Obviously healing is a necessity against this chump so the Pally seems the obvious way to go. It's basically just heal and taunt up until you can clear his board and leave him cardless in Seattle. Then make sure to fill up the board, always with a dude from the hero power cos he will be stealing your minions. Then charge him down, and that's that.
Updated with Tirion but you don't drop him until his hero power changes and he can no longer freeze.
7 attempts. No luck thus far.
**Update** - About 25 attempts deep now. I am not sure if they have changed anything for this encounter or what but this does not seem to be any more advantageous using this deck than the Priest decks.
Just got this first try. I replaced Arcane Golem since it no longer has charge with Leeroy Jenkins. Kel'Thuzad was the real MVP; he brought leeroy back like 4 times.
This deck worked wonderfully! Thank you for your hardwork. Now with WotOG I put in Sylvanas and N'Zoth for BK and KT and it was smooth sailing. Thanks again!
Great deck, won first try. I swapped Cairne and The Black Knight for Ysera and Justice and got great success.
Got it, thanks man!
Thanks for the deck! Managed to beat him on the first try, after trying multiple priest, zoolock and mage decks!
Only card i didn't have was Cairne Bloodhoof, so I put in a Sunwalker instead. Although this deck is relatively heavy on legendarys, they were not the lone reason I won the game. Just keep clearing the board early, heal often and try to establish 4 to 5 minions before he switches hero ability, so his chances of mind controlling a silver hand recruit are high.
Finally I manage to beat heroic Kel'Thuzad on my second try! Thank you!!!
I was missing some of the legendary stuff, but still managed to pull it out with the fundamentals from this thread.
I went turbo card draw with a small secret package...
i found the success comes in ignoring his first phase, ultimately it will deal about 30 damage, so use life gain to offset this (beating him him to turn 11 also mitigates this damage).
next you must be in decent board control when you move to the control chains phase. really this includes controlling the opponents hand, i went out my way to exhaust enemy resources as best as possible. if they have only 1-2 cards and not 3-5 your in good shape. i achieved this thru card advantage by drawing many cards off blessing of wisdom - this card was a critical evolution. even casting it on turn 2 on an enemy zombie chow netted 3-5 cards.
this can even mean waiting turns to push Kel into the chains phase. controlling the enemy board and their hand is usually more important getting past the initial 3 damage hero power. in fact, i find this this to be the easy part of the matchup, staying in this mode and taking 3 damage turn is often preferable to having the wrong creature get taken and getting wrecked.
life as a resource is something players often dont understand the value of. players feel if they drop below some critical life threshold they are losing the game, but life total is really something more malleable. dont panic, rather control your life total and learn to value it as a tradable resource. you can be safe at around 7 life, until resolving late life gain. i ended the game at around 16 life, but would have won the match all the same at 7, as board control with taunt had already been established (and reestablished in hand).
the last note, i finally got the win after Kel'Thuzad had the opportunity to create a lot of value, by staying alive over 3-4 turns with a dominating board presence - and luckily not getting taken at random, the huge amount of card draw allows you to find him, and the value created by Kel' even overcame a late twisting nether. by this time, my hand was already reloaded with gas and his was still empty.
i ended up with the kill, on my 30th card draw. i believe the enemy deck still had ten or fifteen cards left. this is a very good indicator of how the matchup is fairing. the more ahead you are of them the better.
cheers and good luck.

I would really appreciate it if someone could please explain how the hell to use this deck. What is the early game tactic? What should I mulligan for? Ive been using the priest deck, and Ive gotten him down to 8 hp. The closest Ive come with this deck is 44 hp. I feel like all I can do is take out maybe 5-6 of his minions before Im dead. Its incredibly frustrating.
I have all the cards except Tirion.
Finally! Third try with this deck worked like a charm. Didn't even sweat, and I didn't really understand that I was winning until he was practicly dead. Easy win indeed. But the two tries before was...an utter disgreace. I was overrun by turn 5 both times :S
Anyways, I've been trying priest decks for well over a week now because of the heal etc. All decks are utter bullsheiss! You just instantly fail every time he changes stance. Oh well. Thanks to you, dude, I shall never play against Kel T. again! ;-*
Worked on the second try with this deck. Used the priest deck about 20 times before switching.
Banged my head against the wall with the top voted priest deck for over 3 hours, decided to try this one and got him my first try. Ket definitely is to keep board control and lots of 1/1 tokens. Great deck!
awesome deck, beat it in 1 try! i replaced black knight with [card]Ysera/card] cause i didn't have black knight.
Great deck, but without Lay On Hands, I've kept losing. I'll keep trying, hoping to get it or get enough dust for it (used my dust for the Black Knight). Otherwise, I have all the other cards, so I'm looking forward to using this for the win!
So many times I could have won the game if I had Lay On Hands, but already over twenty games, no luck in winning against him yet, but frequently so, so close with this deck!
A bit of advice (might be obvious to some but just in case) - unless you have lethal or you have to spend all your mana for some other reason, try to use your hero power every single turn when he gets his steal a minion hero power. It gives you a better chance to keep your good minions, and its pretty detrimental for him spending 8 mana on a 1 1. Just thought I'd put that out there because sometimes I was tempted to play another card but using the hero power ended up helping more with the rng of the fight. Cheers and Good luck.
Second try, I got it on this, and that is after a couple hours of not rolling the dice correctly with the Zoo. Thank you!
I was skeptical at first, but my third try ended with the win! True, it was mostly the RNG where Kel'thuzad never used his minion steal, but a win is a win!
I can't believe this but.. Two tries! That's all it took.. Thank you soo much.
Worked on the second try, this deck rocked.
