Basics:
I was unable to find any good 2017 standard decks to beat Heroic Scarvash with, so I had to design my own deck for the fight. I thought I would share it here, so others don't struggle as much as I did against this boss.
Strategy:
- Mulligan: Restart until you have a Doomsayer by turn 2.
- Turn 2: Play a Doomsayer on turn 2 to clear the starting minions. If Scarvash uses Confuse and/or coined out a Stonesplinter Trogg on turn one, you should probably just concede.
- Even Turns (4, 6, 8, etc...): Play taunt minions. If you think it can survive a turn, play a Vicious Fledgling and try to give it windfury by hitting the boss with it once.
- Odd Turns (3, 5, 7, etc...): Use removal spells, equip weapons, and/or try to stay armored up (the boss likes to spam spells on your hero).
- Victory: If you manage to survive long enough for Scarvash to empty his entire hand, you should be able to take control of and hold the board
Replacements:
- Ornery Direhorn can (and probably should) be replaced with Sunwalker. I just happened to have 2 Direhorns and no Sunwalkers.
- I ended up beating the boss without ever using Sleep with the Fishes.
- I ran 2x Mountainfire Armor in an attempt to both gain armor and get a minion out on the board. However, this can easily be replaced with Eater of Secrets in order to counter Dart Trap, allowing you to hero power without taking 5-damage.
ty dude
he keeps killing doomslayer with either his minons or confuse............very frustrating
Wonderful. A variant of this saw me through him, though with a massive amount of luck (his turn 5 and 7 were rumbling elementals I managed to clear, he played nothing on 6 and I got my second fledgeling at my 6). Thank you!
AAEBAQcES+UPvMMC9s8CDYoB1ASRBv8HjQ78D9KuAsO2ApvCAp/CAubCApnHAszNAgA= is the varaint, mostly because I had those (wild) cards. Again, most of them saw NO use - only Doomseeker, Death's Bite (into Bloodrazor clears a 6-health enemy while leaving your 3-healths alive), Shield Block (brilliant turn 3 play in this match), the Brave and the Gastropods (great lategame double drop, ate a 6/6 and the 7/4)
Worked like a charm after I managed to get the doomsayer working and keeping my minions alive. Got lucky with a brawl as well as it kept my only taunt minion on board. Nothing like the smell of RNG on your favor.
