If you are here then you are propably a masochist without Kel'Thuzad, because that's the easiest way to defeat this boss on heroic difficulty (at least it sounds like it; I don't have it). Is this deck better than otk C'Thun priest? I think so.
Our goal here is simple: stall the first part of the game with lots of taunts and summon three 30/30 jade golems in the second half (or close to 30/30). To accomplish that we need a well known combo Gadgetzan Auctioneer + Jade Idol when on fatigue.
Mulligan:
Tar Creeper, Sen'jin Shieldmasta, Shellshifter and if you have those you may consider Psych-o-Tron. Above of that you may keep Wrath, Wild Pyromancer and some more expensive taunt minions.
Tips:
Try to place taunts turn after turn. The more taunts you have the better.
Always have in mind that Nazra can deal you even 15 points of damage out of thin air.
Wrath is a removal, but if you control the board feel free to use it, even on your minions, to draw a card.
Never leave your Gadgetzan Auctioneer without a taunt, unless you have second copy of him in hand/deck; Your enemy WILL likely target him.
Wild Pyromancer is here, because he costs two mana and has three attack. His effect can be used to clear the board, but it is a really soldom situation.
Lack of cards in the middle of the game? Gadgetzan Auctioneer may draw you some, but use him wisely.
Oh that's a good looking Arcanite Reaper you got there. It would be a shame if somebody used Acidic Swamp Ooze. But seriously tho, that's your primary target with this minion.
Mortal Strike is brutal, but you shouldn't heal your opponent. Your heal is limited. Plus your opponent won't attack your taunt minions when low on health.
Remember, that you also need a lot of health AFTER the first phase. Prince Malchezar
will hit you for 12 if you don't remove his stuff (and you won't), but he can also buff his minions with Power Overwhelming and Demonfire. Having above 20 health points is wise.
And most importantly: this boss can be defeated ONLY when you are lucky. Don't give up because you lost 15 times in a row.
Replacements:
Druid of the Claw or Dark Arakkoa if you lack Shellshifter or Ancient of Blossoms. Other ones are pretty neccesary. (Druid of the Claw is worse than Dark Arakkoa because your enemy will usualy slam 3/3's on the board; guess what happens then)
Ysera, The Lich King or Dark Arakkoa if you lack Malfurion the Pestilent or even Ancient of War. (The Lich King is worse than Ysera, because of Emerald Drakes and higher health wich can be both combined with Defender of Argus)
Upgrades:
Soggoth the Slitherer for Ancient of War.
Hadronox for Ancient of War.
Ultimate Infestation for Nourish, but I am not certain if it's the right decision.
Gluttonous Ooze for Acidic Swamp Ooze.
Disclaimer: I have NOT checked for replacements or upgrades in wild sets.
Some choices in this deck:
I have not included Fandral Staghelm, because his only good synergies are with Wrath and Jade Idol. He also mocks your Shellshifter, because taunt + stealth...
I have not included more jade cards, because they are useless in this fight and you still have to pull off Gadgetzan Auctioneer + Jade Idol for those sweet 30/30's.
Why I have included Nourish? Because you need some card draw or you won't get your win condition before your opponent fatigues.
I have not included Feral Rage because Healing Touch is better (you can prevent your opponent from dying to fatigue and you can also heal your minions).
Why there are no mana cheats, like Innervate or Wild Growth? Because we need lots of taunts, not big minions fast.
Why I have included Defender of Argus? Because he synergises with Moonglade Portal and big jade golems.
Why is there Malfurion the Pestilent? Because of that sweet armor from hero power, and stall with two 1/5 taunt minions.
Good luck!
