
What's your win condition against priest? So far I'm 0-5 vs cancer priest at rank 5.
The doomsayer helps a lot in the early against the inner fire decks. Play around their AOEs wisely, for example try to have in board a 4/5 and a 6/6, so either the dragon potion or the Dk works them at 100%,don't play all into their AOE, keep value as fuel, then when you can pressure face and go for bloodlust if possible. That it, you can tech things like the DK, dirty rat or another bloodlust if you feel you need it. Good luck!
How can i replace 2 doomsayers? :/ I dont have dust to craft this for now. The deck is very interesting. Thankyouu
Thalnos/Zealot and Lightting Storm, or Stormforged Axe
i got all the card except 2xBlazeCaller what do you recon i swaping them with??
That's hard, if you had Stone Sentinel go with them if not Jade Chieftain, or Stonehill Defender/ Mana Tide Totem/ Hot Spring Guardian for card draw or elemental synergy. Try some of this and if then if you like this kind of deck craft the blazecallers, they works for others elemental decks too. That's it ;)
nice deck, after a long time not see kalimos, finally can see it again XD
here my 3 games vs warlock, hunter, and rogue. enjoy :)
