With a new set comes a new pirate warrior!

Hate versing control? Hate playing it? Never learnt to last longer than a minute in bed? This is the list for you! I've climbed from rank 12 to rank 3 since the release of this filthy anti aggro set. But first, some backstory!

When I was a wee lad, my homeland was attacked by control decks. Hand Locks slaughtered my people and Jade druids ransacked my village. When they first came I was hiding in a closet and through a crack in the door saw a Quest Warrior dishonor my cow.

I made it out alive, but only barely. Now it is my life's mission to avenge my people and my cow.

Whats different:

It's the same old pirate warrior, but with a slower meta comes a slightly higher end curve, notable additions to the deck include:

Forge of Souls

Wow what an amazing card, it deserves to be legendary. If it's in your hand always keep it. Out of respect of its hidden legendary value we are only running one of these.

Ironbeak Owl

If we could run 4 Spellbreaker in this deck, we probably would, instead we're bringing in Mr Owl Man himself to break through some taunts.

As the druids have died down a bit we no longer need to run 4 silences, swapped back to Frothing Berserker as it is just a solid card.

The Black Knight

Edit: Been testing between The Black Knight and Leeroy Jenkins and it really is 50/50 about which one to run. In the end either run the one you own or the one that is most likely to avenge my cow.

His role is obvious, everyone is running a taunt of some kind. Tar Creeper,The Lich King, or even one of those annoying 1/5 taunt druid dudes. If you don't have this card run Leeroy Jenkins or a 2nd Ironbeak Owl.

Bittertide Hydra

These were in some of the Un'goro pirate lists, once again these guy's run the role of breaking through several taunts or just smashing face till you win. Also serve as a secondary silence target against freeze mage or Aldor Peacekeeper.

Edit: A lot of people have been talking about not playing Bittertide Hydra in their deck but I believe it is an absolute must. That being said if you don't own it, another Frothing Berserker isn't a bad alternative.

A simple play guide:

Your pirates, when in doubt hit face, its probably the right play. Unless it isn't.

If we get enough interest I'll give you more of my backstory, and a more thorough play/mulligan guide I guess.

EDIT: Thanks for the interest everyone. I don't think anyone needs a play/Mulligan guide for pirates, so here's some more back story from my younger days.

While my village was under attack i was rescued by a wild face Hunter playing quickshots and glaivezookas. He took me into his home where I vowed to avenge my family and my cow, and he taught me all the ancients ways of fighting. He used 2/1 Leper gnomes and dark iron dwarfs that gave a permanent plus 2 atk buff. But his ways of fighting were old and imbalanced. I needed something new to defeat my enemies.

So I went on a journey throughout standard, learning from the lotus druids of the East,  and the murloc paladins of the West. Until finally I journeyed south and joined and eventually led a pirate deck.  With this power I decided to buy two new cows, and though this made me happy I was honour bound to avenge my first cow. And so began the hunt for those in charge of the attack, who go by the name of The New Control Priest That Uses That Monster Reborn Card To Summon 9 Cost Monsters After Playing Barnes On Turn 4 Which Is Just Ridiculous, and his lackeys Exodia Mage and Exodia Paladin.

Only when they are defeated will my cow once again have his honour restored, and finally be accepted into the great hall of Valhalla.