30+ attempts and no success. i finish every month at rank 5 or higher and i reached once legend, so i am not a rank 25 player, who has no idea. If you just want the card back you can invest the time you waste playing this heroic in earning monay and pay somebody to do it for you :)
Finally!! First try!!, thank you so much :))))
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! <3
After trying for more than ten hours with C'thun Priest, Murloc Paladin, ... I FINALLY beat it with your deck in about 15 tries! I just kept playing taunts on curve until I had board control, put her at 3hp so she couldn't do anything with her weapons and just started growing jades behind my wall of taunts. In the end she fatigued herself to death with Looming Presence when my jades were at 24/24. Then Malchezaar came and I had 4 Idols in my hand, I summoned 24/24 - 27/27 jades and that was enough to kill him on the next turn!
Thank you for getting me my card back. :)
Got it in 20 tries
Used the deck but just switched Nourish with UI. Worked like a charm. Did it on my first try after a dozen tries with the C'Thun Priest deck.
Thanks man. I almost crafted Kel just for the priest deck, good thing I saw this before I did.
Thank you so much for this deck. Took me quite a few tires to get it. However, far, far fewer tries than the Priest C'thun deck I was going with.
I made the Swaps that were recommended such as Hadronox, Ultimate Infestation, and Gluttonous Ooze.
I do recommend though to remove Wild Pyromancer for Pompous Thespian
I also had a Acidic Swamp Ooze too. Don't remember what I pulled out
Used your deck as a template for mine.
Thank you!
Thanks for the deck second try.
After 50+ attempts a Cthun priest i beat it with this deck first go. Makes me feel like a fool for not finding this earlier.
You have my infinite thanks. This was the most frustrating Hearthstone experience, hands down. Even with this deck it still took me maybe 8 attempts -- but even when I lost, it felt like it was doable outside of RNG miracles. I swapped out the two Moonglade Portal for a Spreading Plague and Tree of Life, and it made a huge difference. Being able to fully heal myself and Nazra (so she could last longer on fatigue) won me the game, I think.
Almost won on my second attempt but Nazra inexplicably attacked my Gadgetzan Auctioneer with her weapon even though it put her to 1 health right before fatigue! I swear the AI for this match is pure evil -- like it cares more about making you lose than actually winning.
Made all the upgrade choices except for Ultimate Infestation. Beat it on the first try after who knows how many matches with the C'Thun Priest deck. Oddly enough, Nazra died to fatigue and Malchezar didn't Twisting Nether right away. He actually almost dropped his entire hand, THEN used his Twisting Nether the next turn. lol.
I did it using this deck thank you
Thank you so much! Took only 3 tries after a whole day of trying with other decks...
Had success with this deck after a couple of attempts! Well, I swapped out Nourish for 1x Ultimate Infestation, and the Wild Pyromancer for a second Defender of Argus (not sure if I was correct in ditching Pyromancer, but it worked out for me). Once I had board control, I played it slow, building up 3 armor a turn and setting up to blow through Prince once Nazra fatigued. Try to bait out her two Executes before playing your Ancients; I found it more useful to heal them than my own hero, once I knew they weren't getting cheesed.
Unless you fill up your hand with Idols (and a lingering taunt or two), save an Auctioneer for after Prince uses Twisting Nether. You can still get trucked by Infernals if you're only summoning one per turn.
Great deck, took only 3 tries using a slighty altered deck (just replacing cards i didnt have). But the weirdest thing happened. I ended up fatiguing Nazra and she died from fatigue damage. For some reason this made it so when Malchezar came in, he didn't play twisting neither, he just started his turn as though it was his next turn and I kept my board of huge jades that I build up and killed him on the first turn, Strange but made it easy.
Thanks
Same happens to me! But i dont have letal on my 1st turn and on 2nd Malchezars turn he use Twisting Neither D: But with a lot of jade in hand (jade were on 6/6) and with more than 12 health) i did good trades and finally win.
PD: i play with Xenthun deck
Finally did it lol, I used these cards, and on the second phase he didn't attack me when I had a taunt up and I didn't have KT on the board :)
Can u give details on what to mulligan? will +rep!
Edit :
Your deck was wonderful, pls upload it! :D it also works on ranked, with some revisions XD
Thx! 2-3 trys and i did it!
