Mulligan guide etc. when this deck gets some attention.
Changelogs:
23rd October:
- Changed Spirit Echo for 2nd Devolve
Reasoning: I dont feel like we need the value right now. There are alot of hunters around and it seems like that even in value matchups Spirit Echo is often a dead card.
Main Strategy
Basicly you have 2 options to win games.
Option 1:
Control the Prince Keleseth decks. Tar Creeper, Lightning Storm and Jade Claws are mvp here. Fire Elemental trades almost always atleast 1 for 2 aswell.
Option 2:
Tempo plays with Jade Spirit, Jade Lightning, Jade Claws and Aya Blackpaw. Do not forget about elementals like Blazecaller, Fire Elemental or Servant of Kalimos which are also pretty important against midrange/controllish decks.
Some information which applys to both options:
Not playing on curve to keep atleast one elemental on your hand is NOT bad.
For example: Playing Fire Fly at Turn 1 and Flame Elemental on Turn 2 is NOT recommended. Its better to just user your Hero Power.
BUT: If you start with coin and play Fire Fly at Turn 1 followed by a Flametongue Totem and Flame Elemental at Turn 2 is pretty good.
It's rly important to get effects from cards like Servant of Kalimos, Blazecaller or Kalimos, Primal Lord off. You shouldn't underrate this.
Trust me on this: Spawning a full board of 1/1 with Kalimos, Primal Lord and useing Thrall, Deathseer the turn after will make your enemy want to throw up if he doesn't have any clears.
Replacements:
- Kalimos, Primal Lord -> Blazecaller
- Aya Blackpaw -> Jade Chieftain
- Thrall, Deathseer -> Bloodlust OR Bloodmage Thalnos OR Maelstrom Portal OR Volcano OR The Lich King OR Spirit Echo
This Deck sadly isn't favored against Jade Druids. I'd not recommend adding Skulking Geist. Your only chance against Jade Druid is to rush him down. For that i would recommend replacing 1 Devolve for 1 Bloodlust.
If you really want to add Skulking Geist remove 1 Devolve and get it in.
You can also try adding 1 or 2 copys of Thing from Below to get some tempo.
2nd Blazecaller
I believe you, I also played several kinds of elemental decks since Ungoro, I rly like them!
Any replacements for the DK? I have all the cards except for Thrall, and it's bothering me a little.
There is no real replacement for Thrall, Deathseer.
Even though i want to give you some options, take what u feel like the most:
Cheers!
Thanks, I will most likely go with Bloodmage Thalnos
needs bloodlust
You can get 1x Bloodlust for 1x Devolve.
This deck struggles vs control lock. Only reason I know is because I met this deck 5 different times last night or some incarnation of it and went 5-0. The multi board clears are just too much to sustain I think.
Hi man, I'm the creator of the other Elemental Shaman on the frontpage. Your deck looks cool!
I'll definately try it later today +1
Hey pal,
yeah i've seen your deck and probably never would have made this deck if it wasn't for the cards you are using. Sadly i had no chance to play your deck 'cause im lacking some key cards of yours.
Sounds good. Maybe we can both learn something for our decks from each other.
Cheers!
Yeah, i peaked at about 88% at ~ 35 games. Recently i dropped to 72% winrate overall. Gonna update this guide once i have time with the right winrate.
Haven't played much against Prince Zoo Lock tbh. But i expect it to be a really hard matchup for this deck, thats true. Would expect Jade Claws, Tar Creeper, Fire Fly + Flametongue Totem or Lightning Storm to be the main MVP.
But anyways i feel like that if some Prince Keleseth Deck starts to snowball its sometimes really hard to comeback. I had some lucky games where i drew 2x Lightning Storm in the first 15 cards and it still was pretty close.
Yeah it's definitely working nicely. I'm trying out bloodmage thalnos, I'll let you know how it works
Seems like a good idea.
Looking forward to hearing about the impact it give's for you.
Good Deck
I've been trying to make elemental shaman work well for quite a while now and this is the solution! Fantastic deck man.. 5-0 currently. I like how you have an answer for literally everything and you are playing two different games that your opponent is trying to catch up and defend against - jade snowball and the elemental surge. Thumbs up from me!
Glad you like it. I'm currently testing some cards within the deck to make it even better.
