Hello everyone! I present to you:
"The flying Giants extravaganza"
As many mid range-y or even Control Shaman lists uses the Jade Package to get additional value and overall fit the Elemental theme better, we will be utilizing a different spectrum of cards to get to where we want.
The goal is "simply" to use more Overload cards in the early to mid game in order to reduce the cost of our Snowfury Giants. I have added a handful of more non - traditional tools in order to make this work:
Bloodmage Thalnos cycles a card, and is great with the removals.
Stormcrack early target removal.
Stonehill Defender is good because Taunt, and it also allows you to occasionally find yet another Earth Elemental. Other good hits are: Thing from Below, White Eyes, Stonehill Defender, Al'Akir the Windlord
Jade Claws is a great weapon that still fits the theme. Good for early game spot removal and that extra reach.
Doomsayer will buy you a turn in many scenarios, and allows you to stall until hitting your late/mid game threats.
Lightning Storm great and cheap AOE for those tempo matchups.
Volcano if you ever need a proper clean up.
Earth Elemental is just amazing in this deck. Often it eats up your opponents board and works really good with Ancestral Spirit as well.
Eternal Sentinel in case you fall to far behind on crystals. Also playable on turn 2 if you just need something to contest on board.
One little fella who's gonna have a lot of fun is Unbound Elemental which grows bigger every time a crystal is overloaded.
Fight Promoter works surprisingly well in this type of deck. You'll be surprised how often this card gets value.
Edit: With the addition of the Lesser Sapphire Spellstone the potential of this deck is incredible. And let's not forget Crushing Hand aswell. Hard removal has been a problem here, and this will just might make this deck viable! (Semi - viable) hehe...
Imaging having a Snowfury Giant with the Ancestral Spirit buff on it. On the SAME turn you can turn that in to 3 by using the spellstone. That is very hard to deal with, if not impossible. And then the windfury the turn after.... Bojjaa :p
Ancestral Spirit are mainly for the Earth Elementals or the Snowfury Giants, because we want them to stick on the board.
After carefully calculating (not) all the Overloading, the Snowfury Giants will cost close to nothing or 0 mana. Combined with Ancestral Spirit it's gonna be hard to deal with. The bane of this deck is obviously hard transform/removal spells like Hex and Polymorph. These cards are not that popular on ladder now, but they appear once in a while. When playing against these decks, it's important not to go all in and risk having nothing to follow up with. Try to bait the removal out as good as possible, in order to play a threat more safely in following turns.
Feel free to try it out! It's really something else.
(NOT RECOMMENDED ON HIGH RANKED LADDER)
Cheers :)
Used this deck to wreck a quest mage yesterday. I think he was quite.....shocked....
:p
The surprise factor is high with this deck! :)
Ty for commenting!
I'm currently running Feral Spirit, 2x Tar Creeperand 1x Stonehill Defender.
I disagree that Thing from Below belongs here since It's an Overload deck. It's just that i get overrunned by all the stinking agro decks. FeelsBadMan
Thanks for commenting :)
I have cut the Servant of Kalimos for another Stonehill Defender and 1x Far Sight
I like the Flametongue Totem in here as well :) Thanks!
Hey guys, i'm experiencing trouble making it through the early game. Like in the time i'm ready for the combo i'm ded...
Do you guys have any suggestions?
Working great for me! Never had so much with an overload deck before.
I'm actually surprised that this deck is doing any good at all. I have more wins than losses with it myself :)
For science! :D
Thank you so much for commenting :)
Cheers :)
There's is actually the issue of mana cost tho, when it comes to Windspeaker over Windfury
But i really don't see that being an issue, considering it's most likely happening the turn after the Giant is slammed.
Good talk!
Also just wanted to add that Unbound Elemental has never been so boss as in this deck! The abundance of overload cards that are useful in the early stages snowballed him fast. The hard removal comes out fast when he's sizing up so quickly!
Might I recommend swapping the Windfurys for Windspeakers? In my limited play testing, i felt like I was constantly holding 1-2 Windfurys with no valid targets while my opponent was controlling the board. While he is not optimized for it, at least the speaker's 3/3 body provides something in those situations. There's no spell synergy to worry about messing up and the 2 extra mana is probably never an issue when it comes to actually applying the buff to a giant since you'll probably be doing that the turn after you put him on board anyway.
I'll make the change!! Thanks alot for your comment!
Cheers :)
