DISCLAIMER - This Deck is similar to Reynads' with possible changes, however, I created this deck without checking out those possible changes, I dont watch his stream as well. Just coincidence. Nonetheless I give all the credits to Reynad for MS deck idea.
After MS deck was published by Reynad I've tried it and got 5 rank, even got 2nd after I've changed some cards. I was tired of Hunters, so I tried priest, lock, war etc. to gain legend - that was unlucky for me - back to rank 9. After couple days around rank 5 I've decided to change some stuff and create some sort of zoo hunter.
Main difference from other hunters - no Starving Buzzard and Unleash the Hounds.
Just mulligan for Flare against Hunters and Mages. Ur main combo for all matchups - Undertaker + any deathrattle (esp. if u have coin + Leper Gnome or Webspinner.
Your goal is to kill opponent as fast as u can, control the board, attack with Eaglehorn Bow, use Tracking for double Kill Command etc. You will figure out how to play this.
This deck brought me to legend from rank 5 curse in 2 days. Good luck!
P.S. I dont like playing this easy deck (same with zoolock), but I had a goal to get legend in any case.
Video from my stream, where I got legendary. Hunter vs Hunter. (Russian language)
Zoo locks are absolutely kicking my A$$ with this deck! lol I have had much better luck against none zoo locks with it. lol
The reason why Reynad's deck is better is because it is much more consistent. Of course this deck is nice but: Without a really fast starting hand and an opponent who doesn't have the right answers you will run out of steam so fast. Buzzard+Unleash Combo is just to important imo. It's almost always a board clear + so much card draw. Yeah, here you have two Kill Commands for bursts. But against control decks there are so many situations where you are forced to use it to get rid of a big threat. Everyone know this, it feels so bad using KC against Minions and when it happens to you, you are really happy it didn't hit your face.
Maybe this deck has a good winning rate for lots of people. But in the current meta with so many controlish or board flooding decks it's just like: Yeah let's just push for damage and hope I topdeck leathal. Don't know how it worked 1 or 2 weeks ago, guess it was really good against Mad Scientiest Hunters. But for now, as the season started and people are trying to climb ranks as consistent as possible using lots of control decks I don't think it's still that strong.
Its all about if u get undertaker combo early or not. Undertaker is usefull only when u have it early else its completely useless card. Also i noticed if u dont get explosive trap early against zoo u will get rekt.
Not really, you have lots of good early drops, as well as the bow combos.
This deck is insanely good, I am 10-2 as of the new season. Only decks I have lost to is 2 zoo decks but it was still extremely close. Played a handlock and won on turn 5 with 30 health.
Went from Rank 13 (no stars) to rank 6 (3 stars) only by losing 4 times. This deck is sick!
Just what the game needed...more deathrattle zoo decks. I downvoted it just on that alone. Then I saw the creator's attitude and I'm glad I gave it the downvote. I hope others follow suit.
It's hardly the deck maker's fault that these kinds of decks are effective and popular... Yeah, he's got a bad attitude, but be objective about the purpose of the deck.
thanks a lot buddy. got to legend with this deck.
I just checked my stats to see how it does vs Hunter... it's my second weakest matchup at 35-25 for a 58% winrate. I feel by the time they get their combo it's usually too late for them to catch up since they have no heal and the hunter mechanic is free damage every turn.
Weakest matchup is vs warrior at 44% winrate, but that should be obvious. Surprisingly Druid is the easiest matchup at 17-5.
Strange, I do well against Hunters but terrible against Druids (and Warriors).
Do you save flare for the shades? I can't count the number of games Druid coins or innervates for shade only to get flared then killed by leper or 2/3 undertaker. Game's pretty much over at that point...
This deck is super easy to play and if you can't reach legend with it, the problem is not the deck at all.
I used to play reynad's op trap hunter and was stuck around rank 2 and fell off to rank 5. I picked this one from rank 5 to legend with a 68% winrate, peaked at legend rank 200 and now hover around 500. I also tried a control warrior when I reached Legend and fell to 2400, made it back up in an evening with this deck. OP.
GL!
Edit: peaked at 130 just now and done for this season!
Haven't read many of the comments, have you?
A lot of the comments say it's too situational, lacks card draw or simply lost them ranks.
It's not situational when it holds a better than 55% winrate vs everything but warrior at top legend and clearly doesnt lose ranks... if they lose rank with it, it's not the deck.
It does lack card draw though, but strangely I could still take out tracking for Leeroy and gain more ranks... so card draw must not be THAT big of an issue.
And the cat is not out of the bag since I just made it back up to 130 over the last two hours with a 67% winrate. But please, blame the deck instead of improving your play...
"But please, blame the deck instead of improving your play..."
Like I said, haven't read many of the comments. I like the deck, but between work, life, and RNG, it doesn't guarantee Legend. I ran out of time last season, but may well try again.
ayy.
I went from Rank 7 to Rank 2 with only one loss. I've had some trouble so far at Rank 2, but I'm battling through it. Trying to get Legend before the season ends. If you see me on the ladder, kindly concede.
I've been running Zombie Chow as a cheap 1 drop in this deck. Works pretty well so far.
I think this deck is too much situational. I had a win streak from rank 9 to 5 but it was only pure luck, because you don't have anything to play against big minions. If you can't kill your opponent before turn 7-8, you are probably dead because there is no consistent removal. There's also too much non beast minions to make the houndmaster efficient.
And by the way, there's no finisher except Kill Command that will mostly be used to remove big taunt because you don't have anything else to deal with.
