Funny note: it still works, if u want to beat him u can do it easily with this deck, rip naxx, c'ya guys!
Kel'Thuzad, you cheater, my Inner fired minions will destroy you!
Our enemy starts with 45 hp, 20 armor and ability:
Frost Blast - Deal 3 damage to the enemy hero and Freeze it.
He will use it every turn, thats why it's good to be priest, also Lightwell helps a lot.
His deck contain 30 cards, thanks to user Beonitas we have all of them listed here:
2 x Frost Shock
2 x Zombie Chow
2 x Frostbolt
2 x Acolyte of Pain
2 x Dark Cultist
2 x Shadow Bolt
2 x Skeletal Smith
2 x Shadow Madness
2 x Abomination
2 x Frost Elemental
2 x Sludge Belcher
2 x Spectral Knight
1 x Blizzard
2 x Twisting Nether
Our basic winning condition is one of our big hp minions with [card]Power Word: Shield[/card], [card]Divine Spirit[/card] and of course [card]Inner Fire[/card]
Probably best target for this combo is [card]Deathlord[/card], he got 8 hp so we can have huge minion, and also he got taunt!
When we deal 20 dmg to Kel'Thuzad and destroy his armor (or in his 11 th turn) he will instantly end our turn, summon two Guardian of Icecrown and change his passive to:
Chains - Take control of a random enemy minion. Cost: 8
So it's nice idea when we're about to destroy his armor to do everything but attacking him and then deal as much damage as possible, to not waste our turn/our minions attack. Also dont leave your buffed minion alone when Kel'Thuzad got 8 mana, it's not the smartest idea ^^
To deal with his taunts we have Silence(not anymore, but u can use it if u dont have some cards ;) ) and [card]Mass Dispel[/card], buffed and taunted minions with [card]Sunfury Protector[/card] can "passivly" clear his board. When they're dead we can smash his face with our inner fired minions, and probably hopefully ^^ kill him before he will be able to use new passive.
Muligan for Lightwell, [card]Northshire Cleric[/card] and [card]Deathlord[/card], when you got this you want to have also some buffs, always throw away 3+ cards that aren't [card]Deathlord[/card]s. It may take some games, you may need to muligan and surrender several times to get what you need, but its imo best deck for this boss. It's also duel against AI so you can do it again and again, don't need to win 10 times, once is enough, and with this deck you only need to do your combo and dodge Chains/Twisting Nether it IS possible ^^
Also, if you don't want to give him time to steal your minion, you can kill him before he get his second ability, it is not so hard, you just need to have 46+ attack creature... Like this:
Gl Hf and enjoy new card back ;)

Done it with my first try! Works a lot! Thanks :D
Second try! So much RNG that he didn't steal my 20/20 Deathlord but so fun! Thanks!
Tried this deck about 20 times, got close about 3 times (with lucky draw and mulligan), only to keep getting smashed by a lucky steal from his hero power in the end. :(
Tried a Reno Shaman deck that looked like it may be successful...then each of my constructed decks out of desperation about 3 times each, only to continue getting smashed (next closest was a Casino Yogg Mage deck, got him to 7 HP!).
FINALLY came back to this deck, got super close on my first try. Of course, when he was down to 13 HP, he stole my 26 attack Deathlord (when he had FOUR other minions he could've "randomly" stolen), and smashed my face in for the win.
Decided I would try a final time for the night, even got a bad mulligan, but came out on top for the win with a 23 attack Deathlord. He could have easily won, I only had 2 other minions on the board and 11 HP left, but the RNG gods finally smiled upon me. ;__;
Feels great to finally have the card back. Thanks so much for posting this deck, and those still trying, hang in there!
This asshole stole my 29 attack Deathlord to win the game. *sigh*
Sounds like KT :P FeelsBadMan
Dodged 3 steals with the power minion after a couple of hours. Finally got the ugly card back. FeelsGoodMan Thanks for the deck!
I know those feels...happened to my 26 attack Deathlord when I just needed to hit him once more (and had FOUR other minions he could've "randomly" stolen). FeelsBadMan.
Thanks for this! This was a solid base. I didn't have all the cards so I made my own adjustments, and I got him down on the first try!
Cards I personally swapped (mainly because I didn't have them):
-2 Light of the Naaru
-2 Gnomeregan Infantry
-2 Injured Blademaster
+1 Forbidden Shaping
+1 Silence
+2 Mind Control Tech
+2 Mogu'shan Warden
He stole my buffed Deathlord with his Hero Power, but I managed to luck out and stole it back via Mind Control Tech. I reached Fatigue a bit, but he wasn't able to do anything anymore when I had 4+ minions on board. Forbidden Shaping gave me Skeleton Knight (and luckily, won the joust mechanic when he killed it via Shadow Bolt) and helped push for more damage to his face. Mogu'shan Warden was also a nice target for Inner Fire. Silence dealt with his Sludge Belcher. A lot of luck was on my side. Got my shiny new card back.
I used some of those cards in my initial decklist, gj ;)
Well I cannot say, that this deck works. There is so much RNG needed, I tried about 30 times, but never come close.
-it does work
-there is a lot of rng...
-...but if you mulligan right and/or surrender few times to get perfect hand it is easy and fast way to beat that boss ;)
GL!
Finally made it after about 60 tries. Ran into fatigue myself, but works with a lost of RNG. Thanks :)
One try. Thanks.
I won first time by starting off with 2 northshires and a velen's, getting shield, deathlord on turn 3, shielding and velen's on turn 4, then divine spirit inner fire turn 5. i mass dispeled the sludge belcher, and he didn't have enough mana for the hero power. By the time it was turn 8, i had 5 minions and he had traded all of his other minions into the deathlord, which was now a 26/5. Thanks for the deck, and I guess RNG was in my favor.
Thanks! Took me about 27 tries with this deck, not counting mulligan-concedes. But who's counting anyways!
I wanna give a quick little summary of how to play this against Kel, for those of you it's not working for.
Whenever you play one of your buffable minions, he's gonna be hitting it, seemingly and frustratingly for no reason. In order to get a big enough minion you're going to have to play too many for him to damage badly enough, in my case it was 2 deathlords and a lightwell (the lightwell is super useful to have out as it can heal the deathlords)
From there, you should absolutely be gunning for the 5 mana combo of divine spirit x2 and inner fire for the 32/32 minion as this can kill Kel in 2 hits.
What I found to be the hardest was getting past the taunts, which means you can put in a second mass dispel if you'd like. By the time you kill him he shouldn't have enough mana to use Chains. Luckily I got the turn 6 kill via mass dispel topdeck.
Excellent work, well done. :]
that works agianst normal keltuhzad?
Why wouldn't it?
that works against normal keltuhzad?
Must of played this 30 times... Can't keep anything alive because of twisting nether and the times i do get my buffed minion to stay on board, he steals it first try with chains everytime... not saying it doesn't work, just not working for me:(
