Hello,
this is my version of TTK Exodia Mage, which is incredibly strong on today's meta...
Vote up if you like it ;)
Introduction
Hello, I'm JaMMeX, and I'm simply no one. But I want to show a you deck, which is incredibly strong on this meta, full of Jade Druids, Control Priests or Control Warlocks...
The main strength against all of control decks is simple. You just have a lot of time to draw your combo before your Ice Block even gets popped. Your matchup is 85/15 here.
Against aggro decks, like Token Druid, Pirate Warrior or all kind of Hunters you have bad matchups, but if you can survive first 4-5 turns, then there is chance to win. All of these matchups are like 25/75 :/
This deck, is one of these "OTKs", where you have to draw a lot with Arcane Intellect, Novice Engineer, Coldlight Oracle or Acolyte of Pain ...
Your main combo is completing your Open the Waygate by spells, which are mostly generated by Cabalist's Tome, Babbling Book, Primordial Glyph or Mirror Image from Ghastly Conjurer
Then, 2x Sorcerer's Apprentice -> 1x Molten Reflection on one of these, cast Time Warp, next turn Archmage Antonidas, another Molten Reflection for Fireball from Anton, and OTK has been born...
25 Upvotes here, and its time for mulligans and matchups!
Matchups and mulligans!
Okay, since we hitted both of these goals at the same time, it will be even easier for me, to show you mulligans for every single matchup :). I will start gradually with the most played class on ladder :)
MAIN MATCHUPS :
Druid
Since Druids are slower decks, which needs more time to go on board, because they firstly ramp with their Wild Growth or Jade Blossom, you have enough time to draw all of your freezes and combo pieces. On ladder are 3 types of Druids : Aggro, Midrange or Jade...
Against Druids, it's questionable what to keep, but always keep your Open the Waygate, cause even against Aggro Druids, you have chance to beat them through your quest... I keep Doomsayer, cause Druids have poor, and sometimes really unvauleable answers, so turn 2 Doomsayer can stop them really well! Good keep is Primordial Glyph too, you can find a lot of answers against all types of Druids...
Midrange&Jade
All-in-all, against Midrange or Jade, you have almost 90% chance to win, since they are slow on board, and you simply don't care about their "value" strong cards, because Freeze solves everything! Dont be scared, to at turn 3 and 4 draw through everything you can, because you wont die, and you have a really big chance to draw some Freeze on their board, and once you equip your Ice Block, you can draw more aggresivily for your combo pieces, and dont really care about their damage on board.
AGGRO
Against aggro it's harder, but I would say its 60% to win for you, because your survivability against fullboard is good. Dont be scared to use your Blizzard or Frost Nova without Doomsayer just like that. Because if you clear the board, anyway, Druid gonna fill it again until 2 turns. If you are able to destroy their board, and next turn drop Archmage Antonidas, you want to do it, and then use Fireball for board clear, or if you can drop atleast 2 Sorcerer's Apprentice, you can use Fireball to burn them down!

Im not ambitious at all with this deck guide, but I hope you will have best luck on ladder with it :)
Feel free to ask me if you have a question about this deck
ONE MORE IMPORTANT THING - My English is simply bad. Im Czech, and I write with my Czenglish, which means that my sentences doesnt even makes a sence... Please, if I will have some really huge mistake in this guide, write it to comments, and I will fix it :)
Used this deck to beat Rend Blackhand heroic! Thanks :D
ive only lost games bc i was texting on my phone during combo turns lmao!.
PS dont get distracted past turn 5 lol you are your worst enemy. Oh and every hunter.
No lul
you can replace it with alexstrasza, (2)molten giant, (2)arcane giant. This exodia mage only works if your opponent doesn't play taunt so the anonidas version is better also open the waygate is a must in exodia mage
super garbage deck
Yeah, I'm sure that's why this garbage deck is ruling the ladder.
EDIT: just to make sure, I'm being sarcastic, this is quite a strong deck
Any replacements for babbling book? Didnt buy the wing yet.
You can craft it now
No i still cant
Babling book is quite an important card so I'd say no, no replacement.
Can i hit a legend rank with this deck ?
isn't this Kolentos exact list?
Why matchup&mulligans only vs druids ?
Cause I'm not able to write regular guide against everything else, cause meta is permanently changing. Stay tuned
I love combo and control decks and this deck fits the bill.
I'm in agreement thou with most people when they feel like Acolyte feels a bit off here when you draw your combo cards early and they are dead in your hand until you can play the combo. Since this in a control/combo deck you really don't want to run the risk of overdrawing a combo piece. I would suggest adding in another Conjurer just because of the aggro on ladder.
-Acolyte of Pain +Ghastly Conjurer
To those saying that you need Simulacrum in this deck, I would tend to disagree with that as you can always get it from Book, Tome, or Glyph. It can be a dead card in hand at times as well if you don't draw the Apprentices. With any control/combo deck you need cards that can react to the board and it just doesn't seem to fit that for me anyways.
Funniest deck ever, i have 64% winrate and i almost play with closed eyes as of now!! there's always the ocational secret eater or flare but otherwise they're pretty doomed, pirates are hard too... druids are ez p
If i get the sorcerer in starting hand, should i change it or not?
Yes you do, because you don't want to use it until the late game. Control everything first, then assemble your exodia.
I've been playing a version of this with +Volcanic Potion +Ghastly Conjurer -Acolyte of Pain -Babbling Book. When I played the deck as published, I was frequently stymied by hand size and was vulnerable to overdraw at times. Ghastly Conjurer is a bit slower, but having a reliable 1-mana spell you can clear from your hand quickly makes this a little more efficient. The Volcanic Potion and Arcanologists help a lot against aggro. I have also swapped out -Ice Block +[card]Ice Barrier[/ice], in order to cycle my hand more efficiently, simply because it procs more reliably.
Simulacrum is definitely conspicuously missing from this deck. I don't trust the Exodia archetype itself enough to risk crafting one just for this deck, but it would be a no-brainer substitute if I had one.
That kind of deck is just pure luck . .I give up. Everytime I see plenty youtubers wins with it at least sometimes .. I won only 1 on 100 matchs and its not cause I dunno how to play that deck. I just never had the damn cards and oppononents always have the counter when needed. Damn frustrating.
