This is the Deck I used to beat Kel'Thuzad. The idea is really simple Get a Deathlord out make him obscenely big using a combination of Power Word: Shield, Dark Cultist, Inner Fire, Divine Spirit. And then just beat the ever loving crap out of him.
After Playing against Kel'Thuzad in normal and then in Class Challenge, I had a really good idea of his card pool and began to think how does one get by 20 armor 45 life and 2x 5/5 taunts the moment you kill the armor. The most obvious choice was a inner fire combo deck, with some massive draw potential, silence and some spells. His Shade of Naxxramas I knew were going to be a pain. Thus Bloodmage Thalnos comes into play to turn Holy Smite into a very effective removal tool.
Mulligan: Lightwell, Northshire Cleric, Loot Hoarder, Novice Engineer, Deathlord. Geting 1 or 2 of these will really help. Inner fire and divine spirit are also good to keep however trying to hold on to them and waiting for the deathlord can prove fatal, and may have been better to just mulligan one away and wait for the draw, However if you have the Deathlord KEEP THEM.
first try, thanks
Good deck, worked second time!
Swapped out a Stoneskin Gargoyle for a Barnes
Thanks! Used this deck as a basis to finally beat Kel'thuzad. Killed him with my 44/44 deathlord
This deck is awful. Even if you do use the inner fire/divine spirit combo, he'll just freeze your buffed minion until twisting nether.
Second try. Thank you for idea.
f**k your luck
This deck is shit and relies too much on RNG.
Hearthstone is RNG.
Took me several games to get this to work. Thanks!
I have tried healadin and this, and I found this deck relatively "easier". Some rng, took me around 5 attempts. In the win attempt I got a deathlord and power word shield early on, with double hp and a faceless. With 2 x 20/20 deathlord I ko'd him on turn 6.
Managed to skip the entire mind control phase with really lucky draws
took a few tries but when it clicks it hammers him!
Worked for me, maybe on the 4th or 5th try, I think it's better than Paladin.
Doesn't work. always kicks my butt.
At least U tried...
I beat him after 5+ tries. I had a 20/20 Deathlord. But what did the final point of damage was a Demolisher of all things.
Felt super satisfying after trying so many times with other decks. Thanks for the deck. Beat it on the second try and got my card back! I added 2 MC Techs instead of a Smite and Thalnos because I didn't really use them on my first try.
Super fun when you have a 2/44 Deathlord all the way untill you have 4 cards left, he steals it and then you draw your first inner fire. got to love RNG
My main issue is that the big hp taunt are fine to protect you but once you switch to phase 2 he will steal your taunts and stop you big boosted minion from reaching him... until he directly steal your big fatty :/
Seemed like more effective than those stupid healing paladin that are useless from my experience but it's still not really working for now..
Wow was there a lot of prayer to RNGesus, but luck was with me, beat 'em first try. Can't speak on the overall win % for this deck, but I'll agree that it worked for me, might just work for you. (Got a 30/30 Death Lord and enough silence/other minions that I only had to survive two rounds of chains NOT hitting my very large minion.)
If you're deciding between this deck and the other budget version I would choose this one, the differences are subtle but the few changes made the difference for me. The Bloodmage can easily be replaced with another Novice Engineer. The only change I made was -1 Silence for +1 Mass Dispel, finally won using that Mass Dispel.
Thanks for the list!
