Hey Guys,
I always wanted to make Krul the Unshackled and Mal'Ganis work in a Deck since they are both such powerful and cool cards, especially if you get them on board together. And finally with KofT and Bloodreaver Gul'dan it seems to be the time for Reno Krullock! I made it from 5 to Legend with this Deck in the last Week. Give the Deck some love and ask as many Questions as you want!
If you like it, leave a like here, it helps very much and I will keep updating the Guide!
I also offer coaching for both Wild and Standard. Just send me a message and we will get those ranks rolling =)

Match-up Guides:
I will update this section as much as I can. If you have requests for specific match-ups, just post it in the comments.
Jade Druid (similar to most control match-ups):
I did not play vs many Jade Druids, but you always want to keep the board as clean as possible while putting out your early threats like Mountain Giant, Twilight Drake, Despicable Dreadlord. By turn 8-10 put out your Krul the Unshackled and Bloodreaver Gul'dan to finish them of. They just can't deal with all your big boards you can create out of nothing! Tap as much as you can, while staying at safe HP with Earthen Ring Farseer, Antique Healbot and Reno Jackson, in order to draw your removal and lategame.
Card Choices:
Most of the cards are pretty self explanatory, since they are just biS. However i will ad some Questions, that were ask in the comments:
Why Lord Jaraxxus AND Bloodreaver Gul'dan?
When I created the Deck I was sad, that Bloodreaver Gul'dan replaces Lord Jaraxxus since they are both lategame Cards that replace your Hero. So I just added him and looked if it was reasonable to play both. Surprisingly it was pretty good here are some reasons:
- getting Lord Jaraxxus out of Voidcaller in the early/midgame is pretty strong, since he trades a lot of other minions without dying
- getting Lord Jaraxxus out with Krul the Unshackled and/or Mal'Ganis is extremly strong! (Who doesn't want a 5/17 on the Board?!)
- If you are matched against a Control Deck Lord Jaraxxus still is pretty powerfull and as soon as you draw Bloodreaver Gul'dan you can go back to survive even longer with your HP, which leads to the next point
- reviving the 6/6 with Bloodreaver Guld'Dan is really powerfull especially with Mal'ganis on board. After an Krul the Unshackled and/or Lord Jaraxxus it's just to much value and pressure for most of the Decks
Why Doomguard?
The idea with Doomguard is not to play it from hand but to get it out with Voidcaller or Krul the Unshackled In a bind, you can play him from hand if you're desparate and need it on board to survive another turn, but in a deck with so many valuable cards, you only want to get him out with Krul the Unshackled or Voidcaller.
Deck Statistics:
I will keep updating my statistics of Season 42:
Here is an Video Showcasing the Deck by Kiwiinbacon:
Krul -> Mountain Giant -> Emperor Thaurissian.
Krul enables a lot of the game winning combos in the deck and without him the deck lacks behind a lot. Mal'ganis and Doomguard soon become dead cards in hand and very difficult to play without Krul or voidcaller luckily hitting them.
Mountain Giant is essential to warlock because of playing him on turn 4. Dealing with a 4 mana 8/8 on 4 isn't always easy to deal with and can win the game if unchecked.
Thaurissian is kinda iffy because he's fantastic, but not necessary. He was necessary in the old renolock because of the leeroy po faceless combo, but without it, the best card to hit is good ol Jaraxxus. Hitting any of the others with the 1 mana discount is nice, but doesn't have the oomph to require playing him. Good replacement for Thaurissian would be Sylvanas if you have her.
Okay, thanks for the advice. I kind of figured Krul was important, but I just wanted to be sure before committing. I tried the deck without him and it wasn't doing so well. but after getting him and mountain giant it's doing much better. And Sylvanas has been working great in Thaurissian's place.
I opened Krul during the Gadgetzan premier and never thought I would have a use for him or play him, lol.
This deck is crazy fun and kicks your opponent over and over like he's a dirty yellow dog. I love the constant pressure of the deck and the instant momentum changes that Reno, Krul, and Guldan all provide.
I subbed Felguard for Voidcaller as I find it useful to sometimes have a taunt minion in the mix to help swing momentum with Krul as well as getting him back with Guldan. Felguard's downside is also neutralized once you get to 10 mana in the late game.
I went with Brann instead of Dark Peddler as I love his synergy with this deck. I think Stonehill Defender could be a worthy sub for Tar Creeper as he matches with Brann nicely to help survive early game aggro pressure.
Since I don't have Mal'Ganis yet I used Skulking Geist as a tech sub to deal with jade druid madness. Seems to actually be working, though I supposed Mal'Ganis would help to completely overwhelm opponents.
Make warlock great again! hehe
Missing the big two for this deck (Krul and Mal'ganis). While Mal'ganis is just a power card I feel like Krul is much sketchier and his only applied use I've seen is in this deck. Anyone recommend these crafts?
Crafted both and I don't regret it. These cards are used very commonly now in the archtype of renolock and not just this deck specifically. Would recommend crafting Krul first and Mal'ganis second
Now I have everything except Emperor Thaurissan, what's good replacement for it?
Probably Sylvannas
I have everything for this deck except Krul and Mal,but i only have dust to craft one.So i was thinking to craft Krul since the deck is mostly orianted around him and to craft Mal later. The question is what is good replacement for Mal?Or craft Mal first?
Honestly Mal is a super important card. I'd recommend crafting that before Krul. There are similar decks out there that don't run Krul but do run Mal.
Mal'ganis and Doomguard are mostly good because of Krul. I would recommend the opposite.
This deck is tons of fun - I'll try to reach rank 5 in wild for the first time with it.
(I usually reach rank 5 in standard)
Might make a few changes but decent deck.
Cool deck if you wanna play Warlock. But for those who just wanna play control and/ or Reno, Reno Priest DR is better...and it beats this deck. I climb legend with it, I never loose VS a Demon Handlock.
Do you mind sharing your priest deck?
SUre, here you are : http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/921504-amazing-wild-reno-zoth-priest-lvl-10-legend
okay so i have every card except krul....I'm not winning much....can't win against priest, fatigue rogue and sometimes druid as i'm not sure what to keep in hand, they are sometimes agro sometimes jade and sometimes naga giant druid.
So my question is crafting krul worth it? can it help me win more? as i'm not getting a good result from this deck
@demons0l
It should yes. Im at rank 6 currently and i have a roughly 75% winrate against priest the thing is theres a stupidly good priest with the guy who creates 2/2s for 1 mana against this deck you have to be quicker and try play jaraxus hes so good against this priest if you can stay allive.
I've been playing for a while and have most of the cards I think are necessary in order to be competitive. I'd like to play some Warlock this season but I'm missing a few cards from this deck. What do you all think should be the crafting priority of the cards I am still missing? I'd like to craft cards that I feel like will be useful long term and not just for gimmicky fun. I don't know if Krul seems worth it outside of this deck :/
From this deck I'm missing:
Twisting Nether, Krul, Bloodrever Gul'Dan, and Mountain Giant.
If anyone has any suggestions for replacements for this deck I'd love to hear them. Thanks!
