How greedy is it to just slot in Krul and perhaps Jaraxxus?
Can definitely see that you've updated the list to be more resilient against combo/OTK opponents (Gnomeferatu has a certain synergy with Brann that Deathlord didn't).
However, since Jade Druids are still a semi-frequent problem that I keep seeing in my current rank, which flex card from your current list can I replace with Skulking Geist?
(P.S. Am thrilled that Naga Giants are finally nerfed!)
(P.S.S. Still pissed off that Barnes dodged the nerf bullet; looks like Big Priest is here to stay for a while longer...)
You can take out rotten Applebaum, tar creeper or Sludge Belcher safetly, they are the less defining cards of the deck.
Hey there!
It’s been a while since my last feedback; hope I haven’t kept you waiting for too long.
While it’s nice to see that you’re preparing the deck for the upcoming expansion, I’m still worried about the bad matchups that this deck (and Warlock in general) has against Naga Giants and Aluneth Mages.
Wouldn’t a Bloodbloom be a good way to survive that fateful Turn 5 against Naga Giants? (E.g. combining Bloodbloom with Twisting Nether or Kazakus’ 10 mana mass polymorph potion)
As for weapon removal, I’ve seen enough Aluneth Mages, Silver Hand Paladins, and Skull-wielding Cubelocks on the ladder for Oozes/Harrison to almost never be dead cards.
Hopefully, the Witchwood expansion will put Renolock back into the top tier, one way or another!
The games after the first one (from earlier mentioned) have become a really mixed package of an experience (bouncing back and forth between ranks 4 and 5); however, I suppose that is to be expected, given that I'm still (overall) inexperienced with your list.
Bullet Point 1: Concerning your earlier Deathlord and Lone Champion tech suggestion, what would you take out in its place?
Bullet Point 2: And also, what are your thoughts about Dirty Rat (to potentially screw over Reno Priest and their pinging shenanigans, as well as denying Paladins their Silver Hand-related battlecries) and Dark Pact (which could help me play around silences, transformation effects, and Psychic Scream when planning to set up my Cube combos)?
Bullet Point 3: I was mainly laddering last night (without having returned to Hearthpwn to look at your mulligan guide); thanks for responding to me in a timely manner!
Bullet Point 4: Aside from Doomguard, which other targets would you ideally want to duplicate with Cube?
If copying Doomguard helps with setting up DK Guldan burst damage, then in comparison, perhaps...
Copying Voidcaller (if desperately in need of pushing out my bigger demons ASAP against a board-flooding opponent like Token Paladin and Token Druid)
Copying Voidlord (similar purpose to Voidcaller, but has the nice bonus of serving as insurance against opponents who mainly rely on charge minions for their win condition (aka. Anyfin Paladin and Leeroy OTK Renolock), especially once I play N'Zoth :D)
Copying Malganis (if I'm in need of protection against "eventually ping/burst the face to death" opponents such as Reno Priest, Burn Tempo Mage, Face Hunter, and the occasional non-Exodia Freeze Mage)
Copying Sylvanas (might help me keep up with Jade Druid's swarming; plus, this could be a good Plan B against Big Priest if I can't copy Doomguard in time)
Copying Deathlord (cause I gotta go fishing for more annoying Battlecries)
Just completed my very first game with this particular Renolock list; and I must say that I'm impressed.
Doomguard (From earlier played Krul) + Cube + Bran + Gorgon allowed me to set up an OTK against Big Priest (a total of FIVE Malganis-boosted Doomguards once I played Bloodreaver Guldan). :D
Of course, given that my Big Priest opponent (during the above mentioned game) wasn't able to draw a Turn 4 Barnes or any timely Psychic Scream against my first Cube, I'll have to playtest further and see if I can still win consistently with this particular list.
Any Renolock gameplay tips (from your personal experience) that you'd be willing to share with me? (e.g. holding onto combo pieces vs. mulliganing away your entire hand in hopes of a better early-mid game)
