Hello everyone, I am here with another deck guide, and this time it's a really funny one, as I really like to bend the rules of Hearthstone :) Allow me to present you the Obsidian Rage Priest!
This deck is all about cheating a big minion into play and reviving it as soon as you can. As such, there are very few minions in the deck to ensure that you get what you need with Barnes and Shadow Essence. So you just try to stall for a while with your spells, and as soon as you can you go for some huge minion, which should then kill your opponent quickly.
Pirate Warrior is the worst matchup for this deck as you have a hard time preventing rush damage that he is capable of, but other aggro decks are fine, as dealing with the board is your strong suit. You especially want to play against Shaman or Taunt Druid, as you just cheat a big taunt minion to play early and they have a hard time dealing with that.
Against control your best bet to win is to play Y’Shaarj, Rage Unbound as many times as you can, and usually they won’t have answer to it for the third time or so. If they still somehow manage to clear your board, then you must get as much value as you can from Thoughtsteal and Devour Mind to beat them.
If you could choose one card that would always start in your hand, it would be Barnes. Drawing him is insane, and is the single best card in the deck by far to get. Other than that you can keep Shadow Essence in most matchups as it is your main gameplan, but if you think they will be hyper aggressive then you might have to toss it. Shadow Word: Pain and Shadow Visions are also good keep basically no matter what, and I keep Mind Vision most of the time as well. Thanks to aforementioned deck restriction this card had to make the cut, and it helps you to do anything in the early game as they should have some cheap cards in hand after they mulligan.
Against aggro you are looking for Potion of Madness, and Holy Smite is also good, especially if you are on the draw.
Against control you can keep Eternal Servitude as the card is great and game will go quite long. Thoughtsteal is also a good keep, especially on the play.
And just a small bonus to wrap it up, you should keep Shadow Word: Horror versus Shaman and mulligan it when you play against anything else.
I really dug deep to find any playable spells, so I don’t think there is much you can change there, but if you figure out something then sure let me know. Where you get to make the choices is you minion combo package.
I know I said that Barnes is the best card, but theoretically you could cut him as it greatly improves your Shadow Essence as you will always hit something good. I think that Barnes compensates for this with him being super strong when drawn, but I just wanted to let you know that this could be a possibility.
After that there is only Y’Shaarj, Rage Unbound that has to be in the deck, and all the others are optional. Obsidian Statue is real huge brick wall against aggro, but if you are playing versus control all the time, you could just switch one of them for Ysera.
The Lich King can also be removed from the deck if you don’t have him or feel like you have too many big targets in the deck, and I have played for a long time with this deck with Devour Mind in his place.
That's all I have for you today guys, hope you enjoyed my article! I really recommend that you try this deck, it’s very good and so much fun. As always, don’t forget to see the Youtube video if you are interested in some gameplay, and if you liked the deck, then Youtube subscribe is greatly appreciated. See you next week with another deck guide!
Cheers

it's just me or this deck is dead? Still fun but dead tho...
A total RNG deck, if you don't get Barnes before turn 4-5, you just lose.
Nope.
If you get Barnes before turn 4-5, you just win. If not, you have still pretty high chance to win.
Prophet Velen and two mind blast? Kinda sounds crazy. Why not add that?
I played around with it a bit. Its fun but not as effective as the deck above. But when you do hit it its insane. I put in a Malygos in with 2 holy smites aswell, Its fun doing almost 60 dmg in one turn!
To add the 2 mind blasts you would have to lose some other cards. Not impossible to fit in, but it makes the deck a gimmick within an already gimmicked deck.
-2 Pint-Size Potion -2 Shadow Word: Horror and +2 Free From Amber +2 Spirit Lash because I didn't have them.
But it seems pretty good against Jade Druid for me. Not really feeling Devour Mind so I may take it out. You have to shut them outta the game quick or you have nothing to play with in the late game.
subtitution for Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound ?
I used Faceless Behemoth while saving up dust for Y'Shaarj, I still won most of my games. A big card should be decent.
I don't have Dragonfire Potion, any substitutions?
no its a staple priest card in every deck
Awesome thanks! Im still rather low rank, but finally a deck that is both good AND fun! Love it. Dont have dragonfire potions so am making do with some other crappy spells but even so its still great. Shadow Essence into Barnes is a buzzkill though.
Shadow Visions
This deck was not made by ...whoever the fuck this "pro player" is. 1) Kripp was playing this on day 1 of KFT and he got it from one of his subs.
This deck were made PRE-KTF after Blizzard revealed all the cards.
It has nothing to do with "QQmyOppenentISsoLUCKYheSuckandRewardedBYRNG" Kripp.
Thanks
having no ysera in this deck is crime of the century.
In a deck like this I'd even choose Ysera over Lich
I really like Stancifka , but i think Thoughtsteal and Devour Mind are simply not good in this deck . Most of the times your hand will be full of cards anyway.
The only good time to play Thoughtsteal is turn 3 to prevent the HeroPower PAss turn .
Devour Mind is way to expensive and most likely will be a dead card until you are able to dump cards from your hand .
90% of the time you won't be able to play this card at turn 5 at all :
1. Against Aggro you don't have the luxory to play a 5 mana for 3 random cards .
2. Against Token / Midrange you also need to clear the board ( espeically if you dont have Barnes in hand ) or you will be dead .
3. Against control if you play this at turn 5 you most likely going to OVERDRAW .
4. As you can see the scenarios to play this card is EXTREMLY LIMITED, and the later the game goes this card going to be worse and worse.
Also these cards are RNG as well .
Conclusin : RNG + Expensive + NO Impact on board for 5 mana = BAD in every card game .
I also don't understand why no Ysera ? Fits in the deck perfectly . It doesn't matter what you are facing against , since its Barnes + Eternal Servitude value .
No Shadowreaper Anduin . WHY? . This card is a boardclear against Jade Druid ( which is super popular ) / good against any deck that runs lof ot 5ATK+ minion ( mostly controlish) with low mana cards Shadowreaper Anduin 's Heropower can be an ALTERNATIVE WIN CONDITION .
Also a single copy of Silence is handy as well, really good against Pirate Warrior ( Berserker ) / This kind of priest to silence Statue / Good in general (having so many targets) , and having the luxory of doing 2 extra damage if you run Shadowreaper Anduin .
A single copy of Mass Dispel also required in a lot of scenario , espeically against Living Mana .
Mass Dispel > Shadow Word: Horror . Its not enough that Mass Dispel removes the Deathrattle , but also removes buffs as well so you can Shadow Word: Horror.
There are planty of scenarios when Mass Dispel is SUPERB .
Playing Cards like Thoughtsteal and Devour Mind gives RNG into the deck for no reason . Also the stolen cards MOST LIKELY won't fit / synergies with anything and will be DEAD cards entire game ( not to mention your hand will be full ).
Mind Vision is playable only because you can time it (the later the game the better this card will be ) when you want to play it and it can give Shadowreaper Anduin extra 2 damage with heropower . But its still RNG .
I would like to mention that Cairne Bloodhoof also a SUPERGOOD card in this deck , but it doesn't have the instant impact like The Lich King or Ysera.
